TSP Super Spinpips Chop 2 is the ultimate chop weapon. TSP Superspinpips Chop 2 is a unique pips-out rubber with a very special sponge. Similar to to regular Superspinpips Chop, Chop 2 carries a super spinny top sheet. However Chop 2 comes with a supersoft sponge which is designed to cushion your opponents attack shots. The combination of super spin with super soft sponge will allow you to produce a great knuckle effect easily on your backhand in combination with super spin. This can be troublesome for your opponents.

TSP Super Spinpips combines the excellent pimple surface with a controlled, slightly slower sponge. This combination strengthens the pimples effect and gives an extremely better control. Additionally, like with all Spinpips rubbers, individual spin variations are possible.

This rubber is perfect for chopping and also for those wanting to try new or different strokes when chopping.

Reviews of TSP Super Spinpips Chop 2 (4)

This is the slowest short pip I've seen. Very grippy, closer to an inverted rubber than to classic short pips like Spectol. It's not deceptive and can't create knuckle balls. With a thicker sponge it becomes too mushy, loosing all feedback. To me the sweet spot is the 1.0-1.3mm

When you read in the description "enables sudden close-to-the-table attacks" you better believe it. I use it in 1.4~1,7 mm sponge with Bluefire JP01 in the backhand, max thickness.
Although known as a defensive rubber it can be used as an offensive short pips if you play penhold style.
Main advantage is its super soft sponge which absorbs opponents energy like no other SP. This makes blocks extremely easy as well as returns of serves.
On the other hand speed is sacrificed of course. It is slower than most of SP but in the thickness I use it provides amazing control when attacking. I can direct the ball to any point of the table with ease, hitting or brushing the ball since it is very spinny. Hitting hard on the top of the bounce is devastating, despite being slower than other SP. It reaches the blade (all wood, 7 plies) easily on impact generating an amazing sound.
Great job Mr. Matsushita! I really loved this rubber.

These pips are literally super spinny. The really soft sponge combined with the grippy top-sheet works wonders in the amount of spin this rubber is capable of creating. In terms of deception, it has none when it comes to reversal; however, in the hands of a skilled player, you can very the spin well and manipulate it. Because the sponge is so soft, the pips can really absorb the pace of strong attacks when chopping. I use in in black at 1.7-1.9 thickness on my BH and even though I couldn't use them well for the first month or so, I'm finally at a point where I've been able to chop back the loops from at least 6 different people more than 3 times; serve receive with this rubber is easier than inverted because it's a pip. I'm using a stiff and hard blade, and the SSPC can be useful for offence when I do the rare BH attack. It is very spin sensitive, to people who are used to the like of frictionless anti will not be used to it. To be honest, I don't think it's very similar to inverted rubber the way everyone who's tried this rubber has claimed. I can see the differences pretty well. Overall, this rubber is a highly-controllable chopping SP if you have the technique, and it creates a lot of spin.
