I agreee with Backhand - "Good technic is much better than a faster bat". I've been playing for over 30 year (including few years semi-professionally in Europe) and have seen a lot of developing players who moved early on to fast equipment and never learned to generate their own power.
For any developing (still learing or refining technique) attacking player below 2000 rating (US) I would recommend an ALL or OFF- blade with allround attacking rubbers, e.g. Sriver (L, EL, FX), Mark V, JO Waldner, etc.
Please note that these rubbers are good enough (generate enough power) for players like Boll, Korbel, Gattien, Waldner and many others.
