DONIC Bluefire M2

Characteristics: Excellent balance between speed, catapult effect and feel. Recommended for: Players who like to play with Medium Hard rubbers and attach high importance to spin and speed with optimum feeling.

The blue miracle.

Donic's new Bluefire is a completely new rubber development offering top speed. A new high-tech generation of rubbers in the proven Formula FD3-technology has been developed as a result of the perfect combination of the large pored blue sponge with an extremely spinny top surface rubber. The top rubber with its small, long pimpled-in structure lends the rubber the best possible flexibility and sensational feeling. Above all, the Bluefire is unbelievably fast with a characteristic high arc when top-spinning that enables maximum spin and increased speed.

Reviews of Donic Bluefire M2 (42)

Best Forehand for a beginner on all+ non-flexible blade. Topsheet is medium soft, with a lot of grip which provides great spin on brushing motion. To me feels even better than Tenergy05 in that regard. It is not as fast though, which to me is excellent, since T05 is too fast. Bluefire M2, topspins extremely well, arc is prononounced, ball is curving visibly. Dwell time is great, sponge is softy, I would say less than 45 degree, but just a little bit, it flexes really well and it is springy, doesn't feel mushy on forehand like Tibhar FX-P and Rakza X-soft. To me it is the best Forehand and I used variety of rubbers, chinese, hybrid, T05 etc. Blocks are great aswell. I see no faults with this rubber other than it might be too slow for Tenergy users. But to me consistency in topspin, lobs and block is they key. Placement with this rubbers is also great, and high arc gives more safety. Awesome rubber. Definitely my top 1. Beats Rakza Z in every aspect for me.

Not very controlled as catapult is huge and spin is average. You cant hit it very hard as the rubber bottoms out quite early.

The rubber shrinks a lot when you reglue it. Great speed and decent spin. It's the balanced version of bluefire series (not very fast and not very spinny). Can't say about durability as I got them recently for both sides with tibhar samsonov force pro blade. Will take some time to control its speed of you haven't used fast rubbers before.

I use it 2.0 thickness on backhand. 45 degrees sponge, medium hard topsheet, this rubber is special, it gives feeling, dwell and enough power to finish the point: on backhand is critical to have both feeling and power, of course if you use your backhand attacking, as I do. Given the very high throw, open against backspin is easy, but on the other side if you push you must be careful as the ball can easily go long. Also when you topspin your bat angle is critical. Once you have mastered the rubber, M2 is one of the best rubbers on backhand.
