Yasaka Mark V HPS is a very tacky, hard Rubber best suited for a variable offensive playing style.
It allows you many different strokes, it has many gears, and has a slight (!) catapult effect. The catapult effect is not very noticeable, but still there.
If you want to work on your technique this rubber is worth it.
It lasts a very long time! It stays tacky still after one year (and even longer) if you put on a protective screen.
It is a rubber definitely worth buying!

Mark v hps has good spin , speed and control.
Good with T-11+ or TB allc.
Helps in rallying. The rubbers topspin can be blocked easily by other rubbers.
Rubber for people who llike to keep ball in play.

Not the biggest fan to be honest. Reading all the hype and then testing it out struck me. Used this on backhand. Best features of this rubber is light weight, blocking, control. Speed is not there and grip for spin not there. Could just be my technique also as Im comparing to DHS rubbers such as H3,Tin Arc3. Goldarc8. Even razka 7 soft. Yasaka rubbers do a great job of block and control. But when it comes to Rpb looping/driving.. doesnt shine. Or maybe I tried using the wrong yasaka rubber for my style of play. If youve started on DHS rubbers as a Penholder.. best to stay there IMO. Yasaka hits different. Still a quality rubber. I used it on YEO for BH. I just struggled to use it to lift under spin and execute Rpb smashes. No hate..

The best rubber ever produced.
Top spin machine. Awsome spin and enormous control. Very light weight. Excellent in all aspects except durability which is a little bit less than average.
So easy to use from beginners to advanced users. Highly recommended to any offensive or allround players.

Offensive rubber with excellent spin and control. Very good grip if you brush the ball adequately. Medium throw angle, less than all Rakza serie rubbers. Excellent in powerfull top spin with a low angle rasing the net. Very good also in the short game, plenty of control. Easy spinny serves. And more, it has a very light weight, lightens significantly the total weight of your paddle if you use it on both sides FH & BH, allowing you to pair them with an heavier blade.
The only weakness I see is the durability of the top sheet which quickly wears out under heavy top spins.
Without any doubt quicker and a lot spinnier than the original Mark V without loosing any control.

It works well on sanwei cc and donic black devil, good control and medium spin. easy to make a flat hit and loop in mid range.

A good rubber for a beginner. Bought a pair of these for my kid. It will deliver what you expect. No WOWs, but also no mistakes. Very reliable rubber.

I recently tried this rubber on a OFF- blade; Limba-Ayous, with the plastic ball and it was disappointing. The rubber is well made but seems to lack grip with the plastic ball but it may be that my blade being soft impacts its performance with the plastic ball so I am going to keep the rubber around and try it later on a harder stiffer blade to see if its performance improves. The other issue is playing style as it may work better with flat hitting, smashing etc.

This is an ideal step-up from beginner level all-round rubbers like Mark V, in my opinion.
It's awesome when paired up in 2.0 mm thickness with Off- blade like Yasaka Sweden Extra. The weight of the racket is balanced, the power/spin ratio is also balanced.
Looping, top-spin, counter-hit, block, cut, push, opening under-spin can all be done effectively, if you are practising regularly.
Chopping is the only difficult thing to do, maybe with a defensive blade, it could be turn out to be easy, I don't know.
Then, I have paired it with Yasaka Goiabao 5 blade. It is an ideal mix of looping and hitting style, as the blade's hard outer layer and inner medium density core and slight flex all perfectly complement each other in the short game as well as long. It's a joy to hold and play.
Club/amateur/intermediate players could benefit immensely with this rubber paired with an Off-/All+ blade.

The HPS version of Mark V is Awesome! Topsheet has more grip compared to regular Mark V, and sponge is more dynamic, without any bouncy feeling though. I am not sure about that but this is a non-tensor rubber. Hardness is medium-hard for sponge but the topsheet is highly elastic and provides a softer global feeling.
A very well balanced rubber : pretty good speed, excellent spin, tremendous feeling and control. Defensive strokes (chops) are very efficient and pleasant to do. Even in 2018, even with the plastic ball, Mark V HPS can fit most of the players in search of controlled but powerfull playstyle.

A very good rubber with good control and rotation I recommend it for intermediate players

Very good rubber, nice spin and speed, also provides a good control. Works very well in FH, but I think it is perfect for BH. Paired with a Xiom Extreme S blade and a Xiom Omega Europe in FH, nothing to complain. The HPS version is better than the other versions, worths the price.

I am a Short and Mid ranged OFF+ player, and I play in spin rather than flat shots.... And This Rubber is the Best for me so far for my FH...
Before this, I was using Donic Coppa Gold. But Mark V HPS has more spin and control. And if you have blade like Donic Senso carbon, which is enough fast, you can also generate lots of speed in your topspin.
My services are having mroe spin now. And I can put my topspins anywhere I want....
Mark V HPS is a Must Try Rubber for players with style like me........

Bought a sheet of 2.0mm red. So far this is my favorite rubber. It's fast with very good control and is very forgiving, great feel, medium soft suitable for any blade. You can use either for forehand or backhand. Currently I use it on BH and use Nitakku Fastarc S1 for FH.

My review: Very light, cut weight=42g; Speed=9.2; spin=9; control=9.5 forgiving, grip=9; throw=med; hardness=4; feel=excellent, overall=9.5

As a big fan of Yasaka I want to try a faster rubber combined with a faster blade YASAKA GOIBAIO 5. I have this racket with rakza 9 on forehand and mark v hps on the backhand and I am very satisfied. I have this racket for the last 10 days and even is very early to tell yet this is some observations. Racket was a lot faster than my previous and the first 2-3 days I was struggling not to keep the ball as I was able to do it but I wasn't able to hold the blade as this time from straight I went to anatomic bell type. After the 4-5 day I was able to get used to hold it but also to play better. It would take me a few days or weeks to get used to it but I believe with this blade and with this rubbers I ll be able also to move forward faster. As for the rubbers very fast and very strong hit and for the spin you ll have to be a little technical if you want to succeed with a lot of speed.

Very good balanced rubber. Great speed, explosive, with good spin and great control, also blocking very well. You can do everything with it. Works better with medium/hard blades.

This rubber is very sensitive to dust since dust causes it to loose it's spin rapidly. If you wash the rubber with soap and water ( remember to wash out all the soap) the grip will return. I need to wash the rubber after every 2 sets. When the rubber is clean you can do everything with it, providing you have the skill. The rubber feels light.

Just rec'v it and it play good, was able to hit BH pretty solid. I think I like my Yasaka X better because it is more spinning and control, also I able to smash in with FH 70%-80% at a time. Do recommend it, everyone I show to said this is good rubber.

perfectly balanced rubber between speed, spin and control.
when you want speedy smashes or drives this rubber will provide you that,
if you want spinny loops, short pushes, serves this rubber will provide you that,
if you want to control over opponents shots you can do it. if you want controlled faster blocks you can have them.
if you want a lighter racket, put this rubber on.
perfectly balanced rubber.

A good rubber. Faster and spinnier than the regular Mark V, but the regular has more control. Not as good as calibra, tenergy etc. But a very good rubber for all intermediate players.

excelente goma, gran durabilidad, buena para topspin, con gran control y rapidez considerable. Para jugadores intermedios una pieza clave para mejorar la t©cnica y subir al sgte nivel.

This is the rubber most non pros should be using. It is a faster and a bit spinnier version of regular Mark V. Great for close/mid table play with very good control. Much easier handling than some of the top end Tensors. This rubber has all the gears to play a powerful allround looping/hitting game. Why spend big bucks for Tensors that require steady training and practice when you can play with this at 92% performance of those high dollar rubbers. A wonderful version of Mark V. Great for FH and BH. The ultimate go to rubber for non pros.

I played with this rubber on a yasaka 3d blade and compared to my yinhe 7 ply blade and mars 2 combo rubbers...worlds apart. I sorted my technique with the mars 2 rubbers and with the mark v hps rubbers, i was killing my friends on the tt board. Serving was a breeze as i did it with more pace and spin. Returns with me chopping it back to them was fast and lots more spin and they even said my chopping is way faster. I had more control with the looping and smashing and it required less effort. Well done yasaka, i'll be getting me some of these definitely.

I played with this rubber on bh for 6 months, it is a nice rubber but far from the good tensors out there. It is decent in looping spin, blocks, decent in control and with a comfortable medium throw. But it doesn't shine in none of them not compared with the other tensors : acuda S2, xiom sigma europe etc. It's just a rubber for transitioning to the real tensors out there. The big minus is the serving and pushing area. Spin is terrible on serves and pushes tend to pop-up both because the top-sheet is thin and the firmer sponge kicks in even on brush shots. All in all a training rubber not a serious competition rubber.

Nice package with hard cardboard and top protector sheet.Initial Impression. small pores evident a bit shiny top sheet. The color of its sponge is milky white. Once apply by water base glue it immediately absorb by its sponge.
Playing Characteristics: Great rubber for its high control spin and decent speed , since the top sheet rubber was still Marv V the playability and character is just the same only its faster. Perfect for Off + blade.
My set up; blade Photino. Forehand rubber is Mark V HPS back hand Sapphira. Great quality rubber. Mine is 4 months old and still okay. Just bought another one for reserve. a Must try Japanese rubber.

Very good rubbers, its has everything I want to play...with the nice relative medium price i think..but the equal quality with the expensive rubbers such xiom sigma euro.

Good in serve, loop, block, push, drive and surely smash also topspin. Chop and short game must be with good control and soft touch.

Nice for FH or BH, for all attack use it in Maximum sponge, for better offensive control use in 2.0mm. Every shoot easy with it, pretty speed and spin!

This is the replacement rubbers for my classic mark V. With Water glued based, i feel the same with play with mark V with speed glue. Fantastic! Even its better. Thanx Yasaka!

Fabulous! I feel like playing with powered speed glued rubber...very strong and spinny, not the fastest but its have everything balance! very lovely!

Feels like Im playing with mark V with the speed glue! Im use with haifu waterglue. Its very nice!
Review helpful?    Yes | No

It is very universal rubber, low throw, which suits my backhand very much. Compared to tensor rubbers, it is very linear regarding speed and power used.

This actually plays something like lighltly glued Mark V, which is pretty good. It isn't as fast as Tenergy or a few others, but is fast. It isn't sa spinny as some either, but has plenty, and a nice balance of spin and speed. Very versatile. While it won't make you a hero on its own, it will allow you to do anything you are capable of...
