Lightweight, 7-Ply Balsa Blade

The BalsaCarbo X7 22 blade is the best of both worlds. This 5W+2C blade utilizes a thick Balsa wood center ply in conjunction with 2 carbon plies. As a result, players are able to maintain exceptional touch without sacrificing power.

The soft feel makes over-the-table play, especially blocking, effortless and effective. Since the balsa keeps the blade, you can still use heavier rubbers and not lose maneuverability.

Pairing this blade with Tenergy 64 FX is recommended for players looking to loop and block their way to victory. For players seeking something more direct, the flatter trajectory of Challenger Attack short pips will give your opponents fits.

To increase the grip on this blade, you can add Soft Grip Tape, providing grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice to extend the longevity of your racket is adding side tape to the blade, protecting the wood in the event it is hit on the table.

• The BalsaCarbo X7 22 is the perfect blade for those seeking both exceptional power and touch
• With a lightweight thick Balsa center ply, it is easy to generate high swing speeds, increasing power
• Two carbon fibers lend stability and power for attacking players
• Designed for close-to-the-table play, but with plenty of power to execute from mid-distance
• The perfect marriage of the highly-sought Balsa feel with the added power of carbon fiber plies

FAQ: Does Megaspin sell Japan-made Butterfly blades?

Some Butterfly blades like Korbel and Grubba are produced in factories both in Europe and in Japan, so they exist in 2 variants. When a Japanese blade has a Europe-made version, we always carry the Japanese variant. Other blades like Butterfly Timo Boll Offensive are only made in China so we cannot carry a Japanese variant of these blades.

FAQ: Do Butterfly blades come pre-sealed?

All Butterfly blades come pre-sealed from the factory. There is no need to add blade sealing but you may if you require additional protection.

Reviews of Butterfly BalsaCarbo X7 22 (2)

I have been using this blade for 7 months now. I used to play with the BTY Gergely for about 10 years before I stopped playing. When I resumed playing in October 2022 after a 6-year hiatus, I was uncertain about which blades or rubbers to choose. Due to my tennis elbow, I wanted a lightweight blade, so I opted for this one, which is also reasonably priced. Initially, I paired this blade with R45 on both sides, and I loved it. While it was a soft setup, it was perfect for me as I was getting back into the game. The blade offered a lot of control; it wasn't extremely fast but was fast enough for my needs. I prefer a controlled style of play, so this suited me well. Consequently, I purchased a second blade. Now, I'm using R53 on the forehand and T05 on the backhand. I adore this combination as it provides both control and the necessary speed when required. It performs exceptionally well both close to the table and at a distance, given you have good technique. It's a thick and relatively fast blade, weighing around 73g. I think I'll stick with this for a while.

Very impressed by this blade. After a quite long search and after trying various blades, I will probably stick with this one for a while. Carbon blades are normally to stiff and rigid for me. This blade however gives me loads of feeling and control. Especially in short game and touch game it plays very easy. What stands out to me the most is the consistency of this blade. First time I tried a balsa blade and it just feels right. Flat hits are decent, looping feels just good and blocking is dream. Not sure what type of rubbers would suit best for this blade. I am play Rasanter42 on BH and Rasanter45 on FH. Works very well so far.
