Very fast and spinny, but suprisingly with a lot of control. Even for me as a intermediate player I feel that this rubber has improved my game. Best rubber I've used so far.

External Review for Butterfly Tenergy 05 on November 18, 2019
I was anxious when buying this rubber due to reading reviews about the problems with control that some people may have when using it.
I was extremely happy when I first hit the ball with the T05, the Tenergy rubbers give a whole new feeling when hitting the ball that can't be described.
My game is primarily based around spin so this is the most important aspect for me. The spin that you can get with the T05 is amazing, if you have the adequate technique, the amount of different types of spin you can produce with the T05 is staggering. As most reviews mention, the topspin strokes you can produce with this rubber, whether they are more driven or looped, are immense and often are winners in rallies.
This racket despite being listed as the slowest out of the main 3 Tenergies is extremely fast, and very spin sensitive. If you can learn to control the speed of this rubber the strokes you can produce are extremely fast with immense amounts of spin, another strength of the Tenergy 05 not found in other rubbers. the balance between spin and speed in every shot. The control of the rubber must be addressed though, you need to have the correct technique in order to use and control this rubber effectively, and is quite spin sensitive so you need to have very good ball control in order to use this rubber with all strokes. Push shots close to the table in short-short receive are the main shot you'll need to look to remaster with this rubber, and chops aren't really an option with this rubber but if you are player primarily looking to play chops you shouldn't be buying this rubber anyway of course.
In all, if you have the technique, this is by far the best rubber I have ever tried and is absolutely lethal in topspin strokes at mid-distance from the table, an easy 10/10 if you have the technique necessary to control it.

Its been 3 weeks since I have been using this on my forehand side. Good so far. Nice upgrade from Donic Bluefire.
Taking some time to get used to. But good rubber. Helping me on improving my loops. Able to hit far from table with excellent control.

Very good rubber, speed and spine regular fine, if you boosted that. Recommended to pair with medium stiff and soft blades.

After 4 months with this rubber in ma lin soft carbon blade
It is a good rubber for:
Blocking, easy to attack heavy spin, speed, excellent power loop, manufacturing quality, good performance and consistency in BH probably for the shortest and most compact strokes, good feeling.

It is a bad rubber for:
FH drive is impossible to keep the ball on the table, inconsistent in some strokes, you wonder why the ball bounces out of control, sensitive to spins, feels softer than 45 degrees, you can't hit hard the services because the ball will come out from the table, difficult short services, too high angle, too high price, you pay high price to lose control in FH.

Now I understand why Chinese players do not use this rubber in FH, you cannot put energy in your arm because you will be very inconsistent, I would recommend using it in BH, I have felt more control in FH using tenergy 80.

I will return to nittaku g1 is excellent in everything at 50% of the price.

The balance between rotation and speed is the advantage of this rubber. I use PP VISPOWER II ALC FL M.I.T. Blade, I will always use it, let me enjoy playing table tennis.

After using this rubber for 6 months , my observations:
- One of the best medium hard rubber
-Durable , not lost its mojo after regular playing for 6 months daily 1-2 hours
-Very high throw angle with alc blades , does not forgive on bad shots
-Topspin/loop - 10/10
-Backspin - 9/10
-Block - 8/10
-Chop - 9/10
-Serve - 9/10
-Sidespin -9/10
-Distance from table - upto 3 meters easily effective
-Touch game - 9/10
Not for passive players, u need to have good physical and stroke movement or else this rubber will fail.

Rubber is hard to learn with. 9 months in with 6 months coaching I stepped up to this rubber 2 weeks in and could not control it. After about 7 months in I played with it on my backhand so much my forehand was non-existent. Safe to say this rubber is very fast and very spinny. Do not learn with it because consistency should come first but a great step up when ready. Is fragile so be careful but does last a while if you clean it and store it properly.

There are enough reviews of Tenergy 05, so, this is just (maybe contraditory :) one more.

Tenergy 05 (2.0mm) paired with a Xiom Hibi O J-Pen blade.

I disagree with many reviews here which says it's a hard-to-use rubber. I believe if you are used to medium-hard rubbers, you won't have much problems adapting to Tenergy 05. After all, any rubber requires time to adapt, and Tenergy is no exception. Don't expect to change your rubber and get your best shots in the first training session, it could be harder, maybe if you play with very soft rubbers. So, to my review.

- It's a fast rubber, so as any other fast rubber, you will miss many shots on the beginning, until you adapt your strokes.
- It's fast but still not 'bouncy' as tensor rubbers, which is a characteristic I liked a lot (at least comparing it with rasanter R47, which I tried before).
- I really love the playability of this rubber close to the table and 'mid-range (let's say 2/3 steps away from table).
- I found it harder to generate power far from the table, but I'm a close-range player, so, it didn't bother me
- It is quite easy to add spin to the ball, but well, it is also very susceptible to opponent's spin, which needed some adaptation on the first weeks, specifically on pushes.
- I like a lot blocking with it, but it requires some adaptation too giving the racket angle needed.
Overall, it provided me the spin/power I was lacking with MarkV and the 40+ balls in exchange for some time to adapt.
Anyway, for me and my game, Tenergy fit very well, and I didn't have any problems adapting to it other than I was going to have adapting to any different rubber. Having problems only with shots too far from the table, which I can't say it's a rubbers fault, because my game itself is close-range, and I don't play much away from the table.
It doesn't last though. I play about 2/3 times a week, and after 5/6 months I can already feel it needs to be changed.

Nothing extraordinary. The rubber is not long lasting and you may find a similar rubber with cheaper price.

I went from Yasaka Rakza X to Tenergy 05 - 1.9mm on my forehand and i'm happy i did. The switch was quite easy and i noticed a lot of extra spin and speed. Topspins have a huge variety if you have the proper skills, however it is quite sensitive to incoming spin. It's not an easy sheet to play with, but if you know what you are doing, you will give your opponent a hard time

A very good topspin to topspin rubber close to medium distance looping. But not the best for playing slow stroke especialy when u play with long pips opponent. Heavy price tag. T05 are very good rubber but in real short game, majority players does not need this rubber. More suit pro players that has very fast hand.
Just forget this rubber. For my style i prefer rubber like baracuda, easy to stroke in short distance, easy to drive n attack underspin ball.

If you are a professional player, this is the rubber for you. If you are a club level player, this is NOT the rubber for you.
Pros: Amazing rubber for looping at mid distance. Great for flicking and starting rallies. Decent at blocking. Its a looping machine and generates a lot of spin. BUT has a trade off (see below).
Cons: Very very sensitive to incoming spin. You dont do a serve return with this rubber. You flick or loop to get the rally started. There is always a trade off. This rubber has no control. Your technique has to be perfect (hence a professional player)
You can't smash the ball and end rallies with this rubber (unless you are using the max thickness) which has no control close to the table. Trade offs again.
It is very expensive for a club level player. I can buy 2 Rakza7 sheets (which is better performance to price ratio IMO) for 1 tenergy sheet.

Secret to beating the Tenergy players in my club. Generate a lot of diff spin mixed with diff lengths, it is hard for tenergy players to control spin. They try and loop everything, or go defensive and you attack. Do not try and loop with them. Dont play to their strengths, but expose their (tenergy) weakness. Variation with high spin, and the tenergy players are out of their element - cant loop all the time and it becomes unforgiving for them. I think JO Waldner would easily dismantle tenergy pros with his ALL+ Round game.

Ratings for 2.1mm. I played Tenergy 05 for about 1.5 years. I used it on Timo Boll ZLF blade and Timo Boll ZLC blade. I think Tenergy 05 is the best Tenergy. I like the feeling a lot more than Tenergy 05 FX. 2.1 weighs 49g. I have tried 1.9, but didn't find more control. It takes a long time to get used to Tenergy because the catapult effect is non linear - I found you have to change the racket angle a lot depending on how fast you brush the ball when looping. If you are able to close the racket angle almost flat and brush the ball with high speed then the ball will fly out with excellent spin. When you are on your A game, this rubber will deliver winners, but if you are tired or your mind is not in the game this rubber will punish you. A lot of people use this rubber without knowing how to use it effectively because they see so many pros use it. Avoid putting this on stiff blades, even pros don't do this. I like this for backhand in 2.1 because you can do flicks over table easily and loops behind the table. On forehand I find this rubber is best mid distance, but I prefer to play closer to the table. Like others have said, this rubber is amazing on looping and flicks, but everything else like chopping, blocking or pushing is just okay. You need to have excellent touch control, which takes a long time to develop.

17-06-2018:-Amazing rubber, but not easy to use if you are just recreational player who does not like to do hours of practice drills.Flat hits will always go out-very bouncy.Even high balls have to be looped...not hit flat. But if you loop drive.....boy ...the ball is grabbed by the rubber and looped in a lovely arc--beautiful to see, great sensation and feeling....just admire your game is not easy.Chop/push is below the quality offered by Rakza 7...or goldarc 8.Underspin serve is too spinny....opponent look at their blade to see if the ball was love it.
key Points:-
1.BH flick is awesome.....lifts backspin easily wit proper technique(took me 2 yrs to get a mild hold on this)
2.Serve is ok....not the most spinny, but still very strong
3.Snakes=best rubber for this shot.
4.Loop drives=lethal
5.Blocks= average....its a attacking/looping rubber.....blocks need huge adjustment in blade angle,even then most will go out.Best blocking rubber=Nanoflex FT48,Joola Mambo-H,Aurus,Diginics(too good).
6.This save ur energy-you don't need to use all your power/energy-now I know why TIMO BOLL seems to be hitting baby swing shots, but the have such venomous spin and speed too.
