The Nittaku Hina Hayata H2 is an excellent looping blade. I play with Victas V22 Double Extra on the backhand and Stiga Mantra Pro XH on forehand. As with all Nittaku blades, you can expect quality craftsmanship. You'll get a chuckle out of the caption on the blade: "Flexibility and Strength create Hina Voltage". Because who doesn't want to have Hina's high energy play, right? I am coming from a Nittaku Acoustic Carbon (outer) and though I enjoyed the speed, sometimes the speed was too much. My thinking at the time was that I'm not getting any younger and could use a blade that does more of the work for me. But now, I feel I want a bit more in the control department this time. The H2 is a much better controlled looping blade. It's an OFF- blade so not the fastest blade, but as long as you're willing to supply the power, the linear performance provides a comfortable feel for looping at any speed. I play mostly near the table and don't venture beyond mid range. And this is where the Hayata H2 blade shines. You can easily and confidently loop over the table, just off the table, or mid distance. The main difference vs. Acoustic Carbon aside from the speed is that even if you misjudge the amount of incoming topspin, the H2 blade provides a safer, more stable loop thus a greater chance of balls landing. Both light and heavy pushes are easy as one would expect of an inner carbon blade. Blocking is easy as well with solid feedback that ranges from medium to hard depending on your grip pressure. In fact I was pleasantly surprised when my opponent heavy looped down the parallel line, and I was able to block to the opposite corner for a win with a slightly closed angle. With my previous Nittaku Acoustic Carbon, that would have gone off the table. The stability at all speeds really is the best feature of the blade. Because of the incredibly good dollar/yen exchange rate, I bought it as well as my rubbers at tt-japan.net for a really good price.
