The banning of treated fr-lps due to excessive randomness is a red herring IMO.

If he wants to make TT more popular he should do whatever he can to provide an (unfair?) advantage to defensive players. I for one am bored of watching 3 hit rallies by 2 attacking players using superfast rubbers on superfast blades dripping with speed glue.

How much more interesting is it to see a chopper return smash after smash, loop after loop metres away from the table...do you not hear the crowds cheering as they do so?
That makes great TV!

However choppers are increasingly playing with their hands tied behind their backs. They have to deal with bigger balls,worse aspect ratios to their pips, lack of decent training (as Sharara himself admits) and power rubbers/glues, now fr-lps are banned.

It's not as if there are (m)any players in the top 500 using them, so how much of an unfair advantage can they be?

Are we to believe that chinese viewers are turning away in their millions at their disgust at the excessive random nature of fr-lps? Do they even understand what that means? Have any of them even seen them being used?

It's a total non-issue and it's all become a bit too one sided to the detriment of the game.
