Good for beginners, but it might be better to get a better all wood blade, and then glueing the mark V rubbers. Otherwise great for the beginner to intermediate level.

bought this at a bargain. But it was very good, just found out here that this is pretty decent.

Great bat. Probably the best premade best you can buy. Incredible spin.

Got this as my first competitive racket. Great spin and power, helps me develop my competitive game. Would recommend for anyone looking to take their game to the next level!

I have used this during my childhood under professional coaching and used again couple of years ago. This is one of the best ping pong rackets. Large sweet spot, all rounder offensive and what a great control! I'd certainly recommend this racket.

Very good paddle for beginner to intermediate level. Have been using it for one year and still the rubber is in decent condition.

Excellent racket for a intermediate to advanced player. I always wished I had this racket when few better players used this while I was growing up. This is a classic and still performs well. Only reason I can't give more than 7* is the rubber gets marks from spinning/smashes because of the impact. AFAIK, this price has been pretty much constant around 80-100$ for past few YEARS. :-). I hope it goes down.

Great racket, just bought a 2nd one as a backup even though my first one is still with very good performance from the rubber. I'm not sure this rubber actually wears out (I also use PP rubber cleaner on it before every match or before every club day to give it the extra clean edge).

I played 3-4x a year starting in college, but just started playing more seriously every week for the last 4 months and this paddle has helped me develop from a good push/block rec player to a decent tournament player with a developing controlled offensive game and loop. Am now rated mid 1700s hopefully on my way up. I have recently tried about 20 different setups of custom paddles including butterfly blades with tenergy, donic blades, other yasaka setups, etc, and this paddle is still so much more effective at keeping the ball low and on the table without giving up much in the way of spin that I easily beat players with this paddle that I will have difficulty beating or even lose to with the more controlled versions of custom setups.

Anyone recreational to rating 2000 should look at this racket as a serious alternative to a custom paddle.

Had this racket for about 3 yrs, no special treatment, no carrying case...it still performs like a champ! I love the way it can float a ball just over the net with a deceptive amount of reverse spin, with a light chop - almost impossible to read. Truly a top quality racket - I have been looking for something as good or better to replace it but nothing yet. Rubber is a bit fragile, and the spin/lack of control makes it definitely not for beginners.

Back in 1975 my parents bought me a Yasaka Mark V when I was in high school, and I **loved** that racket. The high speed, the very strong spin and distinct lack of control endeared this paddle to me even then.

I played with it for YEARS... I mean to the point that the rubber hardened and cracked... the area where the forefinger was placed on the red side blackened from the acid in the skin.

I eventually retired my Mark V and the sport from my life for many decades. Recently, I decided to get back into the sport, and of course, I wanted a Mark V... and so I found and ordered one right from this very website!

I am VERY eager to bring an old friend back to my table and of course I will add more to this review a while after I play with the paddle in the near future (if I can add to this review later).

Welcome home to an old friend, welcome home to my Mark V !! :-)
