Reviews of Andro Ligna All+ (2)
Please take this review with a grain of salt as I am not very familiar with many blades/rubbers. I did not play for a long time(20+ years!) and coming back to the game, I decided to build my own racket.
My setup was built by megaspin which consists of Tenergy05, Hurricane NEO 3, and Andro Ligna all+ Flared.
If I were to do it again, I probably would have chosen a little faster blade, but it not a fault of the blade. This combo is almost ideal.
On all categories, the products seem to do just what they say and I am happy with the choices overall.
-The most thing I can criticize if any is that the grip. Although I have small hands (19" see glove making: the circumference of the palm area measured between 4 fingers and palm), the grip is skinny. I've resolved the issue with a grip tape.
-The wood itself is on the soft side. Protecting with an edge tape is advised. (I have one)
-Did I say it is wood? I did and it does feel like you're holding a wood piece. If you're sweating a lot, then the grip tape is mandatory.
-Due to lightness of the blade, there is some vibration and limit to speed, but should not scare you at all. If attached to some fast rubbers, it can do serious damage to opponent's defenses.
-This blade has great control and above average speed.
-With Tenergy05 at backhand, I ended up with terrificly fast flips as well as controlled pushes.
-Forehand Hurricane Neo3 is enough. I can do really fast forehand hits. However, for fast-attack players, this racket might be a little light or a faster rubber.
-lightness help quite a bit to reaction time.
-The sweet spot on the paddle is along the handle. It extends wide enough for power. Every paddle is just a little different due to wood construction and in mine, if you were to make paddle narrower about 1 cm from both ends, that area is the sweet-spot for fast attacks. Edges are a little weak.
I've chosen the blade by looking at stats in this site as well as reading the reviews. This is definitely All+. Great control and good speed.
A predictable blade with no surprises in performance.
