FAQ: Does Megaspin sell Japan-made Butterfly blades?

Some Butterfly blades like Korbel and Grubba are produced in factories both in Europe and in Japan, so they exist in 2 variants. When a Japanese blade has a Europe-made version, we always carry the Japanese variant. Other blades like Butterfly Timo Boll Offensive are only made in China so we cannot carry a Japanese variant of these blades.

FAQ: Do Butterfly blades come pre-sealed?

All Butterfly blades come pre-sealed from the factory. There is no need to add blade sealing but you may if you require additional protection.

Reviews of Butterfly Timo Boll ALC (104)

Mine weighs 84gm. Coming to this from mostly wood or inner carbon blades so the gradual shifting, hence the review will be in that perspective.
I played with fast arc g1 forehand and c1 backhand.
Topspin is very nice with this blade. Counters also very nice. Blocks needs to be active but is more punchy. Push is not bad either.
It is a very nice blade. Huge sweetspot, great feel, very good craftsmanship and perfect balance of speed and control.
I used to think timo boll / viscaria / outer carbon blade is very fast but it wasn't the case. I found this blade to be much better control then inner zlc. zlc is too hard, won't recommend it to most people unless you are Jun Mizutani or similar player.
Apart from this outer carbon I played with one more outer carbon - Xiom hayabusa arx but it's arx is much harder while middle layer being softer so it gives hollow feeling. But it's not the case with Timo boll.
Now I understand the premium of Butterfly because the quality is top-notch. If someone is intermediate player and looking to upgrade, they can buy this once and won't need to worry again.
So in summary, very nice blade and worth every penny for offensive players.

Hi there. I play with next combo: Viscaria, FH 05, BH 09C. Every Thursday a play with a friend with his next combo: TB ALC, FH 09C BH 09C. Before we play the game, we change our blades while warming up. My impressions regarding both blades are next ; TB ALC vibrates and it vibrates a lot. It vibrates in all spectrum from week to strong hits. I have experiences with vibrations. I Played with Gewo Karakasevic Scepter before Viscaria. It vibrated too, but not in that spectrum likewise TB ALC. It vibrated only with strong hits. That was one of the reasons I changed it with Visaria. Just to be sure, I asked my friend and he had the same impressions about both blades (Viscaria and TB ALC). One thing to be clear; I do not say that vibrations with his TB ALC blade influence my hits, I do not have such an impression, but they influence my game mentally. If you are OK with vibrations mentally, it will not influence your game in any way and you can go for TB ALC. Just one thing: my Viscaria has no any vibration at all and I am fully satisfied with it. If you do not know if vibrations affect you in any way, my advise is next: try TB ALC and see if that blade have vibrations. If yes, ask yourself if they influence your game in any way. If not, go for it, buy TB ALC. If yes, try something else. Just for the end; My friend and I, we both bought our blades in the same BTY shop and the same shop man glued our rubbers. The most interesting thing there was that I had a dilemma which wood to buy V or TB ALC and I bought Viscaria just because it was the lightest piece of all ie. the lightest piece of TB ALC weighed 95 g and the lightest piece of Viscaria weighed 93 g, so I decided to buy Viscaria. I do not regret now not because of that 2 g but because of all aforementioned.
