Donic BlueGrip J1
Donic Bluegrip J series - The success story continues
The new component in the Bluegrip J series combines the strengths of two rubber sheets. Under the direction of the new Donic partner Zhang Jike, a symbiosis of the Bluestar A and Bluegrip C series was created. The top sheet mixture of the Bluestar A provided the basis for this combination, while the sponge structure and the geometry of the top sheet pimples are identical to those of the Bluegrip C. The result is a new rubber sheet that meets the highest demands: very dynamic and extremely spin-friendly, powerful and yet with good feeling. Three versions are also available in this DONIC rubber series: Bluegrip J1 is the hardest version, J2 the medium version and J3 the softest sponge version. China's superstar Zhang Jike personally spent countless hours of testing during the development work to perfect the fine-tuning of the nuances. The result is an impressive mix of the positive characteristics of two proven rubber series, the Donic Bluegrip J. The fact that this new series with the “J” is named after him, Zhang Jike has more than deserved.

Coming from C2 and played with hurricane blue sponge before the rubber is feeling more like hurricane, needs proper technique and good legs if you want to go hard with it or the ball will go to the net. Serves are spinniers than C2 and receives are easier aswell.
The rubber is tacky at the start unlike C2 but not as much as hurricane.
When you go hard with it it is faster than C2 but if you go softly the arc is lower.
easier far away from the table because of the power it can generate.
Looping is spinnier than C2 but harder to make.
Rubber is also heavier than C2 so hit the gym if you use it on both sides of the same racket.
Overall it's the hurricane version of Donic, should be easier to use boosted, great rubber regardless
Update after 6 months (March/2026): now I'm full Donic, Andrers Lind blade ST and J1 at both sides. Full setup is 20g heavier than previous. Yinhe T11S is light but Anders's blade matches better with J1. And what a pretty combination. I'm using this blade for 1 month and the adaptation was quick. It is easy to use and it gives me confidence, which is important thanks to the good control. Training section and confidence allows me to attack 2nd and 3rd balls. The hardness 55 is my new favorite feature and I confess I was afraid of this jump. For a long time I thought density 47.5 was the highest I would try, and anything higher would drop control. However, I was wrong, density 55 sponge with this great top sheet gave me gears. I can block, and also attack with speed and spin. Before this Donic blade, I tried Andro NUZN50 at my Yinhe T11S' backhand with J1 at forehand. Andro NUZN50 is great but I regretted I didn't buy the 55. The NUZN50 lacked an extra drop of speed the J1 has. I didn't like and I realized I should have J1 at both sides. Therefore, my tip is: don't get scared with this hardness.
