It's hard to strategize when somebody describes a mixed style that makes that person sound very versatile.

The only thing I noticed is that all the players games you mentioned were spin based. One player flat hit, but I think you said she set it up by pushing. I'd imagine she looks for a popup by pushing heavy then once in a while pushing flat.

So I play with a lot of spin, and what I hate most is dead balls. Have you thought about pushing very flat but making sure to keep the ball low. What makes a ball pop up a lot of the time is when you try to push spin onto a ball that is dead. If you close the blade a little and push straight with little spin (blade is close to vertical), it may screw up their openings.

Personally, I love it when someone tries to out-spin me in a pushing game.
