Reviews of Andro Hexer Powersponge (16)
Changed my Rozena to this. Nice soft feeling and amazing for blocking. I dont understand why the Hexer series is behing the Rasant.
One of the better rubbers I have played with. Despite being a soft rubber, the gears are all there for the speed you need. Boy is this a SPIN beast. The spin I get on my first balls is pretty deadly and satisfactory. The soft rubber intentionally is highly controllable making it a very satisfying and attractive option. Put it on a ALL or ALL+ blade and you have an excellent combo of spinny do it all setup. Nice on the BH for excellent Blocking and control. The Durability of the rubber is pretty decent as well. Definitely a rubber that can ease you into Tensors if you are going from Intermediate to Advanced Levels.
I've used this rubber for several years and struggle to find a better alternative.
Usually I use Hexer+ on the BH but recently thinking HexerPS might be slightly better.
Review Andro Hexer Powersponge
-2.1mm Red on Cornilleau Soft Carbon Off+ Blade with Hexer+
Excellent all-round rubber for all shots: chop, topspin or blocks. Can loop in the short game.
Strong loop shots with ability to produce heavy spin off topspin blocks or heavier hits.
Good steady topspin with ability to counter hit topspin well.
Chop / Push:
Good steady consistent push shots with ability to produce heavy chop or blocked chop.
Comparison - Hexer +:
Very similar with ease to twiddle. Slightly better for loop and short game blocks.
Suit offensive players.
This rubber is really good. The control from the power sponge is very impressive, you can block, drive and attack with outstanding confidence. With this rubber you can play fast attacking shots, you can play spins, or you can play loop to loop. It is my first Andro rubber, but I play better with this rubber than with any of the Tenergy line, Acuda line or Nittaku rubbers.
Perfect Rubber for BH if you play with a med-Soft blade, not good for hard blades. (my opinion)
If you don't play with topspin or looping with your BH (you just use yor BH for blocking or looping the first ball after an opponent chop/push) that could be a good rubber for you.
i used hexer ps for a long time . excellent spin . excellent speed close to table, lacks gears far away from table . i reckon this is the perfect rubber for intermediate players.. also for beginners. 2.1 fh 1.9 bh for beginners imo ..
Its a very good rubber with a extra soft sponge which makes it more spinny and helps ball to be controlled .. i have paired it with my rakza 7 (bh) and using yasaka max carbon 3d .. it makes it very fast and powerfull to feel but it was difficuilt for me at first to hit top spins and loops but after some time playing with the thing ... i manage to own the game like np =)
I suppose I will start with the good. This rubber is light, loud and easy to control both close to the table and away.
The bad: the amount of spin it produces is deceivingly low. My backspin serves that would normally go into the net upon return were coming back high or my serves were often attacked. My loops had a nice arc and hit the table most of the time due to the control attributes of this rubber, but it was nearly impossible for me to hit a loop kill. Twiddling the blade over to Acuda S3, the same shots carried more spin and made my opponent miss the table more often. In his words,"the powersponge spin is weak."
In conclusion, this rubber is made for control oriented offensive players. For those who crave longer rallies over quick powerful points.
Just got it today. It is fantastic on blocking (however I don't know if this is because of the blade I just got as well. So yeah, might be a bit biased... using Andro Kinetic Supreme Off- blade. Anyway, blocks everything back with decent speed and very consistent and easy to control. Not very spinny rubber but decent speed and great control.
Only draw back is I'm still having trouble with pushing against backspin at the moment. Hopefully just needs a bit getting used to.
I'm very pleased with it and reccomend it.
Very good rubber. I use it on my forehand in thickness 2.1mm.
First off all, the sound -- it is incredible loud, louder than Plasma 380 and even Nimbus Sound, which I've played before.
It's not a fast rubber but very spinny and have very good control too. Opening topspin is easy to drive just as conterlooping. Some times I have a little problem with looping against chop.
For me it's a really good offensive rubber, good for FH and BH.
This is a balanced rubber that gives very good control. blocking is very good. looping is consistent but i felt it is not easy to apply heavy spin while serving.
for me it makes a very good BH rubber
very good rubber, just like hexer , it can do anything pretty well. great for serving , great for looping(the loops wont be extremely fast though), very good short gam and excellent excellent blocking. the rubber has more control than ordinary hexer but is a little slower , serves are similar but blocking is better. this rubber is suited for almost anyone!
