Not all short pips neutralize spin, most of them don't. It depends on the width of the pips (wider pips create more spin because there is more friction with the ball) and hardness of the rubber and the thickness and softness of the sponge. And as for long pips, they don't create much of a wobble effect or provide any deception since the new rules destroyed them. |
