One of the best first blades. I bought this after 25 years' break since I wanted to start everything from the beginning. Other alternative was Nittaku Kasumi Basic which I also liked. I have since moved on but every now and then I still practice with this blade at the summer cottage against a rebound board. Works well with hard and soft rubbers. I have Nittaku Fastarc G-1 on both sides. Used to have a lot of FH problems with the throw angle. Most of the balls were off the table during the first few weeks but flexible blade and hard rubbers were for me the best combination to get some skills back.

Have bought it 3 days ago and had played with it around 30 hours.
This blade has very good control good for ALL-, ALL player but I think it still too slow for ALL+ player.
I paired it with Yasaka Mark V for my FH and Yasaka Mark V M2 for my FH.
This blade has very good consistency across the head, creates decent spin, the other pros is this blade have good way to make you "feel" the ball for every hit you make.
I think this blade would be good if paired with fast rubber have been thinking to put Rakza Z to replace my rubber sometimes in the future.

Overall this is a very good ALL blade for beginner to intermediate.

My favourite 5ply. I have the extra offensive too and i prefer this One in all aspect. If i go for a 5ply all wood Im looking for control and feel and this One Is absolutely fantastic. The extra offensive Is too stoffa with almost no vibrations.

Great Blade for amateurs

This is a very good full 5ply wood blade. Made in Sweden with excelent quality and cost only around 40. The weight is around 85-86g in standard 157x150mm size.
Many people underrate this blade.
Trully it is a control monster for all allrounder technics. Perfect for beginners and also advanced players.

But if combine with mid-hard rubbers, like the Yasaka Rakza 7 or Rakza 7 Soft, it envolves much power in spin and speed. With this combination you will reduce your unforced error to the minimum.

This blade is a beauty. The feeling is amazing and has enough power to finish the point. I use it with rakza 7 on both sides and works great. What you read on most of the reviews on this blade are true. Somebody even said that you could get addicted to play with this blade.... no kidding. Be careful ! You might fall like we all did LOL. It's just so damn fun to play with this blade. Just try it. You won't regret it.

Having played for 50 years I can say this is the perfect blade for intermediate allround offensive players. Speed depends on rubber selection and thickness. Flexible blade with medium sweet spot and great feeling for the ball. Great for looping and hitting close and mid distance. Lacks a bit of power away from table. ST. handle is fat and feels very nice in hand. Suggest sealing this blade when new as the factory sealing is very light. This outstanding value priced blade is for a wide range of players looking for a great do all blade. 5 Stars.

This is a very great blade for a cheap price. My coach got surprised of how good this is. It's perfect for a beginner with coaching that doesn't want to replace the blade any time soon. Control is great. The thing I like the most of this blade is the sound, when you hit with right energy the wood makes a nice sound. It's such an amazing feedback that helps to understand when stroke is right. Besides technique, it just feels good when the wood plays its "music". The only downside is the small sweet spot. This is particularly annoying in a match although it helps a lot during training to understand when the ball hits a little closer to the edge.

I returned back to table tennis recently and have been amazed at how much blades and rubbers have changed. I started with a butterfly hadraw blade, which really suited my style (penhold-allround). However, I lost the bat and have been searching for a suitable replacement. After purchasing 8 different blades and suitable rubbers, I have finally found my match. I can't believe this blade only costs so little. I am still trying different rubbers for that elusive combination but I must admit, the rubbers I currently use (Rakza Z FH and Rakza 7 BH) work really well. I can't recommend this bat enough for people.

It is like some1 said here: "Like a stiga classic allround but 2x better at everything." Except the ball feeling. Vibrations on Stiga are much more pronounced, but other than that this blade is better at everything. Feeling of the ball is very good, just not as in your face as it is in Stiga AC. It is stiffer, tad harder, larger sweet spot for sure, faster and more direct than Stiga AC while still having loads of control, also is more linear due to lesser flex and softness, still soft though with good dwell. My new favourite blade for sure. Handle is very comfortable(flared) it is almost the same as Stiga AC Legend Grip, but kinda better, even thought it is just a tiny bit slimer, like 1mm. It is cheaper than Stiga AC and Butterfly Grubba aswell. No brainer for me. Everyone should try this blade. To me its king of allround blades and Yasaka continues to impress me.

Great blade. Provides power when needed, but on flicks and pushes is really controlled and precise. Great way to slow down your game, make yourself more confident, and learn better technique. Price to performance ratio is awsome. The only thing that wasnt quite right is the lens, it was a bit off the center, but thats just looks.

UPDATE:
After some time, im a much better player now, and I'd like to add a bit of info here. This blade has a pretty narrow handle, so if you have medium to big sized hands, id look somwhere else. The feeling of this blade is great, although the whole composition seems to be quite hard, but relatively flexible. The only gripe I have about this is that blocking (I use friendship battle 2 commercial 45deg and rakza 7) is quite difficult to perform. The ball often flies out, but im not sure if its my lack of blocking ability, or the blade. In general, its a great example of a do-it-all begginer wood, which supports the majority of different styles, and lets you decide what you want to play. More advanced players may feel a lack of speed, however I belive that it could be compensated with good technique, or faster rubbers.

Eu jogava com uma hurricane 301, mas como queria ter mais controlo comprei esta madeira.
No me ajudou em nada, tinha mais controlo com a hurricane, vi comentrios super positivos mas deve ser a nica madeira que alguma vez tiveram...

A classic for medium speed players. It is difficult for him to maintain good control when elevating the game.

Ideal for technical base of young players or all there.

Giving up fast carbon/composite blades and returning to this blade. The ST grip is fat and very comfortable for me. Sweet spot is medium. Price is decent and won't make you look for a second job to buy it unlike some of the new super dupper blades $400 bucks and more. Table tennis a sport all about touch and consistency and this blade delivers in a big way. I have 50 years of tournament experience so I know my stuff peeps. With max MXP rubbers it is a demon for flex speed, looping and fast as hell counters with touch at the table and mid distance. Lacks a bit of killing power away from table hitting but does great for lobs and strong loop. Ok for blocking especially with hard sponge rubber. Everyone get this blade and you will become famous and your girlfriend will think you are going to the Olympics. You can donate all your super fast carbon blades to people in prison who have a table or donate them to poor kids around the world so they can sell them for food. The quintessential "Every Players" blade that a ton of players will love.

Top spins are weird. Good for short game and short pushes. Too slow for me. I really do not know why everyone here praise this blade. I think it is good only when you are developing.

NO WORDS, AMAZING UNIQUE BLADE. I have tested over 50 blades and this is definetely the most complete blade out there. A do it all. great spin, great control, great touch, feeling and the best of all, very cheap for its quality. better than pricey blades. congratulations yasaka

Excellent blade. Have been switchting to several blades the last two years, for sure this one will be the one I stick with for a long time. After a long lay off of 15 years there are so much options out there that it is confusing to figure out what fits the best to my playing style. Have tried some composite and some relatively harder all-wood 5-ply and 7-ply blades. I've played in the past with the Donic Senso JO V1 but I missed smg in the speed department. The Yasaka Sweden Extra just feels right for me, it offers so much feeling and control and also a bit of speed when I need it. I can imagine that if you are on a real intermediate up to semi-pro level this blade is to slow far away from table and longer counter top spin rallies. This blade shines really in the close to mid-close looping from the table, balls do land so much more often on the table. If you like to play with all-wood blades this one is defenitely one you should try. Top quality and top finish as well, for the price it's a bargain.

Megaspin had accidentally sent this blade to me and as I live in Azerbaijan, it would be very costly to send it back. Thanks to the managers, we agreed on discount, I ordered a new rubber for myself, and I kept the blade with me. The blade is just amazing it has a lot of control and considerable amount of speed. Very good choice for intermediate semi-offensive players like me. Strongly suggest

Very nice allround blade for beginner/ amateur player. This is my 2nd blade after Stiga Allround Classic & i love it very much. Paired with FH Rakza 7 max & BH Hurricane Neo 3 conmercial rubber (not hi end one). Plan to change BH rubber to Nittaku PK50 later. Mine 87g and suitable for allround player like me. I always beat Akmal & Hadi easily when using this blade and win everyday. Both of them feels that my blade is very dangerous now even they are using great rubber on their paddle. Recommended blade for allround player or for those who are favor with 5 ply blade.

I started playing table tennis with a gap of almost 20 years. Initially I selected Butterfly Timo Boll spirit blade but was unable to control despite tried so many combinations. A few months back I purchased Yasaka Sweden Extra blade with the intention to switch to alround blade with fast rubbers to have better control and after getting perfection will switch to fast carbon blade like Timo Boll spirit.
Yesterday, i pasted DHS Hurricane 8 for forehand and 729 Faster for backhand and i was surprised to have the best control and with almost zero errors. So I'll suggest that all beginners and intermediate players should use this for better control and improvement in the game

THE MOST INFAMOUS BLADE! UNDERRATED! Just because it is cheap and not fancy! I have changed many blades so far and few cost more than 150 euros per piece, and in the end of my journey I found this one. Pure gold for only 25 euros. Feeling is amazing with this blade, driving, looping, blocking... everything! This ain't all+ blade, at least not with T05 and DHS H3 Neo boosted. Fast combo with a lot of control. Much much faster than Primorac Japan or YEO (with Rakza 7), and little bit slower than Stinga Infinity VPS (all wood) and Zhang Jike ALC or DHS Long 5 (composite blades). Fast for short play (for playing close to the table carbon blades are much better in my opinion), but playing at mid and far distance is amazing. As I said, this one doesn't lack speed. Maybe it's slow if your stroke is weak or you using slow rubbers. All in all great blade for only 25 euros. I would recommend it to all beginners out there who want to play offensive and to intermediate players. Just pair it with T05 and this one becomes powerful weapon. If you are not a pro don't waste hundreds of euros on equipment. Just buy this one and pair it with 2 best rubbers in the world: t05 and dhs h3n and you will be more than satisfied! Speed 8/10 , control 10/10 , flex blade, nice dwell, comfortable fl handle not harsh, 10/10 for value in money!

Like a stiga classic allround but 2x better at everything.

classic AR+ blade. it really is an excellent blade for loopers. works very well with tacky chinese rubbers on FH and non tacky rubber on the BH. the fit and finish is fine, may need a bit of 'wing' sanding, but nothing major. Overall a good product.

I tried both yasaka extra and sweden extra. The central layer of extra consists of the combination of two ayous plates. and I think the anigre layer is a little thicker. but the total thickness is less. 5.6 mm thickness. it feels a little harder and more solid. the vibration is very low. The middle layer of the sweden extra is one piece ayous and 5.8 mm thick. Sweden extra is more crunchy and offers more feel. again, the vibration is similarly low. flexibility is also pretty much similar. sweden extra is less than extra, even faster. My choice is sweden, because it offers more feel and speed. and the straight handle is very comfortable.
UPDATE
I've been playing with this blade for about a year. The balance of power and feel is great. If you're an intermediate player you can do anything with this blade, block, spin and smash. I won two provincial championships in one year with this blade. I recommend it to anyone who wants to feel the ball in their palms.

I'm using this blade with Sanwei Target National on FH & Palio Ak47 blue on BH.. On forehand it was perfectly suitable. With the right technique it can afford you a powerful kill shot. On BH it lacks of power, probably due to soft rubber. I recommend this blade for beginners to develop a right technique, just give it a try...

Using this with Andro Rasanter V42 2.0mm on backhand and Andro Hexer Grip SFX 1.9mm on forehand. Great blade that works well with soft fast-ish rubbers. Comfortable, provides plenty of feel, exceptional control, consistent, fast enough to end a point. Good close to the table and also as move further away. Doesn't cost the earth. Excellent blade.

Wonderful. Good if you have speedy rubbers! Really good spin on this, and the control is world class.

I would rate this wood as off-, I used it in version 82gm st, very pretty, quite control, very good feeling, the handle is comfortable, the speed of this wood felt very close to Korbel, but less rigid with better feeling and permanence, It is a very nice wood, the loop and the service is very rotating and aggressive, with hard and fast medium angle rubbers like rakza 7, mxp, mxs, vega pro, rasanter r47, you will have a dangerous weapon.

ten years ago I started to play table tennis with a clone of YE- Yinhe W6. later I found used Yasaka Extra 3d and it was the blade that helps me a lot to develop correct technique. next I start buying faster and faster blades but none of them suits me like good old Yasaka Extra. When I saw renewed Yasaka Sweden Extra I bought it immediately and sold all the other stuff. now I love the game again

Slow compared to all my other blades, but can be compensated for by pairing it with faster rubbers. Tried both AK47 Red and DHS GoldArc 8 50 MAX on it, and the speed is still good. Feel and control is very good; I couldn't use the DHS GoldArc 8 50 MAX on my other blades, but could on this one. My CPEN weighed in 79.6 grams.

Nice blade for looping. Faster than the classic version.

Well built, good control, great dwell time, medium sweet spot, good weight (84g+-). Has enough speed, a good ALL~ALL+ blade. Comparing to the PG-7 it has more control, more dwell time, better sweet spot, about same weight. A little less speed. Its a great 5 ply blade to train your technique.

Used it with DHS GoldArc 8 47.5 MAX on FH and BH. Just amazing. Now I'm using with Andro R37 on FH and Andro R42 on BH to get better dwell time and control to train my techinque. Also amazing.

I really liked this blade, probably will keep this for a long time.

Seriously a amazing blade for the money. I've tried much more expensive blades like the Zhang Jike Super, Timo Boll and the Viscaria and various andro blades and I can say this stands among them (If looping is your style).
The is a very flexy blade with lots of feeling and some vibrations. I paired it with hurricane on the FH and MX-P on the backhand and it does well with both soft and hard rubbers. I'd recommend against this blade if you love to slap or just drive but for everyone else it's amazing. The dwell and contact you get with hard rubbers is just feels right. Highly recommend.

The description is misleading – this blade comes not sealed from the factory! Had to order lacquer separately...

Flared handle is excellent. Well balanced blade.
I paired it with Yasaka Mark V first for a few months, then with Mark V HPS.
With Mark V the short game on the board was excellent.
With Mark V HPS, there's a power and control upgrade comparatively. Plenty of gears in this combo. Looping, Counterhitting, blocking, serving are all good. Pushing and cutting take a little time, but can be done well too.
I could practice and play all kinds of shots from up to 1.5 m from the table.
This is an ideal combination for those upgrading from beginner to intermediate level of play.

** I can call this a PERFECT blade **

Review: Ok, after having tried a few rubbers and blades, while considering myself an intermediate/advanced player, I knew there was SOMETHING WRONG with all rackets I've had so far, and after researching and reading many comments, I decided to opt for this blade. Chose Yasaka Mark V Soft (2mm) for my forehand and Yasaka Rakza 7 soft (2mm) for my backhand. People, I am a VERY HAPPY camper! This blade rocks (of course with the help of rubbers), but knowing that 80% of the emphasis should be on choosing the right blade, I couldn't be happier. I am going to say something here that is going to amuse you all and make some of you laugh, but it doesn't matter, I have to say it: This racket is TEACHING me where my technique is wrong!!! It is so perfectly balanced that you can tell right from the start what you are doing wrong! Is my racket the "fastest"? No! Is it the spiniest? No, is it the most controllable racket? No, BUT, it has the whole package in it; Great spin, great control, great all-round blade and racket.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Have Played Stiga classic, hurricane Long 5, Stiga Celero Wood, and tried others, however i must say this is a great Blade. I see nothing wrong with it. Can be used for beginners and better players, just change to thicker, harder and faster rubber. Gives some feedback, flexes when looping, Good touch, still feels solid enough to block well and smash. Recommended!

This is now what I am using right now and the control for me is amazing. Using Tibhar MX-S on my FH and Tenergy 64FX on my BH. 83g is my blade weight. This is a very good all around blade when developing your stroke.

After coming back from 15-year TT hiatus I started with my old Butterfly Primorac OFF- with Rozena and DHS H3Neo both in max but I was feeling it's not the best control to speed ratio for me and I want to try something new for poly ball and different game after all these years. Like coming back to basics, work on technique, footwork for every stroke and have just maximal feel and control in the blade. After thinking about Stiga's Allround Classic and similar pieces I got great deal (30% off) on this Yasaka and boy I don't regret a second! Knowing how well it feels in short game, on serve and looping from short/mid distance I would even pay twice the list price. The match with Yasaka Rising Dragon on FH (2.0mm sponge) and Yasaka Rakza 7 soft on BH (2.0mm sponge) is almost perfect for me and the only weaker point I found so far is lack of power from very long distance. Skylobs are pretty accurate but if I want to counterattack or I'm too afraid to play it won't kick the ball all the way on the other side. But I'm fine with it for now, blade allows me to put all the power to finishing shots in proper distance and I would say it's even good learning tool for beginners. When I get my Bfly Primo OFF- back in hand it feels kind of dead in short game and I stay with YSE (sure, it can be only bad rubber combination, but I don't have time and money to test twenty set-ups). The only reason why I will probably change again one day is the speed. Last word about another difference I noticed when comparing to several Butterfly/Stiga/Donic blades I've seen: this Yasaka has extremely well sealed finish and overall craftsmanship is excellent. Big surprise for me and I will definitely try another Yasaka blade in the future.

Update for number-lovers:
- Head is h/w 155mm x 150mm
- Weight is 84g (FL handle version)
- Thickness seems to be 5.6mm (but I don't have sub-mm meter so take it with margin)

The Yasaka Sweden Extra is a terrific All+ 5 Ply wood blade with great feel and control. Close to the table play is terrific and with the right rubbers and generating your own power mid distance play is good too. If you are a new or developing player on a budget I highly recommend this blade. It's my favorite all wood blade is this speed category along with the Nittaku Violin for a fraction of its price. Great blade, great value.

Is the best blade considering the quality/price you get (amazing control/spin/felling but not enough power and medium sweet spot which cause some times a little bit of vibrations. The blade is perfect for close to the table game and not far or mid-distance from the table b/c the lack of power oblige you to hit very hard and loosing control/feeling.

Excellent racket, im using yinhe pluto pips out rubber. and yasaka mark V. I think its a great combo for all around. I lacks ball feeling alittle bit. The handle is very comfortable.

I'm an average player and I paired this blade (straight handle) with Rakza 7, 2.0, on both sides. Its a great combination and I'm a little mad at myself that I didn't buy this paddle sooner. Its very versatile and my favorite part is its ability to loop with massive spin.

Very reliable and friendly blade. Superb wood quality. Great control, enough power and great feel at great price. Allround to allround offensive players looking for a high quality blade that does everything right at a low price will be totally satisfied. The thing about Yasaka Extra blades is they can really deliver A LOT of power using the right strokes while staying light and versatile for a very controlled close to mid distance game with surprisingly quick pase changes and power shots that result tricky to the oponents (Ma Lin Extra Off is still a 5 ply all wood blade like this one). You know what kind of Allround, pase-changing, middle distance strategy I talk about If you have watched and payed attention to Ma Lins playing style. He used to pair his Penhold Ma Lin Extra Off with DHS Skyline TG3 on FH (most likely boosted) and for some time he used some Mark V rubber for BH. Both of these rubbers are among the not so fast type and yet using his long penhold strokes he could outspeed Europeans using carbon blades and Tenergies.
This tells you enough about how much you can squeeze out of any blade in the Yasaka EXTRA series, developed alongside the Mark V rubber series, and of course Ma Lins carreer...

Great balance. Remarkable ball feeling. After 12 years as a "basement bomber", I found a club in my area and bought way too much racket as my first custom (Joola K6 with Rhyzm 425 on fh and Rhyzm Park on bh)...it was a learning experience. I quickly learned that 12 years developing poor technique and dominating my neighbors did not equate to my being ready to jump onto the club scene with an intermediate/advanced setup. After a few sessions at the club and a little work with a coach, I decided to slow down my setup. I outfitted the Yasaka Sweden Extra with Mark V M2 max on fh and Mark V 1.8 on bh...I noticed an immediate improvement in my ability to keep the ball on the table, and I feel a much more solid progression in my development of proper technique.

I am an avid recreational player who also regularly compete in local tournaments. I played with this blade for 3-4 months. In my opinion this is and excellent all around choice of blade. The control rocks. The power is OK, though not high. If you play at somewhere around my level, it does not disappoint.
I just ordered my second.

Postives: Great feeling. Ball goes where you want it to go. I come back to this blade when I need to work on my technique.

Negatives: Compared to the Yakasa Gatien Extra 3D and Ma Lin Extra Offensive, this blade has a shorter head and handle. When using the heavier Tibhar Evolution rubbers on this blade (Flared version), it is head heavy and not as balanced as the Extra 3D or Ma Lin Extra Offensive. Handle is also a little smaller due to thinner plys. The b lade balances well with Yakasa Mark V M2 rubbers.

This is one blade that i'll keep in my bag.

Found this blade by accident when I was looking for an all round Stiga classic blade. The Yasaka Extra Sweden is made in Sweden's famous woodhouse in Taranas. I paired this with 2.0 mm Yasaka Mark V's on both sides, and it is the most enjoyable combination improve your strokes and master your techniques. Compared to a Donic Waldner Carbon Senso with same rubbers, it has ever so slightly better control & softer touch due to it being a notch slower (which is great because the Waldner Carbon Senso is one of the best balanced control blades out there) . If the Waldner Carbon Senso is rated at OFF-, the YSE is definitely and ALL+. With the classic Mark V rubbers, unless you are a beginner/intermediate you don't want to get anything slower than this.

After a 10+ year hiatus, I have been using recreational bats. Shortly after I started using DHS and Butterfly premade bats. They were good but something seemed to be lacking. I went to custom bats with all these new custom blades and rubbers of all sorts from XiEnTing, Stiga, DHS, Yasaka, Butterfly, Donic, Xiom, trying everything I had access too to compare which is the right one for me. Reviews on here and tabletennisdb help alot and give you a sense of direction, but you don't really know for certain unless you try it for yourself. I found this YSE by accident when i was looking for a much slower blade than my Viscaria. The shop owner was so passionate when speaking about this particular blade (built in the famous Swedish wood house in Taranas) that I had to take notice and buy it. Best move I ever made, put 2 yasaka mark v's 2 mm on each side and couldn't be happier. I able to fine tune and calibrate with swinging shots (with Off blade or faster with faster rubbers all you need to do is block or give it a light tap and it will fly, and if you don't get it right it will go into the net or out on the full). That is why this setup is so valuable for me right now in developing proper power/strokes and consistency. It is a slow setup but the fact that you can precisely work on your technique and get better with all variety of loop spins/shots etc., I dare not try anything faster until i have mastered all my shots with this setup. This setup makes it a lot easier for me to brush and do proper top spins with proper technique, than an Off/+ blade with fast rubbers, as it gives such consistent/linear feedback that you know exactly what you did wrong so you can correct it.

Really love this blade. It plays like a $200 BTY blade. Looping is like a dream. Control on the table is so easy. The finish of the blade is also very fine. This blade is not very fast, but fast enough to finish a point. Excellent blade.
