Donic Waldner Dotec AR
The Limba / Balsa combination produced by the Donic Dotec Technology, results in a perfect, relatively speedy, all round blade. The touch is amazing when returning the ball. One cannot experience better control inside the Donic Dotec range! Available in LEFT-handed or RIGHT-handed version.
In the Waldner Dotec AR, the Dotec mesh lies directly under the Limba covering ply. The middle layer consists of Limba ply. The core is made out of 4.5mm Dotec-Balsa.
Available in Right-Handed or Left-Handed versions.
The Donic Dotec System is the wood technology without awkward edges. Since the human hand does not have hard edges, Donic wanted to develop a smooth blade without sharp edges. It was, therefore, important to ensure a completely smooth transition between blade and handle.
The Donic Dotec system is the technology that provides a blade with a perfectly smooth handle – a joy to grip.

rubbers on it but couldn't find anything that worked well for me, but again it's personal preference. The handle is cork, despite review by "lbuga68" above to the contrary. I'll add that it certainly doesn't look anything like "rubber" as suggested, although could in a strange way be said to feel like rubber as cork has a natural rubber-like elasticity to it. It IS cork though, without a doubt. Regardless of the blades many idiosyncrasies, it's not my cup of tea. It's strong points (IMO) are it's light weight (70g~) and forehand-friendly handle, while slightly opening the backhand up, for better or worse. For the record, the curved, fat, protruding (palm shaped) part of the blade should curve INTO the palm, not the other way around. If I was buying a Dotec style blade for the first time I'd get the Carbon version, which would hopefully change it's sound while adding a more consistent feel and playing characteristics than the 5 ply AR version. The 4 outer limba plies would probably assist with this. TTDB reviews appear to suggest the speed/spin characteristics are also more balanced with the carbon version.
I like thick handle but this was too much even for me. I sold blade to a defensive mate and he was happy with Calibra Sound and Xiom O Elite on it.
