The following message (subject: Re: Gorilla vs Grizzly) was posted by Ben, on 6/19/2008 10:42:53 AM:
Hi Fadil, When I point out that it is an inverted rubber sheet on the list I am suggesting that our good doctor has submitted it as an inverted rubber sheet in order to bypass the friction test. If he had submitted it as an anti then it would probably have undergone the friction test. I have not seen this rubber sheet, but friends tell me they have never seen anything as slick as this therefore it should say “anti” not “in” next to it on the list. This is just my speculation, but if I am right then it is just a matter of time before this is brought to the attention of the ITTF and then it will be banned because it clearly does not have the required friction level. I therefore would question whether it is worth spending the time and money on developing a style based around this equipment, we all know too well that enough time and money has already been wasted. Thanks, Ben.
