I've learned from my own experience to never afraid a faster blade/rubber precisely because they gonna be exactly what you'll need sooner than you thought. As usually the case, I was scared away from faster stuffs for years and spend a good fortune to upgrade my slower stuffs. People complain that fast blades/rubbers make their balls go off the table. Little do they know that the fast blade/rubber is not the culprit, it's the way they play with a wide open blade that makes the ball goes long. You can alway close your blade and reduce the angle of attack to compensate for your fast blades/rubbers. Stroking with a close blade is disconcerting and counter-intuitive, but you gotta learn to trust your rubber--It won't fail to grab the ball for you. |
