Reviews of Andro Rasanter R48 (22)

Played with R48 on both wings, max thickness for more than 2 full seasons. Very easy to play with, grippy, spinny, controllable. Incredible in counter spin (both close and far from the table). Without tons of speed. Dwell time is really good thanks to thin topsheet & grippiness. It isn't "bouncy" like T05 or MX-P so service-receive & short game can gain a little bit in terms of quality even without proper technique. I'm offensive player, attacking both wings but not super agressive. Rely more on spin & placement, and counter attacking. It suits my style very well. The only downside is durability - After playing 6-10 hour a week (depends on a league calendar) I had to change the sheets after 2,5-3 months because it becomes "dead". Used it on Tibhar Shang Kun Hybrid AC.

Fits very well for my reverse penhold backhand. Quite fast, but very nice control. Medium-high arc and it loops very nicely. Very good rubber to counter backspin. Used on my Xiom feel Zx2 with Dignics 09c on forehand.

I was curious to try the R48 on my FH after using FastArc G1 & DHS G8. It plays a bit the same. It's linear and pretty spinny. What I didn't like at all was the durability. After 2.5 months (5 hours of training /Week and weekly competition), the rubber felt like it was "dead". Huge loss of speed and spin. Not a good deal to me.

I moved to an all wooden blade using MX-S but it lacked the power and spin that I was used to so I switched to Andro R48.

This rubber is a counter attack monster. The speed is far faster than MX-S, no where near the 8.9 rating on this site. At first, I was a little disappointed, I wanted more spin and got way more power instead.
Once I got used to it, it has many gears, touching short is a breeze but when you counter attack, the ball absolutely flies!
When playing off the table, the ball can fall short if I do not properly engage the rubber so good technique is recommended.

Looking forward to playing with it in the coming season.

The R48 Ultra Max is a rubber that offers a softer feel than the 05 and MXP rubbers, and it's slower than both. However, it offers better spin . I personally use this rubber on my backhand, I found it to be too soft for my forehand. I tested it on both the Viscaria and Yasaka Sweden Extra blades,

interestingly, I found that the R48 Ultra Max performed even better on Yasaka blade, providing great feeling and control. However, the sponge on this rubber is quite thick at 2.3mm, so it's important to hit through the ball and let it sink fully into the rubber to avoid slow spinny shots that hit the net . This rubber may not be recommended for beginners or low-intermediate players, as it requires a strong hit with good tachnque to use properly.
