I have a Newgy 2040. The robot puts a very heavy spin on the ball. A speed of 2 does not clear the net and IMO a speed of about 4 is more spin than most players up to at least intermediate level can produce. It is certainly good value and provided you are deciplined in the drills you practice, it is quite useful. However, I would caution against children learning with it. I started my 9 year old daughter on it using a speed of 3. She quickly got used to the topspin kick off the table, but her timing was totally thrown when playing against another player. She was playing her shot before the ball had arrived!
