I use this with the Revolution 3 glue. With the clip and the sponge you can get a nice even coat, but you have to be very deliberate with spreading it slowly.

Try to rush, and it generates a lot of bubbles on the blades surface, which you then have to go back over slowly, and deliberately, to smooth them out! No mess or fuss, as you just throw away the sponge after glueing your new rubber onto the blade.

These are pretty good, a bit on the expensive side though.
