It works well with stiffer blades. If you find it 2 springy, use regular 05. I think it is a bit 2 soft for forehand. Probably the best backhand rubber, banana flicks are way better with this one than regular 05, easier to perform, other than that regular Ten05 is better to me. On soft, flexible blades it can be really spin sensitive and hard to control. Not that good for beginners. I would say since it doesn't provide that good of a blade feeling compared to other soft rubbers from this range of hardness. I would say you need blade with really good feeling and control if you wanna start with this one as your BH rubber. I can defnitely get a better feedback from Ten05FX on blades that have harder outer ply.
To me it is one of the top BH rubbers. It is not as "feedback-y", explosive and ball bending as XIOM Vega Europe, but it is overall more direct and better if you have proper technique.

I tried for some sessions is the perfect bh rubber, crazy quality another time form butterfly !
I use this rubber for BH with Butterly LGY ALC, decent amoint of speed, control and great spin. Flicks are very easy, the balls sinks into the rubber, if you are backhand looper this is for you. its feels like T05 but more controlled.
Comparing it to Tenergy 05, it is an even easier to play with rubber. For me it was way too soft on the forehand, but for the backhand it felt too fast. I like the control of it, but the high throw angle made it too easy for my opponents. I could impart a lot of Spin in my shots with this. In the end I stopped playing with it, as it was too expensive and too soft for my liking.
I recently got Tenergy 05fx 1.9mm for my forehand. I loop, chop, block, flat hit with my forehand so my rubber has to keep up with everything. This rubber is the best for my playing style. You can't attack all the time so you have to have a controlled play to look for a counter. This rubber does it all. I totally recommend this for all-around to offensive players with some experience.
Durabilit correcte si on prend soin. Plus de 6 mois pour de lentrainement / 3 mois si on veut utiliser tout leur potentiel en comptition.

This is a good rubber from Butterfly. It is considerably softer than the regular 05. It has an okay speed, good spin and good control.
On the other hand, you have to watch out at receiving serves, it can sometimes be tricky.

I started playing table tennis in a club months ago. There I received my first more serious racket, two 05FXs with an Alpha blade. Everything I got was already used, so I couldn't feel their full potential and maximum, but what I could feel that it is a good rubber.
It has a soft feeling with plenty of spin. The speed is average, although might be a bit slow for me. The control is okay, if you have the right technique and touch you will not suffer big problems with such things like returning a serve. Definitely this is a rubber for a beginner+ or an intermediate- player, paired with an average blade.

An excellent rubber for advanced players, but beginners and intermediates should choose something more forgiving if they want to play with a soft tensor (Rakza 07 Soft is a good alternative). Tenergy 05FX has monster spin, kicks like a mule, great for serving, blocks well (at least for me, though others complain), and the softness gives extra dwell and confidence compared to other Tenergies, though it still requires some time to master the soft touches. It also chops well on the right blade, especially in thinner sponges. Loops, predictably, are of the can't miss variety, and it has great gears as well. Too fast and bouncy for me personally, and the price is way too high, too, but worth the money for serious league players with good technique who get regular table time and want a (slightly!) tamer Tenergy.
J'ai mis la 05 fx sur revers, mais pour le bloque trs difficile contrler avec l'effet rebond de la mousse. Je l'ai essay sur le coup droit et la rotation pas top. Personnellement je suis pas trs amateur de ce revtement.
I don't like this one. It's just too soft. I don't know who can play with it in this modern era. Pure T05 much much better option for both FH and BH.
I have always played FH centered. This rubber is perfect for my BH because i get the controll I need to puch and open the point, and then let my FH do the job. I have not learn to use the speed, I am trying to use the spin to get the ball up and end it with my forehand. I dont use it to do BH serve, not even i doubble, I am spining my racket to get my FH side DHS gold arc 8 so get even more spin ore speed.

Just like Tenergy 05, this rubber is not for beginners. It's pretty hard to control, especially on short strokes. But, overall, it's a great rubber for advanced players who already have a good technique. As for me, it's overpriced, you can get? say, Xiom or Yasaka tensors at much lower cost.
9.3/10 for OFF style. FH: Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft, 2.2mm, 44g (0.217g/cm^2), 39.5 degrees (ESN), 33 degrees (Shore A). BH: Butterfly Tenergy 05 FX, 2.1mm, 46g (0.225g/cm^2), 32 degrees (Shore A). Blade: Butterfly Primorac Carbon, 88g, 157mm x 150mm x 6.9mm (Width x Height x Thickness). Plies: 5 (3 Wood + 2 Composite): Hinoki - Tamca - Kiri - Tamca - Hinoki.

To me FX plays alot like regular T05 except a little less bouncy. Using it on the backhand of a Butterfly SK Carbon blade. My favorite combination yet. Still curious to try out new Dignics 05, but i have a feeling that T05fx will be my new permanent backhand rubber coming from regular T05.
Added needed control to my backhand. Working well for flicks and blocking, have to strike a little harder away from the table. Very happy with it.
Blade : Cornilleau Hinotec OFF+ carbon ; 1.9mm; black; 43g. BackHand (BH).
First impression : very similar to Rasanter R42. High dwell time, "click" sound when playing mid distance. Quite high/medium throw angle, not so speedy, but faster than TSP Ventus spin (this one has the lowest sponge hardness, it is like slippers !). Good in block, good for chikita, but not fast.
If you are looking for a secure rubber for spin at mid distance, T05 is better. If you play all-round, T05-FX is maybe a good choice, but pricy. Maybe better to consider R42 which is very closed to T05-FX and less expensive. Not convinced.

Outstanding rubber and sponge in all aspects what more can I say. 5 Stars and a 10. Using 2.1 Max on both sides of a Donic Waldner World Champion '89 blade. Great combination: Total weight 189 grams.
throw less than 05,but still huge spin, flat hits not easy.Best BH rubber I have ever tried.
So... shockingly, I've been taking good care of my paddle these last few years. At times, I've played everyday... other times, once a month or less. I've had these rubbers on my paddle for the last four years. I've been using the Butterfly Rubber Film, and then placing the paddle in a paddle cover. I kept hearing that these will dry up in no time... but my paddle is still in great condition, and I don't see a need to replace the rubber yet. Maybe next year. By the way, these pads have been far more stickier and than other paddles I've tried... so much so... that I have a hard time playing with anything else than these. Also these have enough bounce for me to reflect the ball back on the back hand with a slight push. I use these on my forehand and also the backhand.

I am a modern defender, i use a buttefly defensive blade with tenergy 05fx and long pips cloud and fog 3. This rubber is for intermediate to advanced players. Many gears but the only shot which is difficult is the punch. Great for picking up backspin. Nice high throw on the ball as well. Alot of money. And the price keeps going up. As much as i love this rubber i don't want to keep paying over the top prices.
Ratings for 2.1mm. Played for 1 year with Tenergy 80 on forehand and Tenergy 05 FX on backhand of Timo Boll ZLF. Tenergy 05 FX is a softer version of Tenergy 05. There is less spin and the speed is about the same. The softness adds more dwell time. Top gear of this rubber is not as crazy as Tenergy 05 or Tenergy 80. The rubber will bottom out when you hit hard or from far away because it's too soft, the number of gears is lower. The extra dwell time allows you to control blocks better, but this is a bouncy rubber like other tenergies so the short game is not better than harder tenergies. It weighs 45g. I prefer harder rubbers because of extra gears they provide. You can get away with worse technique with this rubber because of extra dwell time, but it will not help you in the long run if you are trying to improve. Still, if you are into soft rubbers on stiffer blades perhaps, this can work. The price is way too high. Enjoy playing!
Great alternative for players who think Tenergy 05 is so hard and not easy to control. It has the same great spin potential as 05 but is not so fast, is not too bouncy. Better overall control and easier short play and play above the table.
This fx not suit me. Not today. Maybe onother day.. Feel like dead rubber. Prefer fh t05, bh t64, feel alive. Just my personal view.
This is a very good backhand rubber. But to make the most of the rubber you must have a very good technique.
The rubber is fast, spinny and has a lot of control.

Going through my 2nd sheet of this rubber, I can say that it is for players who have experience with applying topspin. This is an awesome rubber,I strongly recommend it :D

I'm really impressed by this rubber, playing it in 1.7 mm/FH. It's fast (maybe a bit too fast for me, tbh) but easily controllable. I'd say its base speed is not very high but when you hit harder it gets really speedy, especially away from the table. The amount of spin I can generate with it is tremendous, got no other rubber like this. It's absolutely not for beginners, though, you have to have your angles and movements right. I find it quite hard to lift backspin shots. I'll keep this rubber in mind for when I play better.
Awesome rubber i can literally do anything with this rubber except for flat hitting(which with proper training should not be a problem).Ball just flies off the bat so no need to exert force the spring sponge will do it for you..you just have to give it proper parabolic trajectory and boom the ball goes very fast and bouncy.Your opponents will be caught off gaurd gauranteed .This rubber i can suggest mainly for backhand since its very unforgiving
This is the best rubber of even for speed players, best top-spin, best controll, absolutely stunning!!!
Everything it's better except flat hitting, but after a little bit training overcomes this obstacle

Good bh rubber, throw angle is medium high, easy to play. This is my new bh rubber,T 64 too fast for mi,only problem with T 05 FX is the flat shot and smash,i must to play with strong topspin shot, but the control is amazing.
I really have to say, I love this rubber, but I'm just not there yet, the rubber can do unbelievable things, speed is blistering, shots are direct even when you are far away from the table, the big draw back is that you have to stay on offense, you cannot switch to a defensive game because this rubber is very unforgiving, your strokes must be flawless or the ball will be way off the table, you cannot block, you must counter drive, if you try to block you will most likely be punished because the rebound angle is high, once you have mastered an attacking game, I cannot imagine there would be a better rubber. All my friends ask "what rubber is that" , because the shots are so direct and blazing fast,
Softer than the normal 05, thus it gives you more spin, a little bit less speed, but it's also more sensitive to incoming spin. Personally, I'd recommend the 05 over the FX version, but it varies from player to player. It might have slightly more control, but if you're a CONSISTENT looper (can loop over 20x in a row without much trouble) I'd get the 05.
OVERALL: 9.0/10
Surprisingly slow for tenergy series this rubber is for players who want to play big slower more spinny loops rather than fast play. Spin is awesome control is ok considering it is a rubber for advanced players. Serves a loaded with spin as well with pushes and chops. Many choppers use it on FH because it has great versatility between looping and chopping with a lot of spin. Great rubber only problem is price of $67 per sheet. You can get rubbers close to quality of this for cheaper.

Good rubber, but it's still to fast for me. I think the spring sponge technology give the springy feels when hitting the ball. But it's still too springy. But now I understand why many pros like to use tenergy rubber.
Top rubber but plenty of rubber are out there now as good if not better at lower price. This rubber still one of the best minus the price.
Im using this rubber on bh , i dont like it for fh ... it has little lower throw then t05 .. its little bit slower, but control its bigger
on bh u can do allmost everything (and defensive strokes)..i recommend it for all round top spin / loop attacker and its also good for counters and blocks(this characteristic is simular on 05),for advanced players , not for beginers
upd - its a lot better for reciving serves than normal t05..
flicks from table are fast, it has high throw , but not high like t05... and u can give a lot of rotation.. for me its bh rubber, but a lot 1st ligue and superligue players use it for forehand...

Best BH rubber i've ever tried coming from T64 it can do it all except just a tad slower if compared with T64
I bought this for my BH, and at first I wasn't too impressed. It's advertised as being a "control" version of Tenergy, but it is still quite fast and is very attack-oriented. I had to adjust a bit at first to compensate for the catapult from the sponge.
Once I adjusted my stroke, I felt like I can do anything with this rubber. BH flicks, opening loops, drives, blocks were all very confident and effective.
I flipped my racket around and started using it on my FH and I think I like it even more. Even from very close to the table, I feel like I can load up my attack shots and not miss. It is without a doubt the best rubber I've experienced for looping backspin balls.
Even if I don't make optimal contact, my shots feel very effective, and many of my opponents couldn't deal with my opening loops.

Great rubber for allround (BH) play. Tremendous spin. Great for opening shots with spin. Outstanding feel close and far from the table. If combined with a hard OFF- blade, it also provides decent hitting power. Rubber is brittle and crumbles quickly. The 'honey period' of this rubber is short (less than 2 months), as it kind of 'dies' (=slows down) after some time. It is a heavy rubber. There are rubbers with better quality:price ratios out there.
Good for blocking, topspin, looping, serving, smashing and pushes.
The price should drop and only league/advanced players should buy this otherwise it is a waste of money.

Requires less effort than Tenergy 05. Typical soft rubber benefits like dwell time, and more spin/speed on slower shots. Lower throw angle than 05. Not as strong for drives or loops.
Better for chop than 05. Surprisingly more difficult to block.

There is all kind of crap circulating around about this rubber. I don't know if those who call it overrated, etc, have tried dozens of other rubbers, each one for months or even years of intensive training, or if they have already found at least the blade that fits their individual style of play, but if so, they must have purchased their T05FX at the local butcher's, as it is a masterpiece. Kicks as it has to, formidable blocks, enough spin, and smashes like a sledgehammer. Even kids play with it in our team, and they love it, no problem once used to, after a few hours of play. Definitely a European-style rubber, for looping, killing, enjoying. Enjoy!
In my opinion this is the best rubber on BTY Spirit blade. Supreme for looping close/ mid. After a short adjustment period your play will have great spin, good control, and plenty of speed even with 1.9 thickness. Side spin loops have severe break. Service return can be tricky until you learn to tame it. Sensitive to spin but better than regular T05. Not for beginners. Great for BH and FH. Blocking is very good however flat hitting needs adjustment in your stroke. Medium-high throw with a slight click sound when new. Great spin on serves. Works outstanding on Spirit blade but also as a BH rubber on BTY M. Maze. A superb rubber from butterfly.
I have this on my bh, it feels like I can't miss. It feels amazing, soft, good speed, great spin and good control. Very good for every playing style. I have this in 1.9mm on a timo boll all+ and it performs awesome. It is very reactive too spin, so it's not for beginners.
T-05 FX imho is a better rubber than T-05 for an average advanced amateur player. T-05 is very sensitive (to the incoming spin, that is) and is not easy to control in short game. T-05 FX is still pretty sensitive but its overall control is better, and it makes up for it in other qualities. It is slightly slower than regular T-05, has about same throw angle. Plays beautifully on BH, great blocking, and opening loops are much easier. However if your blade (overall speed) is not fast enough you might have some problems adjusting your kill-loops. The positive side is that you can put this one on very fast blades like Amultart or Schlager Carbon and the combo will behave in a pretty good manner (control-wise).
Don't forget that virtually all Tenergy rubbers require attention and constant working-the-ball approach - you cannot get lazy. T-05 FX is slightly better in that regard but still it will punish you for careless pushes or if you simply put the racket in front of a spinny ball.

This is my backhand. it follows my eyes and spirit.
Very best backhand ever guys.
perfect for incoming serves returns, and you can truly control your balls in rallies.
simply 10/10. well done butterfly

This is hands down the best backhand rubber I have ever used. I can topspin anything with this, as well as counter-loop. The only downside to this rubber is that it is terrible for flat blocks and hits, but if you add your own topspin to these shots, they become more consistent and lethal.
Just changes from Tenergy 05 to Tenergy 05-fx after feels that t05 is so hard and found many problems in topspins and opening loops with it.
After my first session with Tenergy 05-fx for both BH & FH on Butterfly Jun Mizutani :
WooooW
Amazing control.
Very easy top spin
Too loaded spin when serving
Deadly side- spin became possible.
About backhand :
Very managed
Top spin is lower throw angel and feels great.
Simply :
feeling as a dream.
More dwell time
Needs to test the blocking and the rally feel and make a complete vision of this awesome Rubber.

Very linear rubber to t05 just a bit less speed and more control suits best at backhand :) for players who want very good control in their strokes and a lot of spin, much more controllable in backhand than the regular 05!
This FX Tenergy version is good for blocking and the short game. It's a little bit slower and for me, harder to generate spin with. You have to generate a fair amount of spin in your counterstrokes otherwise the ball trajectory will be to high and your oponent will put the ball away..easily.
pretty amazing rubber... i have tried all of the tenergy line... i think the slightly softer fx of the 05 is the best of the bunch for an overall combo of spin, speed and control.. hard to beat this rubber and even worth that expensive price i suppose..
Best rubber I ever played with! Don't forget that picking the right blade is as important as picking the right rubber!
Great rubber. Just a little bit slower and a bit less spin than t 05 but with much more control.
playing a modern def game on all+blade tenergy 05fx 1.7 and feint III 1.1,this is a nice combination for both topspin and chop,on this blade the tenergy does both very well the backspin is the highest out of all the smooth rubbers i have tried(more than a thin sponged tacky chop)also most spin i have acheived when serving...very happy(except the price)
I have used this rubber a couple of times on my robot and I am slowly getting used to it. I was originally using express 2 1.8mm sponge on my forehand but now I have switched to tenergy 05 fx. I did not use free chack to glue it but I did use joola x glue. The rubber is certainly not slow but it is not as fast as the 05. Topspinning backspin ball is a lot easier due to the softer sponge.
its a superb rubber no doubt (i use it on FH/BH) with a korbel sk7 with i have given my opinion too [named as: Korbel SK7] its litle quite slower than what i expected comparing to 64 but the control is awesome in all ocasions {i like to play very close to the table} but if get a strong opponet witch makes me go long away the rubber will respond well, the top sheet should/could be more flexible like 64 (witch is perfect) could have more spin (dont know how) after all i realy think that the best rubber ever will be tenergy 64-fx (that is surrely need to maintain speed but i totaly want them to put more spin on it [what i think its going to happen becaise of the softer sponge witch holds the ball longer than the normal sponge. other opition is to invest into some new sponge hardness using kind of hich tune and solcions techs to increase co!

very similar to the t05 but with less spin, longer dwell time, more flexibility and more control. if you play offensive almost near the table and like medium or soft rubbers with a lot of spin buy it!
Similar power to Tenergy 05 but just a little bit less. Very easy to play with in comparison to the original though.
This rubber is awesome!
Dudes try this one for your forehand and buy a xiom vega pro for the backhand it's an awesome combination .

The best rubbers I have ever used, I am a club level and maybe u think that this rubbers are for professional players only, and its wrong!.
If you are an intermediate player but you know how to use the right stroke its a very very very fast and rubber and it has a lot of effect.
if you know how to play with all the techniques, you must try them

Compared to tibhar sinus , and genius and sriver fx and mark V ( with glue ) this one does everything better except flat hitting, u need to use spin to control the ball, without spin, the high throw angle is a bit unpredictable.
this rubber excells for topspin, counter topspin, serving and blocking, the short game is not so easy, but still ok.
for the moment my favourite rubber, between FX and normal version, i prefer the FX definetly more control, i use a gergerly blade.
i also like the genius a lot but on my gergerly its too fast compared with tenergy......
this rubber excells for topspin, counter topspin, serving and blocking, the short game is not so easy, but still ok.

LA 05 FX MANTIENE LAS CARACTERISTICAS DE LA 05 PERO CON UN MAYOR CONTROL, PERDIENDO UN POCO DE EFECTO PERO NO ES MUY SIGNIFICATIVO.
MUY ADECUADA PARA EL GUGADOR QUE GUEGA A LA CONTRA, CON EXCELENTES BLOQUEOS Y TOP SPIN CON MUCHA ROTACION.

A softer version of T05, this one has a different (softer) sponge, unlike the rest of the Tenergy range which use identical sponges.
This makes it lighter (but only slightly - still heavier than most), loses a bit of top speed, and has a slight click to it if you try hard enough (if you're into your clicky noise rubbers).
It's being marketed as the "control" version of Tenergy, but be careful with that. It's still quick, still reacts strongly to incoming spin, and the short game is still tricky. But I found it much easier when hitting, driving over the table and (crucually) blocking.
If you've adjusted to regular Tenergy's quirks, but want something with a touch more control (say, on the backhand side), then this is worth a go. But it's definitely not an allround control rubber.
