I'm a two wing looper, very focused on offensive play. I wanted to try long/medium pips on my alt setup (tibhar power wood stratus) so I bought a t88 ultra spin for my forehand, just because it was very cheap.
It is a not so tacky Chinese rubber, but its spin is amazing! No catapult whatsoever, so, if you are really into speed this is not for you.
What you put in every shot is what you get. Very good for beginners or someone wanting to experience the "Chinese side" of rubbers, before going into something like hurrican.
Even on my 5ply I was able to get decent spin and enough speed.
I must advice that I value spin over speed on my game due to me not being physically fit for exchanging power drives rallies, so this rubber despite the price, really gets my game going on the forehand, using heavy topspin loops until I get a good ball to attack (or get counter looped :)
Not for everyone, but very accessible!!
Interesting rubber. My impression is that it has zero catapult but also does not slow down the blade. It basically works aa an eztension of the blade and gives a very honest response. Not tacky. It is very insensitive to incomming spin, but has more than enough grip to produce spinny shots and loops. Since it has no catapult effect, blocking and placement could not be easier. Paired it with a Loki Kiirin K7 (a clipper knock off) so in total my bat has enough speed when I use good technique. For experienced players returning after a long break (like me), this rubber helps rebuild confidence while still having enough performance to play proper TT in a training/local league setting.
All round rubber for attackers and smashers. But no good control or ball to rubber feeling which means before you can control, it bounces out. This one should be renamed to Ultra Bounce. Player with control-oriented style never suited to T88 ultra spin.
Could be faster, but hence also suitable for beginners. Spin and control is good. Overall it is excellent value for money indeed.
I think it's a very good rubber for the price. I put it on my reactor ck2 blade on fh 2.1 mm (boosted 5x), paired with 729 soft 1.9 mm (unboosted) and it's just perfect combination for my allround style. No problem for lifting opponent high spin with loops, just need a wright angel and the ball will landed on the opponent side with maybe even higher spin. Flat hit (after boosted 5x) fast enough and since the rubber not to sticky it's a pretty smooth for drive or smash. For backspin serve or chopping it's just like what sanwei say for this rubber, Ultra Spin!!. This rubber will works very well on the wright blade. I highly recommend to put t88 us on a medium soft or soft blade. It will works just like an expensive or higher rate rubber. With the rigjt amount of booster it will be even better. Very worthfull rubber to try and highly recommended if you want a good rubber with low budget.
