Victas VS>401
Victas VS > 401 is the inverted rubber for the aggressive chopper. A slightly sticky topsheet, combined with softer sideways aligned pips and a moderately hard sponge sheet, give VS > 401 unique characteristics that choppers will love. Spin Variation, control and balanced offence. Chop balls are firm with a low and stable arc that slide dangerously into the opponent's court with suppressed bounce.
Designed by Koji Matsushita, former world class defensive player, with help from GJ Tech - A German-Japanese Manufacturing partnership.
VS > 401 is sufficiently versatile at the time of attack. Control with catapult capabilities at the time of contact.

I am not a defender, not a chopper. I am a spin oriented power looper on FH and all round attacker on BH. I bought this rubber as my FH attacking rubber in 2.0 on FZD ALC blade. When I serve, I set up a powerful opening loop with the aim to win straight from the 3rd ball and keep attacking if any blocks come back. This rubber is perfect for this because it can give spinny, short, low backspin serves - most of the time my opponent's cannot flick them and have to push, I then can use the great grip and spin this rubber has to unleash a powerful 3rd ball loop or to flick fast and spinny if the opponent manages to push short. When I really cannot attack, this rubber can give very short low pushes so it will deny my opponent any counter attacks. On Serve receive I was able to spin and long serve with power because this rubber gives great control. It is NOT slow, it can be used by attacking players who have a powerful swing and just want something very spinny. Basically it's very similar to H3 National Blue sponge but much more forgiving, with a bit of catapult (much less than Tenergy but significantly more than H3). So if you are an H3 user and wanted to try a hybrid rubber - I think this is just great. If you're a Tenergy user and are curious to try H3 or something like that, then try this 1st. I tried this rubber because from it's reviews and description it seemed almost like the Dignics09C to me... I don't know if that's the case, but basically It is a powerful, very spinny, highly controlled rubber with moderately low catapult and good speed. It is very linear. The only down sides are that smashes go into the net and you should spin the ball to create arc. Blocks are excellent but a bit slow compared to T05 and it does react to spin, so on slow spinny loops it can block out. Away from the table you needa bit bigger movements up and forward to create the arc, it won't do it by itself. But at close to medium distance, it's a monster rubber for an attacker!

Very good rubber. But not for everyone as it has very hard sponge.
I use it on 2.0 sponge with ALL blade.
It generates great underspin. It's very good for serving, choping and smashing. It has a pretty decent control.
Not as graet for looping though. It is able to generate a fast topspin but you have to play it with a very correct technique.

VS401 black 2mm on forehand. Pros : super spinny rubber, a beast at chopping, a lot of power when needed, many gears, ultra high durability / Cons : very heavy. Probably my favorite rubber of all times (with V20 Double Extra)... VS401 fits the Matsushita Special blade like a dream. "Spin oriented high energy tension rubber for agressive chopper". Nothing to add, probably the most accurate description you can get about it...

Possibly the easiest offensive rubber to play with. It is significantly slower than other tension rubbers, but offers immense control due to being very soft and slightly tacky. Looping with this rubber tends to result in a somewhat slow yet extremely spinney ball, however smashing is very controlled and spin insensitive when speed is important. It is very easy to produce very heavy pushes and block short. From long distance this rubber isn't good for much besides chopping due to how slow it is. I would highly recommend this rubber for both defenders and close to the table attacking players.
