DONIC Ovtcharov Soft Carbon V1 - Offence with feeling.

Based on the best-selling Ovtcharov Senso V1 and Waldner Senso Carbon blades, DONIC have now designed a carbon blade which has a relatively soft feeling on contact with the ball.

Well thought out and carefully processed: The walnut outer veneers provide the required speed and hardness for an attacking, offensive game. The medium hard Scandinavian pine middle veneer causes high tension within the blade resulting in supreme dynamic and power possibilities. However, perhaps what is most remarkable considering that this is a fast offensive blade, is its exceptional feeling and amazing ball control qualities.

Two thin carbon middle layers and the Abachi middle veneer completes this top quality blade that is in a class of its own.In combination with the Senso handle technology, a relatively soft carbon blade has been made with extremely good feeling - a model designed and then further enhanced on the basis of the best-selling Waldner Senso Carbon blade. Compared to the Waldner Senso Carbon, the new Ovtcharov Soft Carbon V1 is slightly more direct when hitting the ball which results in even more speed. However at the same time even when playing short balls or a passive game you won't miss out on control.

I was surprised, that I have not written about this blade, which I have for 3 years now. I used it back then. This blade is not for loopers, because it has hard walnut outer veeners, so ball contact is quite short, even with Bluefire M2. This blade is more for a blocker/smasher type of player. The speed is in the lower OFF- range. I tried it with ST handle, which is quite nice oval shaped, fits small hands well too. The blade has enough rigidity and power for big slams and finishing shots paired with very crisp feel and control. I did not like Acuda S2 on it, Joola Samba Plus was good, Donic BF M2, JP03, Desto F3 was good with the blade. I would not recommend tenergy for this blade. The blade has small head with 154*144 mm dimensions, senso (hollowed) handle so it is quite light with medium hard rubbers.

Hi again
All properties of this blade is very good, but only one thing is bad .....
When hitting the ball, it sounds like a beginner's Racket.it means you heard "TOK" sound when hitting the ball !!!!!!!!!! and is very ugly sound !!!!!!!!!
I think the senso handle and holes on it makes this sound !!!???

Hi
it is the best blade for all-round players. it has good feeling and good control but the speed is a bit low as Donic mentioned in catalog. When you hit the ball, you sense it under your hand and the vibration comes to your heart!!!!
weight of this blade in balanced forward because of holes in handle, but is't very important and is a features of this blade.

External Review for Donic Ovtcharov Soft Carbon V1 on April 4, 2014
Bought this blade after the Carbo Kev looking for a lighter and more all round blade. It proved to be a disappointment and ended up having to revert back to the Carbo Kev. Shod it with a S1 turbo and a Coppa X1 which probably not the optimum choices to go with this blade. Overall bat weight was around 185-186 but with the hollow handle it didn't feel balanced. Had a nice smash on the FH but otherwise not a memorable setup. Sold it back to the supplier that I got it from and it sat on the shelf with a lot of individuals trying it but not liking it. A blade that seemed to promise a lot with the 'soft carbon' but didn't deliver.
