Good ply at a reasonable price.....

Nice sweet spot(even better than some carbon blades), not crazy fast with decent control.
Nice craftsmanship, excellent quality of wood, doesn't splinter.
For price (35 euros in my country) very good value.

Great blade for people learning how to play offensive and has a huge sweet apot

Similar speed to my TSPW, with slightly less control. Feeling is quite sharp, due to the walnut outer ply. Also stiffer than TSPW. I tested with soft/medium soft rubbers with medium high throw and it played well. Only rated speed and control '10', to bring average rating numbers up to approximate it's actual speed, which is I believe is closer to the TSPW, as mentioned already.

I have the CPEN version.

When I first used it 4 months ago, I didnt like it cos it felt too 'weak' for me. Maybe that's cos I was using a very hard JPEN with short pimples so I got used to the ferocious power. I didnt use The MA LIN much after that, but TODAY.... after some thought, I took it out and did some heavy and fast LOOPING with it. WOW.... what a beast ! The blade immediately felt like a Bullet flying out from a gun! My 2 regular sparring players were stunned at the speed and insane amount of spin this Blade produced.

Here's the thing you need to know about using this blade: You NEED to go all out with your LOOPING....with proper LEG power technique involved to give the velocity required to be unleashed on this blade. If you can do it correctly, you will be rewarded with delightfully fast and powerful looping that will torment all your opponents! This blade is not for the lazy player. It demands an aggressive approach for it to be fully utilised.

It has average flex...which is good for returning hard smashes so that the ball doesnt fly out of the table. The weight is still pretty light with 2 inverted rubbers on it. When I used RPB with it, it was easily executed. I tried the Handshake version too....and it is equally good.

Overall... this blade is good only if your technique is solid. Recommended for Intermediate to Advanced players only. NOT for beginners.

Quite slow for new plastic ball era. And I may say lots of vibrations. You need power to use this blade. Good for looping as well as blocking. For this era better try yeo7 power

Very balanced blade, medium speed, light flexion, medium hard outer layer but not too much, wide sweet spot, handle st comfortable, great feeling, good with all types of rubbers, highly recommended for intermediate and advanced level, easy blocking, topspin, backspin , good spin, and service, one of the best 5 layers.

Super light, it takes time to get use to it if you aren't use to very light blades, amazing for loops and offensive shots

I have developed my technique with this blade. There's nothing missing on this blade. Have enough flexibility for spin. There's enough hardness for the smash. Good level of control, ball feeling is also fine. has a slight vibration. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve the game if you are mid-level. YEO deserves fame.I think, the king of five-layer blades.

YEO or YMLEO is popular 5-ply all-wood blade from Yasaka, made in Sweden. Due to a huge popularity I dare to say it is a classic. It has a little harder touch because of walnut surface layer, still providing enough feedback. Not very stiff, well balanced. Sweetspot is above average. Suitable for close and play away from the table, for both celluloid 40 and new plastic 40+ ball. Composition: walnut-spruce-ayous-spruce-walnut, 6mm thick. Very well made. My blade measures 88g. ST handle is very comfortable as well as is FL. In short: do it all blade, suitable also for beginners (if they want to stick to it). Did I mention inexpensive, too?

YEO is one of the best 5plys for a reason.
Its merits lie in its linearity and feeling provided by hard outer ply and soft core: superb short game, easy ball placement and great range of speeds. Stiffness allows for stable passive blocking. The demerits are:
-lack of catapult away from the table, as power it has plenty, but is too physically demanding for continuous attack
-hardness of outer ply forces you to be precise, else shot quality suffers/ball goes long

Overall excellent blade for developing. Too demanding for 40+, 7plys offer more catapult.

A very good blade for who wants to have great speed, excelent control and wants to loop and counterloop fast.

Personnaly, I prefer, by much, the old Gatien Extra, and the Old Gatien Extra 3D. These woods were rated ALL Around, and the seems faster to me than this blade, supposed to be offensive. We have to try to find what we lilke, and there is no match between this blade and me.

It bounces and sounds not right. the actual paddle doesn't even look exactly like the picture shown on the website. Did I get a fake one? not sure. Try to avoid it.

This blade made my game increase a lot in a short period of time. I use the CPEN version (JTTA) paired with a XIOM OMEGA V Europe 2.0 on FH and a Friendship Super Soft 2.2 on BH, I think its a good combination, maybe a little heavy. Looping is very easy with this setup and it makes a very good spin too, blocking is perfect. If you have good defensive skills but like to atack with excelent speed and spin, here is the ideal blade, it has a perfect balance betwen power and control. You can even find better blades in the market, but it will cost 2 ou 3 times the price.

Good price, good quality allwood blade. My defensive skill went up a lot! First time using YEO, I struggled a little attacking... Speed is quite slow, but that was because I did my stroke / loop wrongly... After constant learning and improvement... I really like this blade! Lightweight blade, along with H8 (FH) and Vega Pro (BH), I feel I've progressed a lot, the percentage of the ball went in increased a lot, chopping is also possible. Looping becomes easier, the feeling is good. I think this blade is one of the best 5 ply allwood blade for a long time...

If you play like Ma Lin or Xu Xin this is the blade. For all-put close-to-the-table attacker or away-from-the-table power loopers. In short, power players with extreme stroke to take full advantage.
