Reviews of Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive (85)
Hello everyone.
Ive played about 10 hours with the YEO. Before that, I was playing with an Andro Kanter ALL. I kept the same rubbers (EL-S 2.0 mm / EL-P 1.8 mm), but in thinner versions (they were max and 2.0) to try to compensate for the speed. With the YEO, the ball trajectory is lower and flatter. Its strange to have to open my racket on backhand blocks to prevent the balls from diving into the net. Ive lost some touch in the short game and on service returns. The YEO is clearly faster. I feel more comfortable playing very aggressive third-ball attacks and offensive blocks. I think Im going to keep the YEO and try to adapt in order to regain my touch.
Really like this blade. I use it with sanwei target national on forehand and Tibhar K3 on backhand. Excellent feeling and control with very consistent speed. The only thing I do not appreciate is the vibration - a little bit more than I like. Overall, this is really good.
Very nice controlable blade with beautiful feelling. Not so fast for someone who plays 1-2 years. Requires good technic to unlock its potential. Very good spin potential, high arc compared to Viscaria, needs some time to get used to that, especially smashes. Used with Rakza 7. Totally recomended for someone who wants to develop his technic or someone who is advanced and wants a controllable all wood feeling blade. For me as an intermediate attacker it is a bit slower than what i would like.

Great blade for combination inverted with short pips for BH due to hard outer ply. Sweet spot is medium-large with the right vibration. Best blade I have reviewed that pairs very well with Chinese tacky rubbers. Might suggest a light sanding when new to soften the edges at the bottom of the wings. AN grip feels outstanding, not to thick or thin. Good at all distances from table. Some Euro tensors feel nice but can be a bit to bouncy on this blade. Rakza 7, Rozena, T64 Fx, Dragon Grip, Hurricaines work well. A great offensive all wood blade that has become a legend.
