Introduced Jan 2009

Spin is the most important element of modern table tennis. Not only the strength of spin but also the stability and secure feel have been desired by many players. VEGA series is the realization of the dream. VEGA is the mixture of two new technologies - HYPER ELASTO and CARBO SPONGE. Both of them are based on TENSOR technology which gives rubber the effect of built-in tension. HYPER ELASTO provides extreme spin and stability, and black colored CARBO SPONGE provides innovative efficiency of energy. Further, the feel of VEGA is exciting but comfortable. Its ease of use will help players play “winning” table tennis. Now four variations are available. All of them provide exceptional spin capability. VEGA PRO is for extreme spin, softer VEGA ASIA is for more speed, VEGA EUROPE is softer with more control, and finally, the softest VEGA ELITE is for extreme control.

Reviews of XIOM Vega Europe (128)

I purchased this rubber for both my backhand and forehand, pairing it with a 9-ply carbon blade (Loki V9). This has been an impressive upgrade from my previous hard Chinese rubbers (Reactor V5).

One thing to note is that you won't be able to play passively near the net due to the high catapult effect. However, once you adapt and adopt a more aggressive style, this rubber becomes a formidable weapon. For those who think it’s slow for the forehand, this might be influenced by the blade you're using. With my 9-ply blade, I can easily hit winners and generate significant speed.

While looping isn’t as effective compared to other tackier rubbers, it performs adequately. The control is exceptional, thanks to the longer dwell time this rubber provides.

I am over 40 years old and was looking for a rubber that would offer a good balance of speed and spin, along with excellent control, to help me improve my technique and eventually transition to a harder, faster rubber in the future. The Xiom Vega Europe was perfect for that purpose. I used a red max Xiom Vega Europe on my backhand, and it performed superbly. While it also works well on the forehand, I personally prefer a harder rubber for that side. With the Vega Europe, I could do everything I needed: serving, looping, returning, aiming, and executing top spins. The extra control allowed me to return difficult balls effectively. For beginners and intermediate players, successfully returning a challenging shot often forces the opponent to make a mistake, even if the ball is slightly high. Less skilled players tend to send high balls into the net or out of bounds. If you're a beginner or intermediate player looking to improve your techniques, this rubber is a fantastic option. it's affordable, durable, and reliable.

Mid soft. Gummy topsheet allowing for brushing and loopdriving as well. Great for backhand. Gears are average and great in blocking, countering flat and medium speed loops but nothing that will cause damage beyond moving them around. Not a speed monster but a very good alternative to something like T05FX. Too soft for forehand but perfect for learners and those who want control through blocking and placement with spin. Not bad for its price. Works best with stiff blades and low dwell time because it dwells quite a bit already.

Fantastic BH rubber for intermediate level players like me who are two winged loopers. The rubber nearly has the control of a Mark V but with a controllable catapult effect, which, in addition to adding gears, makes VE far more interesting with which to play.

Ideal intermediate setup: H301/TBS/INNERFORCE ALC or ZLC + 09C (FH) + Vega Europe (BH).
