I've never seen someone who plays a plastic racquet and plays at a decent level. Only the recreational people play with a racquet like that.

If you are a decent player where your rating is above 1500 in USTTA, you just lost to him because you're not used to that style. It will just take a few games to beat him..... I wouldn't worry.
