I need some advice. There are only four tables in our local table tennis club. Three are upstairs (good location) and one is downstairs (not so good). We meet twice every week (Tues & Thurs) from 7:45 p.m. to midnight. Everybody wants to play upstairs.

The problem is some nights we have about 20 players and have to wait almost 45 min. between matches. That is not the worst problem. The worst part is we have players range from 2300 to beginners who can hardly play.
Everybody just sign in on one list. So you may wait for a whole hour and end up playing a beginner. Some will try to avoid playing them by trying to play doubles or go downstairs.
A few of us try to suggest a better system but some refuse to try anything new.

For those of you who have a local club with limited number of tables, how do you decide who play who so that it will be fair for everybody?
