Reviews of Stiga Offensive Classic - Chinese Penhold (34)
If you are an experienced player with an all-round attacking style who plays close to the table, but aren't a professional, this blade is a dream come true. It would be too slow for today's pros, and the catapult effect wouldn't be enough for players who prefer mid-far distance to play, but it is absolutely fantastic for learning or improving spin-oriented shots; it is neither too light nor too heavy (my blade weighs 82.5 g), and the handle is comfortable. The feel is very natural, and the vibrations aren't as strong as some reviews suggest. Perhaps this aspect was improved in the latest version of the blade, when the outer Koto layer was replaced with Limba? I would rate it as OFF--.
Revspin ratings are a joke as usual. This blade is using wenge wood, is it still not very hard. This blade is for all around players who prefer attacking, but block when under stress. The blade is paper thin, this also makes the blade flex a lot. Most people hate this during hard attacking. I modified this blade by removing the wings of the blade, this makes this a very good def+ blade. Especially chopping is amazing, no other blade makes chopping this easy.
out of the box, woods are splintering around the edges, needs sealing because seems fragile blade. this has good vibrations
9.5/10 for OFF style. FH/BH: Tibhar Hybrid K1, 2.15mm, 52g (0.255g/cm^2), 50 degrees (ESN), 38.5 degrees (Shore A). Blade: Stiga Offensive Classic, 80g, 158mm x 151mm x 5.3mm (Width x Height x Thickness). Plies: 5 (Wood): Limba - Spruce - Ayous - Spruce - Limba.
A very good blade. Enough speed after Viscaria and much more control. It plays well with soft and medium rubbers like Donic Barracuda, Coppa X2, Acuda's. I personally have Donic Barracuda 2.0 on my FH and Donic Coppax X2 Platin Soft on my BH. And I love it.
