Reviews of XIOM Vega Korea (4)

I wrote a long review about the Vega Korea on my blog. Feel free to check it out: https://doppeldropshot.wordpress.com/2025/12/14/rubber-review-xiom-vega-korea/
In its uncut state, the Vega Korea weighs 68g. Cut to my An Jaehyun TMXi Pro blade (160152), it came in at 51g. Drive: Ball feel and blade feedback are excellent, giving me full control over placement. The speed was a pleasant surprise, far from slow, making it easy to generate good pace. Loop: Due to the softer sponge, it is quite easy to let the ball sink, and you can feel the ball and your blade very well. Since the ball sinks into the sponge effortlessly, speed is generated quite easily and you only have to focus on making good spin. In my opinion, the VK works best closer to the table and when playing with medium power. For both low- and medium power shots, the spin generation will be very good and sufficient to create a safe arc. The arc in general was of medium height, neither too low nor too high, just right for the backhand. On the other hand, when playing further away from the table, you will feel a lack of power. Block: Passive blocks are very safe with moderate speed and high control. While its harder to pressure opponents compared to harder rubbers, control is much easier. On active blocks and topspin-to-topspin close to the table, the VK excels at overwriting incoming spin. Serve Receive: Pushes were precise, low and safe over the net without technical adjustments. On active receives, the grippy topsheet made looping long serves easy. Final Thoughts: Vega Korea is an enjoyable, easy-to-use rubber that encourages close-to-the-table play. It offers a strong balance of speed, spin, and control, shining on medium-power strokes. Compared to older Vega models, it adds enough speed and dynamism to support a modern backhand game without sacrificing control. I can recommend it to players who enjoy rallies and want a rubber that helps them get into them.

Im switching from a Yinhe V14 Pro paired with Tenergy 19 on my backhand to a Yinhe T11S with Vega Korea. My main goal is to reduce weight to spare my shoulders and use a heavier hybrid rubber on my forehand. For my backhand, I wanted a medium-height rubber with good overall performance, so I started testing Vega Korea. The rubber offers decent spin with a strong "kick," enabling powerful backhand strokes close to the table. However, after several practice sessions, I found that executing flicks and blocks can be challenging. This rubber has an elastic power that I struggle to control on slow balls, such as banana flicks. When I twist my wrist vigorously, I succeed, but it still requires considerable effort on my part.

Best rubber for both side; But I recommend for Bh side ; Top spin is ok; control is awesome & very high accuracy in placements; especially playing against negative rubbers supports good. Combination with high speed blade for FH side or else go with Bh side.If u got good power can play in fh side. Long lasting I was using daily for 3 hours still works best. Mainly less weight compare to other rubbers. decent price too.Can give a try.

When I first tried the Vega Korea rubber, I found it intensedefinitely not for beginners! However, after a month of breaking it in, it transformed. The rubber became much more stable with excellent control. The click tensor provides a solid, dynamic punch, almost like a more versatile version of the Vega Pro but with a slightly softer feel and less speed.

Ive been using this rubber for six months, about three times a week, and it's still going strong. There's hardly any degradation, and no chips on the edgesvery durable! Honestly, this is one of the most underrated rubbers out there.

The only downside is that the initial dynamic feel and satisfying click diminish after a few months, but it becomes a more controlled, all-rounder rubber. It still has impressive grip and nice tensor feel. making it easy to generate spin, and it's incredibly versatilecomparable to Rakza 7 but even spinier. For intermediate players, its an "all-in-one" option, pairing well with an OFF-/OFF+ blade. It offers solid speed, impressive control, and isnt overly sensitive to incoming spin. Highly recommended if youre looking for a balanced rubber with great spin potential!
