This rubber is good at the begining but it is litteraly a catapult I kinda like it on my FH but hate it on my BH it just rockets away. It is also very sensitive and not really durable i recommend Dignics 05 it is expensive but trust me it will last longer and you have more control
This rubber needs no introduction. I would just put pros and cons which I could understand while playing with this rubber on my FH. Pros - Good speed, very good for looping from mid distance, rubber characteristics holds well for moderate play over long period, spin is good if you know how to engage the sponge as ball deeps and sprung immediately because of tension. Cons - Bounciness causes difficulty in handling short balls, durability issues, blocking is good only if you are able to adjust angle particularly spiny loops.
Its very good rubber, if you are able to use it wisely and also need lot of practice to use its full potential

It is a very special rubber, but you need to be precise with it at all times. Very good for Backhand. It behaves really well on stiffer blades with harder outer ply, both BH and FH side. This rubber will always reward you for your brushing motion with good spin. Its not the best for flat hits, smashes, but it is very decent. You need to be quick and precise with your banana flicks only then they are of a good quality. Hard for me to find flaws with this rubber. It can get hard to control on very fast outer carbon blades due to bounce. If you are super hard smasher I think you would be better of with Tenergy 05 Hard, which also gives better control in a short game than regular 05 and FX. The topsheet of Ten05 has tightly organized pimples so it is harder to penetrate than others, but thanks to that it is more direct. Fast brushing movement is what you need to get most out of this rubber. I find it hard to bottom out on BH, you really need to put a lot of power to feel you've reached the wood. It is really stable to me on BH counter topspin. You can use it on FH aswell, but it can be 2 soft if you wanna hit hard. To me Ten05 pairs really well with Chinese rubbers that are 2/3 degrees harder on ESN scale than Ten05. Good rubber.
Second best imo backhand rubber. Better for topspin shots than backspin. Great power however in my case a dull sound.
Love it. But it show signs of wear in 2 months in the place where I hit the ball. It will be great if durability can be improved.
Amultart + T05 2.1 black. I use it in FH. Very fast, spinny with a "kik" sound, blocks are OK, counters are a bit tricky. A wonderful soft feeling due to Hinoki layer, it is really a very nice feeling coming from this combinaison, like slippers ! It works also as BH but needs to be always in front of the ball ... otherwise the ball is crossing the wall ! I use V22 double, as it has more gears than T05.
T05 is 60 a sheet, Very good in open play with any type of blade. High arc, bouncy and it is quite nice. Struggles in short game compared to chinese style rubbers. Hammond z2 is in my opinion a equal for 40 a sheet
way back 2018 I'd tried this rubber on Stiga clipper All wood FH (my first blade) beginner that time.. Then next was on timo boll alc as forehand rubber then got Derma Wizard forehand again and then on petr korbel..
On stiga clipper I found it controlled over not being tamed.. On timo boll alc no control at all .. On wizard ..controled also and on petr korbel..
As far as I remembered those were my worst table tennis equipment journey.. I had the money and the resources but not the skill... So TENERGY 05 is not for me.. Cant read spin at all.. Cant done right strokes ... T05 was a mess
Now 2023 Im using viscaria ALC my fh rubber is 729 PROV BATTLE 2 39 degrees.. My forehand is way way way better than before (2018).. Now Im an intermediate level player... My forehand is really to TACKY HARD RUBBER.. I already tried different tensor rubber but it was not for me.. Only chinese rubber on forehand satisfied me .. And my eagerness to do consistent strokes was because of chinese rubber.. Before dhs neo 3 commercial then prov and now battle prov... Now on backhand Im usi tornado v5 very cheap rubber.. And planning to go back to t05 but now i will put it on Backhand side.. Then try it on forehand .. I will assess my self how far I become.. And ost of my club mates.. Suggest t05 for consistent backhand play.. But reactor is fine with me.. Very controlled and even chiquita was easy to execute.. Ill update this review after I got my t05 and played for a while

Played this rubber for almost 2 years on my FH. I cant add much then already written in the many reviews here. Other then my own experience. I see my self as low end advanced player and have a lot of power in FH strokes the further I get away from the table. At the table and midrange I could control this rubber but at third line i sometimes lost control. This has nothing to do with the rubber but with my own skill. The power of my strokes and the power of the rubber combined was something else to handle.
For the rest this rubber excels at everything and I can see why this is popular by many players. I read that tenergy 05 hard was better suited for my playstyle so i switched to that.
On topic though the tenergy 05 has a real catapult springy effect as described which give a higher throw angle. Be ready to close your blade a bit more while blocking and chopping dead balls/floaters requires a lil adjustment or else they will fly to high. Topspins are real fun and the speed they get surprises opponents. Lifting heavy backspins was also easy. Serving and receiving is ok. Price is to high like almost all butterfly rubbers but Im the quality is definitely there. Intermediate and beginners stay away from this one, get used to other fast rubbers first

It is an easy to play with rubber. It has a high throw angle, is quite precisely, good speed and spin and not too hard. For me it felt quite similar to bluefire M1. Unfortunately, I felt like it does not excel at anything, but is more like an allrounder.
Perfect. I am Top 1 in my Country and I play it. Not for beginners because they are too bad to use such an expensive rubber. For Beginers, I would say to use a Butterfly Sriver and for medium players a bluefire m3 or m2
Tested black 2.1 mm on Viscaria blade (2022) on the backhand. T05 is great it has speed, spin, and decent control for the backhand. You must have a very good technique to use it properly, it is not very forgiving Rozena but it's more rewarding when you can handle it. I've tried a lot of rubbers similar to T05 and Gewo Nexxus EL PRO 50 seems to be closest to it but no other rubber has that feeling of catapult like T05, not even Gewo. It's too soft for a modern forehand. Still very good but there are rubbers very similar and better like Gewo Nexxus 53/50 for half the price...
Perhaps excellent rubber for pros, but definitely not for beginners or amateur players. T05 requires advanced skills and doesn't forgive any mistakes. Complicated for control and studying basic tt technique
Totally a rocket. Incredible spin and speed. It's tricky to get used to the rubber's characteristics but when you do, you can attack every ball you can imagine. I found this rubber pretty easy to control and loop-counterloop balls from when you are medium-far away the table. Mid distance killer alright! Not very suitable for flat hits but you can manage. I recommend this rubber for topspin loopers who likes to move a bit further from the table. Rubber needs proper technique and some experience.
A classic rubber of the New Era. Very good spin and speed, that's why people choose this even without looking at the price. For me it is soft and too high Arc. It requires a different from the Chinese rubbers technique. And the price is very high. Recommend only if you are rich and really like high throw angle rubbers. And T05 is low durability.
This is an excellent rubber from Butterfly. It has a great speed and spin with an acceptable amount of control. It really has that trajectory effect in it, blocking is exceptional if hit right. It is also suitable for loops, drives, counterattacks, smashes, pushes, blocks, chops and much more. It is a diverse rubber that suits the OFF+ type of style.
On the other hand, you really have to hit the ball with the right angle, as it has less margin for error, it is not really forgiving. Sometimes it behaves unpredictably, as the ball sometimes dwells in, sometimes shoots out quickly like trampouline. It also very spin-sensitive, you have to push up the ball very gently and in the right angle again to receive a rather spinny serve. It's durability is not the best as after 1,5 months of use it started losing grip and traction, while it wasn't cleaned with anything but tap water and sponge.

I have found that 1.7mm works very well on the backhand of an all around plus or offensive minus all wood blade, for those who place close to the table. It has just the right amount of control, spin and speed.
So, I have been playing this game for about 6 years now, and I didnt tired too many rubbers, but out of all I have tried, this one seems to fit my style the best. It has the speed when I need to finish the point, but it isnt crazy fast on my blade (its an all+ gewo power all round blade, quite stiff and hard for an all+). As a looper, and a person that is very sensitive to every change in everything, I can say that the spin and the dwell time on this setup are just right, when using the right technique. You can brush, you can hit. You are in control, but if you brush too thin, the ball isnt gonna grip, since the sponge is a little bit too hard for that thin of a brush. The throw angle is high for sure. If you dont know what you are doing, especially on the backhand, the balls will fly out of the table one by one. The short game is a little difficult, since the catapult effect can engage when not expected, but its not impossible to master the serve and recive game. Blocks are quite difficult, especially if you are dealing with spinny topspins, since the rubber is quite spin sensitive, and the high throw angle isnt helping either, but again, its not impossible to do, just a little bit harder because of the speed that the rubber provides, and the explosive effect of the ball. When serving, the rubber can produce variety of gears, so its another added bonus. Basically, the only downsides to this rubber are its price, and sometimes the lack of control. So, if you are a looper, and have some spare money, or good source for used rubbers in good shape, I strongly recommend. If not, there are plenty of other, good rubbers for looping for half the price.
Typical tensor rubber, good for bh play. Sponge is medium hard for me, so definatelly softer allblades for attack are not welcomed. Type off in speed, high rotation but a bit lower than in 729 Bloom Power. Control lower at all blades, higher at off blades. Sensitive to incoming spin. Only for people who have learned strokes propertly. Very expencive, Overall for example, Xiom is cheaper with same quality.
Tenergy 05 is a standard in tensor rubbers. It is very fast and catapults like a rocket. It has really high spin and can put a lot of pace on the ball. The arc is pretty high and you have to pay attention to your technique because the ball can easily fly off the table. Overall, this rubber is high quality and not necessarily worth the price but if you do buy it you won't be dissapointed.
Bought this rubber out of curiosity due to the hype around it, and I tell you the hype is there for a reason. Currently using it on my Stiga Infinity VPS V for backhand - better for me since I prefer using harder, and tackier chinese-style rubbers on forehand.
Excellent for backhand topspins, and counters. Admittedly, it did take me a little while to adjust my stroke and timing since it does bounce off faster than what I’m used to with slower and linear rubbers (such as Fastarc G-1), but once I got the timing down this rubber really brought the edge with its speed and spin; the ball really kicks off towards the opponent once it hits the table.
Take extra care of it once you’ve invested in it. The top sheet can chip away at the edges easily if not maintained properly.

Tenergy 05 is long lasting tensor, better than Donic , Tibhar rubbers .
Spin is excellent. LLooping paradise.
Blllocking and smashing very difficult.

Fast and spinny. Easy to activate huge spins. Good for looping, flicking, pushing with heavy underspin. Needs to be careful in blocking and hitting since it is reactive. Overall it maintains its properties for a long time even though it is expensive.
It's a true beast. But once you tame it its one of the best rubbers ever made. Suits pretty much every blade. Blocking is automatic, drive is a dream and looping is orgasmic.
Despite the hype about this rubber, I would not recommend it for developing players. It does not teach you, does not improve your preformance. It's really alazing for advanced players but at lower skill levels you might have problems with control and short strokes. Besides, it's considerably overpriced. Xiom Vega Pro, Yasaka Rakza X, and other ESN tensors will be a very good replacement for Tenergy series.
If you're a developing player, go with a "hybrid" rubber for your forehand (tacky with a slight catapult effect like Tibhar Hybrid K1, Yinhe (Galaxy) Big Dipper, Moon Pro, Jupiter or simiar. They "teach" you the right technique. They cost nothing but your progress with topspins will skyrocket.

I have never played with Tenergy05 before and I have to tell you its an amazing experience. Tenergy05 came in as a combo with Primrac paddle, its fast, tacky, good loops(FH topspin), and lastly very powerful shots. I love everything about the rubber but there is a big problem, the edges of the rubber started to peel just in 2 weeks. The rubber keeps peeling more and more everytime I play. My question to Butterfly is, how can you manufacture a great rubber with poor durability that is highly priced?????? Everytime I look at the rubber while playing, I shake my head and say what a lousy job Butterfly did in quality control. I am not surprised to see more comments on similar issues with this particular rubber. Megaspin.net must address this issue and not allow poor quality products.
Comparison with Stiga DNA Pro Medium. Tenergy is fast, faster than Stiga DNA Pro Medium, more tacky than DNA Pro M, Tenergy grips the ball more and provides good feedback, Control of both is equal, Weight of tenergy is more, Throwangle is higher than DNA pro M, Consistency wise I feel my fellow players' tenergy have different feeling, durability of tenergy is very poor my tenergy's top sheet ripped/cracked after 3 months, I was doing multiball 2-3 days a week. DNA pro M has very good durability.
Speed is there, control is good (it can be quite unforgiving with lack of technique), spin is definitely above average, ball trajectory is unmatched. One might say this is the most difficult rubber to play against. Downside might be the chipping on the sides and mine got ripped on the middle when barely hitting a court divider. Dignics series have better control and are more durable if u dont mind the price.
This rubber suits well for blocking and driving and looping against backspin near the table, this rubber can creat easily tons of spin with the correct technique and also very powerful strokes, I think is more likely to be a rubber for backhand that in my case I lack of power on backhand and I need this extra power from the rubber on short mechanisms and near the table but one extra characteristic is that if you feel comfortable to make a strong shot far from the table occasionally itll surprise you! Very hood rubber for backhand.
9.4/10 for OFF style. FH: Donic Bluefire M1 Turbo, 2.2mm, 52g (0.256g/cm^2), 50 degrees (ESN), 38.5 degrees (Shore A). BH: Butterfly Tenergy 05, 2.1mm, 49g (0.239g/cm^2), 36 degrees (Shore A). Blade: TSP Balsa 8.5, 80g, 157mm x 150mm x 10.5mm (Width x Height x Thickness). Plies: 5 (3 Wood + 2 Composite): Ayous - GlassFibre - Balsa - GlassFibre - Ayous.
Great rubber that provides everything needed to win at this game. Looping, pushing, smashing, speed acceleration, blocking, ball placement, counter attacking, hitting from near or far, you name it....it can do it. Great combination on my Donic Waldner World Champion '89 OFF inner fiber blade (SZLC). Using the 2.1 (max) on both sides of the blade and the touch and feel is very nice and the sound is tremendous. What makes this combination work is the blade has a stiff soft-like feel (spruce, sruce, carbonfleece zylon, kiri) while the rubber has IT'S OWN medium to medium hard feel. When looping, the rubber grabs the ball and sinks in just enough and brings out the best performance of the Waldner WC89 blade. Really enjoy playing with this combination. GIVE IT A TRY!!!
Good backhand and forehand rubber. It has only good performance if you play active. Definitely a spin monster. Also possible to generate a huge amount of spin with less effort. But not easy to play if you play passiv. There are better rubbers for blocking and chopping. Spin sensitive. I found Dignics grip the ball much better than Tenergy series.
Wow, one of the most talked about products on the market and I understand why. This rubber can create power and spin like no other rubber that I've tried. Looping and smashing is really hard to stop for the opponent because of the sheer power and spin combined with a low arc. It makes your attacks really unpredictable and deadly. It's not for beginners because you need a decent technique to get the most of it or just be able to put it on the table. On an allround blade though, I think most players can handle it, to a certain extent. When blocking you need to turn your racket a bit downwards because otherwise the ball will just ping off the bat and out of the table. When you learn how to, you can do some amazing offensive blocking that will win you many points. When looping you need to be careful with your timing and technique because it doesn't have that much dwell time. Also you need to be really direct and not brush too much upwards, the rubber will do it for you. In this area many players will find it difficult with low balls or backspin, but again, when you learn it the rubber does it for you, with a lot of speed as well!
The downside for me is the durability. Of course, it doesn't need that much contact or tackiness to brush the ball which makes it good for a long time, but other than that it isn't very durable. Especially in relation to the price it can be very expensive to change rubbers. So make sure to take care of it! It's an extraordinary rubber!

A disappointment.
Only good for topspining, looping and speed. Nothing else.
Control is catastrophal: one stroke in the same conditions never gives the same results - > very unpleasant springy catapult effect and elastic caoutchouc sensation.
DHS Goldarc 8, DHS Hurricane 3, Thibar MX-P or Yasaka Mark V, Joola Rhyzm.. Have a much better feeling with a much more reliable throw results in short game and blocks and are globally much more forgiving.

I've been using this rubber for 3 years now. It is the most durable rubber I've used so far (will try Dignics 05 in the future).
Although not as prominent as initially, it still retains it's catapult effect that makes this rubber so scary.
I used this rubber primarily on BH, and if you are an aggressive BH attacker, this is the best rubber you could ask for. The catapult effect and the suddenness of the ball often catches your opponent off guard which lets you either take the rally initiative or win the point outright. Because of it's bounciness, i'd say it is the easiest and most effective tensor rubber for looping mid distance. At close to the table, the margin for error is a lot smaller.
This rubber has great spin capabilities. Although not on the same league as Chinese rubbers, for tensors, Tenergy 05 is the best I've encountered so far. Especially on slow openings/brushing strokes, you really feel the ball sink and propel with loads of topspin.
One contention I had however was trying to lift backspin close to the table. Due to the high throw angle, you'd have to close the blade angle, which would sometimes cause the ball to go into the net from the backspin. So it's a balance between brushing upwards to counteract the backspin while closing the blade angle. However, when it was achieved, it made for a difficult return for the opponent.
In terms of control, because of the strong catapult effect, the Tenergy 05 has a tendency to pop the ball up high on serve returns or backhand blocks if you are not careful. I'd also rate it as more sensitive to spin than other Tenergy lines like the Tenergy 80.
Still, overall still an excellent rubber, and an extraodinarily deadly BH weapon if used correctly. Would definitely recommend.
Speed: MX-P > Tenergy 80 > Tenergy 05 > H3 Provincial > H3 Neo=H8 Hard
Spin: H8 Hard > H3 Provincial > H3 Neo > Tenergy 05 > Tenergy 80 > MX-P

Very fast and spinny, but suprisingly with a lot of control. Even for me as a intermediate player I feel that this rubber has improved my game. Best rubber I've used so far.
I was anxious when buying this rubber due to reading reviews about the problems with control that some people may have when using it.
I was extremely happy when I first hit the ball with the T05, the Tenergy rubbers give a whole new feeling when hitting the ball that can't be described.
My game is primarily based around spin so this is the most important aspect for me. The spin that you can get with the T05 is amazing, if you have the adequate technique, the amount of different types of spin you can produce with the T05 is staggering. As most reviews mention, the topspin strokes you can produce with this rubber, whether they are more driven or looped, are immense and often are winners in rallies.
This racket despite being listed as the slowest out of the main 3 Tenergies is extremely fast, and very spin sensitive. If you can learn to control the speed of this rubber the strokes you can produce are extremely fast with immense amounts of spin, another strength of the Tenergy 05 not found in other rubbers; the balance between spin and speed in every shot. The control of the rubber must be addressed though, you need to have the correct technique in order to use and control this rubber effectively, and is quite spin sensitive so you need to have very good ball control in order to use this rubber with all strokes. Push shots close to the table in short-short receive are the main shot you'll need to look to remaster with this rubber, and chops aren't really an option with this rubber but if you are player primarily looking to play chops you shouldn't be buying this rubber anyway of course.
In all, if you have the technique, this is by far the best rubber I have ever tried and is absolutely lethal in topspin strokes at mid-distance from the table, an easy 10/10 if you have the technique necessary to control it.

Without a shadow of doubt the Absolute best Table Tennis Rubber I've ever used !!
Its been 3 weeks since I have been using this on my forehand side. Good so far. Nice upgrade from Donic Bluefire.
Taking some time to get used to. But good rubber. Helping me on improving my loops. Able to hit far from table with excellent control.

Very good rubber, speed and spine regular fine, if you boosted that. Recommended to pair with medium stiff and soft blades.
After 4 months with this rubber in ma lin soft carbon blade
It is a good rubber for:
Blocking, easy to attack heavy spin, speed, excellent power loop, manufacturing quality, good performance and consistency in BH probably for the shortest and most compact strokes, good feeling.
It is a bad rubber for:
FH drive is impossible to keep the ball on the table, inconsistent in some strokes, you wonder why the ball bounces out of control, sensitive to spins, feels softer than 45 degrees, you can't hit hard the services because the ball will come out from the table, difficult short services, too high angle, too high price, you pay high price to lose control in FH.
Now I understand why Chinese players do not use this rubber in FH, you cannot put energy in your arm because you will be very inconsistent, I would recommend using it in BH, I have felt more control in FH using tenergy 80.
I will return to nittaku g1 is excellent in everything at 50% of the price.

Now I understand why Chinese players do not use this rubber in FH, you cannot put energy in your arm because you will be very inconsistent, I would recommend using it in BH, I have felt more control in FH using tenergy 80.
I will return to nittaku g1 is excellent in everything at 50% of the price.
The balance between rotation and speed is the advantage of this rubber. I use PP VISPOWER II ALC FL M.I.T. Blade, I will always use it, let me enjoy playing table tennis.
After using this rubber for 6 months , my observations:
- One of the best medium hard rubber
-Durable , not lost its mojo after regular playing for 6 months daily 1-2 hours
-Very high throw angle with alc blades , does not forgive on bad shots
-Topspin/loop - 10/10
-Backspin - 9/10
-Block - 8/10
-Chop - 9/10
-Serve - 9/10
-Sidespin -9/10
-smash-8/10
-lob-8/10
-Distance from table - upto 3 meters easily effective
-Touch game - 9/10
Not for passive players, u need to have good physical and stroke movement or else this rubber will fail.

Rubber is hard to learn with. 9 months in with 6 months coaching I stepped up to this rubber 2 weeks in and could not control it. After about 7 months in I played with it on my backhand so much my forehand was non-existent. Safe to say this rubber is very fast and very spinny. Do not learn with it because consistency should come first but a great step up when ready. Is fragile so be careful but does last a while if you clean it and store it properly.
Tenergy 05 (2.1mm) paired with a Bty Cypress G Max J-Pen blade.
Been using T05 for the past 3, 4 years, after trying several different rubbers, unfortunately, there is nothing close to Tenergy.
It's bouncy, so, it requires skill to control the ball, specially on the short game. Rubbers are consistent from sheet to sheet. It lasts from 8 to 12 months with me playing/training about 10hours/week.
But so far, I couldn't find any other rubber that I could replace Tenergy 05 with.

Nothing extraordinary. The rubber is not long lasting and you may find a similar rubber with cheaper price.
I went from Yasaka Rakza X to Tenergy 05 - 1.9mm on my forehand and i'm happy i did. The switch was quite easy and i noticed a lot of extra spin and speed. Topspins have a huge variety if you have the proper skills, however it is quite sensitive to incoming spin. It's not an easy sheet to play with, but if you know what you are doing, you will give your opponent a hard time
The best rubber for looping. I have use many top spin rubber from Butteffly, yasaka, donic, andro, stiga, nittaku and dhs. Pairing with viscaria, T05 is the most high throw angle rubber you can buy on market. Yes there are many offensive rubber that are faster than T05 but no one got spin high throw angle like T05. Today we have Dignics 05 and T05 hard but this new generation rubber should be pair with heavier(92g++) looping blade to maximize it spin potential. If you use lightweight blade(85g--), the ball just go faster with lower throw angle. For average player, T05 with medium weight viscaria still the best for high throw angle with more control. For pro player, D05 and T05hard should be pair with heavier viscaria to get the high throw because the sponge are harder.
If you are a professional player, this is the rubber for you. If you are a club level player, this is NOT the rubber for you.
Pros: Amazing rubber for looping at mid distance. Great for flicking and starting rallies. Decent at blocking. Its a looping machine and generates a lot of spin. BUT has a trade off (see below).
Cons: Very very sensitive to incoming spin. You dont do a serve return with this rubber. You flick or loop to get the rally started. There is always a trade off. This rubber has no control. Your technique has to be perfect (hence a professional player)
You can't smash the ball and end rallies with this rubber (unless you are using the max thickness) which has no control close to the table. Trade offs again.
It is very expensive for a club level player. I can buy 2 Rakza7 sheets (which is better performance to price ratio IMO) for 1 tenergy sheet.
Secret to beating the Tenergy players in my club. Generate a lot of diff spin mixed with diff lengths, it is hard for tenergy players to control spin. They try and loop everything, or go defensive and you attack. Do not try and loop with them. Dont play to their strengths, but expose their (tenergy) weakness. Variation with high spin, and the tenergy players are out of their element - cant loop all the time and it becomes unforgiving for them. I think JO Waldner would easily dismantle tenergy pros with his ALL+ Round game.

Works great, but definitely over rated, have tried rubbers just as good for half the price.

Ratings for 2.1mm. I played Tenergy 05 for about 1.5 years. I used it on Timo Boll ZLF blade and Timo Boll ZLC blade. I think Tenergy 05 is the best Tenergy. I like the feeling a lot more than Tenergy 05 FX. 2.1 weighs 49g. I have tried 1.9, but didn't find more control. It takes a long time to get used to Tenergy because the catapult effect is non linear - I found you have to change the racket angle a lot depending on how fast you brush the ball when looping. If you are able to close the racket angle almost flat and brush the ball with high speed then the ball will fly out with excellent spin. When you are on your A game, this rubber will deliver winners, but if you are tired or your mind is not in the game this rubber will punish you. A lot of people use this rubber without knowing how to use it effectively because they see so many pros use it. Avoid putting this on stiff blades, even pros don't do this. I like this for backhand in 2.1 because you can do flicks over table easily and loops behind the table. On forehand I find this rubber is best mid distance, but I prefer to play closer to the table. Like others have said, this rubber is amazing on looping and flicks, but everything else like chopping, blocking or pushing is just okay. You need to have excellent touch control, which takes a long time to develop.
17-06-2018:-Amazing rubber, but not easy to use if you are just recreational player who does not like to do hours of practice drills.Flat hits will always go out-very bouncy.Even high balls have to be looped...not hit flat. But if you loop drive.....boy ...the ball is grabbed by the rubber and looped in a lovely arc--beautiful to see, great sensation and feeling....just admire your shot...lol.Short game is not easy.Chop/push is below the quality offered by Rakza 7...or goldarc 8.Underspin serve is too spinny....opponent look at their blade to see if the ball was wet...lol...I love it.
key Points:-
1.BH flick is awesome.....lifts backspin easily wit proper technique(took me 2 yrs to get a mild hold on this)
2.Serve is ok....not the most spinny, but still very strong
3.Snakes=best rubber for this shot.
4.Loop drives=lethal
5.Blocks= average....its a attacking/looping rubber.....blocks need huge adjustment in blade angle,even then most will go out.Best blocking rubber=Nanoflex FT48,Joola Mambo-H,Aurus,Diginics(too good).
6.This save ur energy-you don't need to use all your power/energy-now I know why TIMO BOLL seems to be hitting baby swing shots, but the have such venomous spin and speed too.

The best rubber for distance shoot but it is the most expensive rubber. Costing almost to a mid grade car tire. Unless you are paid professional table tennis like Xin Xu or Ma Long. If money is not the issue then go ahead and enjoy it. Less only 3 - 6 months!
One of the best rubbers out there! Has great combination of speed and spin, experienced players will be able to control it very well, has many gears and very high throw angle, either smashing the ball or frictioning with the rubber will produce high speeds and the later one lots of spin. Using two of it with a Timo Boll ALC will create a powerful combination, also works really well with a tamca5000 blade (super high speed) slower blades tend to not give a good feel on the ball so I would not recommend alongside. Overall it is for high level players, not for beginners, would totally recommend.
A few years ago I made the mistake of switching to Tenergy when I was still a beginner. It caused me a lot of trouble at first. I couldn't control, it was too fast, and overall I felt like I was wasting such a good rubber lol.
I did improve my technique and get used to it, however. After a few weeks, as an intermediate player who didn't have very good technique, almost all of my shots would land on the table no matter how I hit them. It's a superb rubber. Great spin, speed and control. A little too heavy too.
The durability was excellent too, as the rubber lasted me almost a year, (the rubber had actually mostly worn off, but I could still do everything with it).
Of course this rubber is best suited for players who know what they are doing, as there is nothing this rubber can't do, but don't make the same mistake I made if you're a beginner. :)

This rubber is very good for people who like to chop or have a lot of spin(topspin, backspin, underspin, sidespin) on their serves (pendulum, tomahawk, etc). It also produces good speed and great control.Personally,I think that the tenergy series is one of the best rubbers out there.I would highly recommend it to advanced players that are at pro stage to take it for tournaments and other events!
Amazing rubber. The best attacking FH rubber ever. Great spin and speed. Very hard to play against. Consistent and better for European style of play. Good for FH and BH. Tested on multiple blades. Spin sensitive, not very durable if rubbed into the table, but otherwise lasts a long time. Even a really old sheet of tenergy 05 still has the same throw angle, just slower and had less spin.
Great and already possible to say legendary rubber. High speed and awesome spin potential. What is quite surprising is that I have never feel that Tenergy rubbers would be highly sensitive for incoming spin. The true is that you have to play actively!
If you are very fit and train very often then this rubber can be fun. Otherwise it is better to play a more controlled rubber
Just got 2 T05 on second hand. 2,1 mm 4 months of use. I play with Rasanter R47, wich I find great.
But I feel like T05 is another level of play. I'm not going to specifie every aspect of the game. It's just that I feel no weakness with this rubber! I'm very confident in every shot!!! Incredible feeling... Sad that I didn't try this one years ago....

Tenergy 05 is simply the best pure looping rubber in the world even 10 years after its introduction. It's also still the world standard for non-Chinese professionals and aspiring professional players. The first time I looped with T05 it brought a huge smile to my face, it's a special and unique rubbber indeed. It's fast, but not crazy fast, and has an extremely high throw angle which coupled with its bouncy sponge and grippy topsheet create a perfect looping machine. However, the high throw angle and bounciness that make it such a great looping rubber also make it more challenging to use in the short game. Pushes are easier to pop up high or go long and service return can be difficult unless you are experienced in reading spin. That's why this rubber is more recommended for advanced to pro level players as they can easily mitigate this rubbers weaknesses through ability and practice while fully taking advantage of its outrageous spin and loop potential. Highly recommended for advanced looping attackers.
Well.... Tried T05 on my FH for the first time today. For BH I use DHX C8OX. Blade, SUCD. Have experimented with a lot of rubbers such as DHS H3Neo, Donic Bluefire JP01T, Stiga Magna TC II. All very good rubbers. Compared to T05 they are only fade shadows. T05 is simply perfect. Speed, Spin and control is just awesome. Expensive yes, but it really seems like it is worth the money. Was sincerely hoping that the difference would be less significant so that I could stick to DHS H3Neo who is priced way lower, but it seems there is no way back now.
Absolutely love it. Its just a totql beast what comes to looping if you have a good blade perfect forehand rubber. Bit expensive though.
Tenergy is just a fantastic rubber!although the extremely high price makes playing with it an expensive habit there´s nothing to say about how well it works for my offensive playstile. Tenergy 05 is one of the best forehand rubbers I´ve ever used, possibly the best! If you´re a begginer or a medium-low level player and are still learning you´re strokes I wouldn´t recomend this rubber, but if you already have a good technique and have 75$ GO FOR IT!!!
There are tons of reviews out there, so you probably get the idea. It's very good for looping against any ball at any distance. The sponge and topsheet are dense - when you brush, you can feel the ball dig into all of it before it explodes out. It's fairly bouncy, so touch and soft push may need adjustment as well as close range looping. Because it is so bouncy and sensitive to spin, you shouldn't do any passive strokes. This rubber is 100% for looping/top spin.
Using T05 on my forehand, red 2.1mm. The rubber is great for opening loops, counter loops, etc. I find that the rubber generates loads of spin even with minimal contact. The downside is that it is sensitive to in-coming spin so you need to be prepared when blocking drives. I would recommend this for forehand only. Well worth the price.
Love this on my forehand. Super spinny and fast loops. Have used this on Timo Boll ALC and Freitas ALC. I have also tried it on Garaydia ALC. I could not control the blade/rubber on the Garaydia, but that seems to be the blade more than anything.
best rubber i have tried good grip, good feeling and good speed. You'll have effortless strokes when you use this.
It's easier to play than I thought. I play it in 1.7 on my FH on a kevlar blade. It's way livelier than the T05FX and still controllable. The amount of spin I can create is just brutal, while it's still not really reactive to incoming spin. I like it on my Donic Kevplay, it's a great fit and I can happily say I found the perfect match for that blade.
I have no problem with this rubber! It works better than anything else I found for my style and dimensions. PROS: good at everything; Superb control if you are accustomed to the high throw ; Can be used on back or forehand CONS: Haven't really found any.....maybe not as fierce attack as Hurricane III national blue sponge, but much more pleasant for me to use.
Some people say that this is too reactive to incoming spin, but I think that it's fine. It's more reactive than 64 and 80 yes, but not as reactive as the the H3 Neo.
P/S: I used the 05 and H3 on two different blades, so the comparison might not be as accurate.

I have used many rubbers trying to find ones that best suited my play style (2 winged shake hand attacker)(current set up is viscera t05 on forehand and t80fx on backhand) and was really struggling to find something that had as much spin as hurricane but as much pop and speed and donic m1. well i found it but at a cost. although it is not as skinny as hurricane it does have the speed of m1 but with an absolutely massive amount of spin comparably. the real difference between this and other rubbers comes from the speedy sponge and the skinny top sheet.
Spin - absolutely insane amount of spin but inly when you hit hard enough to activate the sponge, this becomes quite challenging especially on serve.
Speed - really fast there are faster those don't have as many gears.
Short game/flicks - really good at both but you have to have a very gentle touch because if you hit the sponge the ball goes long on short push which opens an opportunity for your opponent.
Blocking - hard but manageable if you really practice like I have you can but it does take time.
Is it worth the price - yes it is for me, but it depends on your play style if you play close to medium range with heavy speed and spin this is the rubber for you forehand or backhand. i prefer forehand because this rubber is hard to block with.

Tried a used sheet of tenergy 05 on an allwood blade recently and was instantly amazed at the beautiful grip and control. Great feeling, was laughing as I ripped super juiced loops and topspins effortlessly. The pushes and chops were fine and I'm sure I will get used to its feel. ?? You get what you pay for, Butterfly could probably charge more and still have people using what really works the best! I am excited to put a new sheet on each side of my favorite blade and take my game somewhere. Big smile!
The best Euro/Jap style rubber bar none. Expensive but tends to last longer than it's competitors. If you want something a bit softer get a Tenergy 64. Bit harder get a Tenergy 25. Might be a bit too powerful if you have a USATT rating under 1800 or so.
This rubber is easy to use for backspin or topspin. it is suitabble for 40+ balls. this is good for backhand n very expensive price.
Definitely one of the best rubbers I used. I'm a penholder and depend of only one side. Good for attack and nice for blocking. Speed and rotation is the main characteristics. I'm already buying another one.
That is a good rubber for bh but not so good for fh. I play 4 times a week and i need to replace it every 5 months
Reference rubber. Feels harder, faster and less control than 64, but same rubber and same sponge as 64. The pips are more dense. As all tenergies the rubber last quite long but falls apart in edges quite easily.
prefect loop, god rubber. This is spinny rubber with great speed. I use both sides.
Incredible for looping but unless you are a very advanced player it hurts more than it helps as it is very reactive to spin, bouncy in the short game, and hard to control on everything other than loops. Most players using I feel it hurts more than it helps. But if you are truly a high level looper it could be great.
Perfect for quick attackers, a loop monster rubber and excellent spin. There are other very good rubbers close to tenergy in terms of speed and spin although its very pricey but tenergy 05 is totally different from the other.
I play SP on bh and tenergy 05 on fh side. From my experience, this is phenomenal rubber and I will tell you why. It is not only about the amount of spin or about feeling and control. I noticed that when I play with esn rubbers or other rubbers like mark V, it makes me lazy and passive. I just stop moving and start to play without necessary aggression and tend to rely more on my SP bh. Tenergy 05 pushes me to aggressive play, to correct my technique and footwork. This process is spontaneous and in the middle of my match I notice that I use every chance to attack with fh side and when I see it is succesful and effective I do it more and better. So I ask, which rubber is better? The one that suits your nature and helps you to stay within your comfort zone or the one that force you to step out, to change and improve your play? tenergy 05 is really different and no other rubber is close to it in this "improving" aspect. There are other very good rubbers close to tenergy in terms of speed, spin and control...yes, but tenergy 05 is simply different overall.
Playing with Xiom Vega Euro Carbon on both sides for about 4 months. I can say that this rubber suprising for me. this is because I was expecting a rubber which is spinny but uncontrollable. What I found was, however, that control is quite there maybe due to pairing with a controlable blade. Opening the game from both sides is easy. When you loop the ball from both sides, you feel the rubber very well, which I like much. Spins are perfect and you can fasten if you adjust yourself. When the ball is opposite side, sometimes you may not manage the spin but you can handle if you work on it. Moreover, sometimes you can catch unbeleivable balls and send to other side of table. However and ironically you may face some difficulties with easy balls and serves which I don't like. but this is probably due to frequency of playing table tennis, that is rare in my case. Overall, the rubber is expensive but I can understand why many professionals play with this rubber. Bon spins!!! :)
Expensive, but from my experience, it has great durability and the rubber does not lose much of its spring effect after a few months of constant play.
Really the best rubber you can get but not worth the money. Very expensive for what you get compared to mx-p.
The world standard. Supreme leader among table tennis rubbers. High throw, high speed and very expensive. Best for FH with the FX version for BH unless you are an advanced player. This rubber has a short learning curve as it performs differently from your usual tensor type inverted rubber. Use 1.9mm for close to table play and 2.1mm for mid and away playing styles. Always use a cover film regardless of Butterfly's telling you it's not needed as it will really extend the life of this rubber. Would have rated this one a 10 however price is a factor. Outstanding on Xiom Strad, BTY TBS, Maze or all wood blades in OSP line. Pure looping dream on BTY Korbel or Primorac. Go rob your piggy bank you know you want to try at least one sheet.
An excellent rubber. It definitely produces a lot of spin, the only con being that it's very sensitive to incoming spin. Lifting underspin is easy, looping is good, smashing is fine, as is blocking. The control is good, but it is an advanced rubber. This is probably the "main" rubber in europe, but it's also the most expensive one, and to be honest, if you have been playing less than 5 years, there are other rubbers that would suit you just as well if not better. Don't overrate yourself, you're not Timo Boll :P
One of the best rubbers I had tested, so good speed, awesome spin, always consistent and more durable than other rubbers. By the way I dont like it, because it has a very pronunced imbuilt effect (high tension), which does it harder to get different gears, it is difficult to control and you have to be trained to get the best of this rubber in all play situations, moreover blocks and serve receiving are a challenge because of his strong effect.
King of spin. It generates lots of spinny strokes, and the serve is amazing. It's throw angle is out of this world, what a beautifull arc it generates. Has good speed, and for my surprise, i felt it kind of soft, and with good control. Great Rubber.
This rubber is 10/10 but little pricy and its requires little skills to take full advantage of Tenergy 05.
The most popular rubber on the planet....just not for me. I like Tenergy 80 better. The high throw of 05 is just to extreme for me.
The best no doubt and the price doesnt deny it. I bought this rubber for myself, mainly to not be limited by my rubbers' capabilities. It does take a few days if not weeks to really get the hang of using it, let alone to be a threat with it. I love it and I use it on both sides of my Timo Boll spirit. Great for spin and once I got good with it, I was good at countering spin
Let me started to say that I've used several types of Tenergy rubbers on fh and bh. T05fx, T05, T64, T64fx and T80 (see my other reviews on these other types).
T05 is compared to all other tenergy from above the one which can produces the most spin. As a matter of fact even the softer version the T05fx can not produce the same amount of spin on a spin stroke. But T05fx has some other features. But because of this it is true that this rubber is very sensitive for incoming spin. Especially when blocking you need to close the angle of the bat to keep the ball low. Its speed is dangerous but not as fast as T64 or T80. The downside of using T05 is that you need to adjust your technique to the rubber. You will not be able to play a flat hit or direct agressive block because of the automatic spring sponge effect.
Most of the time people purchasing t05 is because of this spring sponge effect. The auto speed and spin. But with good technique you can produce a lethal stroke as wel with other rubbers.
Nowadays I prefer using the rakza 7. It could also produce lots of spin. And with a good stroke you can generates good speed on it. The Main advantage over t05 is that you are the one who controle speed and spin. Not the rubber.
T05 is compared to all other tenergy from above the one which can produces the most spin. As a matter of fact even the softer version the T05fx can not produce the same amount of spin on a spin stroke. But T05fx has some other features. Very spiny rubber.
It has not much speed but you can add speed with the power of your stroke.
I recommend it for people who like to play topspin attack and create a good serve.

Very good rubber with spin and speed. However using this rubber with control is not easy. It is very sensitive to incoming spin and very precise and very less forgiving. Having high precision means you play amazing loops some times and really bad some other times, because a slight change in the racket angle or where you hit the ball makes lot of difference in where the ball will reach at the other end of the table. You should have good judgement on where the ball will be(low or high, wide or near etc) and be able to move well to reach the ball and change your body position really well to loop a ball with this hard rubber. Smashing(or flat hitting) is really hard with this rubber. The ball leaves the racket immediately and things go worse if you are using a hard or fast blade. I have both pert korbel(off) and primorac(off-) and I was able to control my loops better with primorac. You need to have an softer blade with this, the rubber is very hard and if your blade is also hard, the ball leaves the racket immediately which makes it harder to control. Generally it is t either you have a soft blade, hard rubber or hard blade, soft rubber. But not soft-soft or hard-hard.
The best of the Tenergy series. Tenergy 05 offers both good speed and control and suits the most offensive players. Very good contact and feel from mid distance and very easy to control. Sadly the Tenergy rubbers it to expensive for me but I like how the Tenergy 05 plays very much.
Throw angle is super high and hard to play with, not very fast and highly overrated. It is to hard to p[lay short. Consistent but nothing special.
Med-Hard feel, fast and direct when hit. Low dwell time, but long enough to do what you want it to do. Blocking is great, catapaults the ball back to the opponenet with great precision. Touch plays are easy. Ive been playing with this rubber for over 5 months and it still performs well. I got this rubber as a christmas present, but i would never but this, $75?!?!?! No thanks. Best FH so far.
Many rubber has good speed and spin as t05 like blue fire m1, andro rasanter r50, nittaku fast arc, stiga mantra, rakza 9, tibhar mxp, dhs ga8. But there is no rubber that has same characteristic to t05, high throw angle with good speed and spin. If throw angle is not a problem then the other rubber will be better because of the price. I was looking for t05 alternative but no rubber will be same or better than him.
It is a very good rubber. I have been using it for more than a month and it still feels really new.
This rubber is mostly suited for loopers, giving the rubber very high spin and speed and it also has very good control.
You can also do touch plays without difficulty even though it has a very high speed.

Keep improving your control, this wild horse will turn into a lethal weapon. Is it worth for the price? I think it's yes to me, after tried Rakza7/ 7 soft, Fastarc G1/S1, Hurricane 3/ Neo 3, Tenegy 25/ 05FX/ 80...
I will use FH 05/ BH 80 from now on...

superb rubber :-) but very important weather conditions :( cold/humidity - rubber not play
i have been using this rubber as red on my blade and 64 as black find them heavier than most rubbers but it osent bother me because i use a light blade cornilleau hinotec off i am sure that if you where looking to buy a rubber i would give you one choice tenergy 05 in my opinion it is better than tenergy 64 in power but tenergy 64 is better in spin
Really fast rubber, excellent spin, good control. For skillled offensive players.
This rubber is probably one of the most talked-about rubbers on the database. Like it or hate it, the debate will continue. After using Tenergy 05 for eight months in 2.1mm, I've made my list of pros and cons. I'll start with the pros: the catapult effect and explosiveness of this rubber are very noticeable and once you learn to control it, you will be dangerous. The short game is made very easy with this rubber. Looping is out of this world, pushing isn't that difficult, and blocking is near automatic. As long as you angle your blade right, 05 will shoot the ball right to your opponent. Now the cons: it is great for looping and blocking, but not much else. Flat hitting and chopping are very unforgiving. When you try driving with it, getting it to stay on the table isn't easy. Having a high spin rating means it will be sensitive to opponents' spin, so serve receive is difficult if you're not sure of what you're doing. If you are player!
who loops and blocks a lot of the time, go with 05. If you are a looper who also wants the option to push, flat hit, or drive sometimes, I suggest you try Tenergy 64-FX.

Tenergy 05:
Push: The reviews that say short game is difficult with 05 are drunk. This is possibly the best rubber Ive used BH or FH for short pushes; spin and placement were both solid.
Flick: Flicks were impressive.
Banana Flip: Easy to control provided the wrist motion was fast enough. ¦ cant baby hits with this rubber at all.
Counter: I was fairly impressed at close-to-the-table counters with this rubber;
Loop: Possibly the best rubber on the market for looping. Strong mid-distance spin and speed.
Chop: Excellent chop game.
Lift: I didnt even notice backspin.
Serves: Probably the best rubber Ive used for serving as well.
People complain about the price, but it's only about 5 bucks more than any rubber that comes near it on a quality level... lasts a really long time. I doubt I'll switch from this rubber (and I've been a hardcore EJ for about 2.5 years)

this rubber is too fast for me always overhitting the ball not really forgiving plus short game need to take care i personally think its over rated for the price
I was playing with Sriver G3.
I honestly didn't see much of a change at lower speed strokes. The difference really comes in on the hard topspin hits. The speed to spin ratio enables the ball to get back down on the table much easier than with the Sriver.

Zillion reviews on this rubber at this point in time.
When it first hit the market (think around 2009 early on...) it had WOW factor to it definitely. It was the best tension rubber by a mile.
Times have changed since those days. Now days we have many rubbers with similar performance and many with better performance.
Most companies can produce high end rubbers now days in there own way and style. Some produce hi speed tensors, some produce hi spin tacky rubbers, mixtures of those two and many other top performers. Today is more of a price question then anything else for me. It is very hard to justify any Tenergy prices at this point. Xiom, Stiga, Tibhar and so on produce just as good or even better rubbers then Tenergy at half of the price. If BTY was not such a huge company i am not sure if those prices would hold at all.
Plz do not get me wrong in regards to Tenergy. This rubber is phenomenal to play with. In a way it is a another classic (Sriver, Mark, Hurricane....).
So to sum it up :
Pros: one of the better performing rubbers on the market (in all aspects).
Cons: you can get better rubber for less money.
Recommendations:
I would recommend this rubber to the players that dont have to buy sheets themselves.
I would also recommend this to a time travelers who can go back to 2009 or so and be the first in line to have the playing edge without glue.
Definitely would not recommend this rubber any more to people who actually have to purchase their own sheets.
Enjoy TT and have fun:)

I started using this rubber with butterfly chuan chih yuan. It is a fast rubber, with good control and awsome spin. T05 is heavy and hard. You have to train a lot to get adapted. This rubber is very good for forehand, because you can do heavy strokes. With T05 you can do very fast and spinny serves. Cut and topsin are incredible. If you are a good player, then this rubber is perfect.
i got mine two days ago, and i can say is a very different rubber for me, than i use to. First of all, is the control and spin, then about the speed i can do slow and fast shots, but that depends on me, i like that. About the throw angle is lower than bluefire m1, but a little higher than acuda s2. For the first time in years i can say that i like a rubber that can do it all, and can generate so much spin. Pretty nice, i have t05 1.9 red, and im gonna get t05 2.1 black in 1 week more.
update: after 3 weeks with this rubber i can say it can do it all, but u need to take care of short game cuz it can have a high throw and u can lose the point like that. Other than that, perfect rubber, currently using it on bh, and my bh improved on somethings

Overrated, an average rubber . Xiom , Tihbar, Andro , Donic, Nittaku, make as good or even better rubbers that cost a lot less!
As directly below, I was sold from the first hit, and bought the rubber immidiately after a couple minutes of playing.
Tenergy has also made realize that there are no "best" rubbers," but rather rubbers that suite your style and stroke. The Tibhar Evolution MXP that I used on FH before made my game hard to control and inconsistent. It is probably every bit as good as Tenergy, but not for me.
I am an agressive all round attacker/opening looper at mid distance from the table, and am tall and fairly strong. The medium speed is ideal for my strength and already very fast Xiom Hayabusha. The great spin of Tenergy make it ideal for my playing style (as well as cutting and serving). The soft, light, catipult feel of the rubber hitting the ball feels good for my stroke.
So, considering the wealth of my other reviews, I don't think I need to add any more. It's a top quality rubber and perfect for me.

I really hate this rubber. It is stone hard, heavy and without feel. Maybe it is good for best world players but not for me definitely (and I'm not beginner). If you hit hard, the ball goes lightning fast. You can also make crazy spin when serving. But that is about everything for me. Control is awful. Slower loops or brushes are hard to perform, blocking and chopping not to mention. My backhand with Rakza7 soft for example is really great and fun to play, but with Tenergy it's disaster. I just do not feel the ball with this rubber. I think there are lots of better choices to spend 80 $ on TT equipment.
This is an excellent rubber. Loop monster and excellent spin, very costly. But prefer Calibra LT sound, much more bang for the buck.
Recently switched to Tenergy05 after I was recommended to put it on my child's racket. I ended up putting it onto my racket too after having a go. The rubber is very nice to play with. Speed is excellent over my previous rubbers (H3N, H2N, Sriver). The ball was a lot faster and I was putting in half the effort compared to my old rubber.
As for durability, a lot of reviews here say it is very durable, I beg to differ though. I put Tenergy05 on my child's racket while at a training camp. After 2 weeks of training (90 hours), the rubber has very visible signs of wear from the ball contacting it and the edges of the rubber chip and break with the slightest bump. At the end of the training camp the rubber looks like it has had mice gnawing around the entire edge of it. This also was the same on the BH side which has Tenergy64.
With my own bat, after I put Tenergy05/64 on it, I am EXTREMELY careful with it and have not hit it on the table edge or anything, yet it has a chip on the edge. Also the same with visible wear. I have only trained with it for about 20 hours, yet it is starting to show wear on the spot where the ball contacts.
This rubber is usually in the $70-$90 range and very pricey for how easily it wears and damages, but I guess that is the property of the rubber and is what you must put up with if you want to use one of the best rubbers out there.

One of the best rubbers around
Too Pricey Though!
£100 if wanting two sides
Table tennis rubbers and their price these days :/

OMG ... Best rubber you can get for offensive style . Fall in love in it with the first topspin shot.
My setup is Tibhar xeon sensetic and Tenergy 05 for both BH & FH.
Best for looping , smashing and blocking
Very good spin and easely can generate a heavy spin serve .
More than perfect in topspin for both BH or FH
By the way , very nice feeling and high control indeed. And nice click sound.
Conclusion : a must bought rubber for offensive players.

Tenergy 05 is a very, and I mean VERY bouncy rubber. Due to its high tension surface it can project the ball at high speeds. I've used this rubber before and found it to be spinny as well as fast. However, I do not recommend this rubber to beginners or players who play a high control game. This rubber would be more suitable for aggressive players who tend to loop a lot. However, the price has become ridiculously high. I remember when it used to be only $55.00. Overall 8/10
this rubber is very good for bh i use 2.1mm on a stiga hybrid wood blade it's almost perfect looping is great the 1st topspin is very easy counterlooping and flicking is delightful. This rubber has so much gears you can play very soft or play outrageous quick it's really amazing, there isn't just another rubber that can do this other than this one ;o .overall a very good rubber for people with good technique! i've been playing with this rubber for 8 months now and i can clearly say that there is on the moment not a single rubber that performs better then T05 it's simply the best rubber in the world! After u get used to this rubber u don't need another one, you will hate them because this rubber is the best!
many people say it all for this rubber.2 negatives for this rubber no so good block and the price.but i love it for fh make the best top spins
I am admitting that this rubber is amazing but still I dont like playing with as I think that the rubber plays better than me. I am simply able to play any stroke with this rubber but it does not mean I am good at all strokes. What I think is that this rubber has soul of some table tennis legend, who plays far better than I can ever be :-D
I do not personally like tenergy but i can tell there is a lot of quality behind it. The reason i dontlike it is because you seem to get shots on without feeling like youve played the right shot, I prefer softer sponges, very fast.
Using Tenergy 05 in 1.7mm on Grubba ALL+ flexible wooden blade. Much better for match play than 2.1mm and still plenty fast enough. In 1.7mm Tenergy 64 can do everything from chop to loop to wristy TSP to counterhit. Most players are chosing 2.1mm and 1.9mm thinking that the 1.7mm will be too slow, but on the Grubba All+ this is not the case!! In fact for the first few sessions it is ultra fast and then settles down to be fast but controlable. My best combo ever for BH and and can twiddle to use on my FH to give different effect to my Tenergy 64 1.7mm FH rubber.
Usaully rubber reviews go along the lines it plays like rubber x but a bit faster etc. Tynergy is the first rubber that plays like nothing that exists on the market. The remarkable quality of this rubber is its gears, short game serves, pushes and flicks are tight spinny and easy to control-no pop ups that are associated with all the other new gen rubbers. Looping is enjoyably fast and the balls are heavily juiced and really kick. Looping off the bounce is difficult with this rubber due to its high throw - needs a very closed blade to execute.
Control: Great , rubber is like a lightly glues sriver not a pocket rocket but fast enough for agressive relooping away from the table.
Price: expensive but is easily the most durable of the new gen rubbers you wont be replacing this very often in a season so it works out only moderatly expensive.

Used this rubber on forehand and backhand and it is a cracking rubber. Fast and spinny, well worth a buy
before tenergy i use donic acuda s2 ... first immpresion is that is simular throw angle but tenergy have more control and speed.. to expensive..
upd after 3 years maybe more :) ... its good for playing against chopper, for forehand(because of high throw )its easyer to flick... its great for 3rd ball attack... on bh i have probl with reciving serves, because of shorter strike and shorter dwell time..
price+ durability , its one of the best buys
its not for beginners

Have arrived at T05 after trying Sriver Hurricane 2, Hurricane 3, 729 Cream, then onto first tensor, the excellent Vega Europe from Xiom.
The biggest change came when moving to the Vega but once the adjustments to stroke had been made, it was a revelation.
the Vega was 2mm on a Boll Spirit, the Tenergy is 2.1 on the same blade.
The 05 is a little harder and bouncier, throw is similar maybe a fraction higher, speed again similar a fraction more, and spin a little more.
I was initially concerned having read other reviews that it may be too much to handle, but it is no harder than making a few minor adjustments, With the correct stroke I can still hit as hard as I'm able and still keep it on the table, it dives back down on counter loops.
Blocking is a piece of cake, serves have good spin but at the moment are bouncing a bit, will improve.
Nice short game, good pushes, flicks, drop shots, but the big surprise is that I can stand 10ft behind the table chopping back topspin loops with great accuracy and lots of spin.
Best bit is its looping ability, it is lifting everything that comes at my forehand, and they are not going long or in the net, they go just where I want them, and land with quite a kick.
Flat hitting & smashes also good.
I have tried it on the backhand and although ok, the softer Vega is better for the backhand.
I have read that it is heavy, well I weighed the uncut sheets of both Vega and T05, and the 05 was 70g to the Vega 66g, however the 05 sheet is physically larger and when cut to fit the TBS, it is only 1gram heavier.
Very pleased overall

The best rubber that I've ever use, I tried this with my stiga rosewood 5,I think the speed is quite fast, and looping so well, no rubber can replace it!
Believe me,try buy one and try it!!!

I was using this rubber for 2 years. Because the incredible price, i searched for a substitute...i tried Xiom Omega Euro but that did not work, i mean, is a too different rubber (not spin-speed)...right now, i had to return to my old T05...if somebody knows a fast, spinny with high throw angle rubber, please. i'll appreciate it.
un gran caucho exepcional coloca buen spin ala bola es de espuma blanda y caucho duro lo que ace una convinaicion ami gusto exelente vale el precio recomendable 100%
amazing rubber. such a good FH rubber and if you have the 64 on the Bh its a lethal combination. i have these on a balsa carbon x5 and its the perfect set up for an offensive player.
The best thing about T05 is durability. Mine's at least 2 years old and it seems like it's 6 months, and I'm not lying. Sure it's slower and less spinnier, but it does not have a sharp decline in performance.
Wow. Just an amazing rubber. Very blade dependent. On some blades it is really slow and uncontrolable. On other it is fast and spinny. I have found the most success with it on the forehand of a TBS and the backhand of the TB ALC. Hated it on all wood blades. Was just terrible for smashing and driving.
Excellent rubber for producing heavy strong topspin. Its very spinny & fast too, but I personal find its strength most noticeable when grazing the ball at high speeds.
wild rubber crazy speed and spin....
but i find it little hard to control....
and i love the sound of hitting the ball with it ...
but we can only say that T05 is one of the best rubbers in table tennis world today.

I was using it some time ago but I'm going back to the DHS Skyline 2 TG2 Neo. I can compare these 2 rubbers very well now. These rubbers are very close when comparing speed. Tenergy's throw angle is much higher (really high for me). Both rubbers have medium hard sponge but Tenergy's higher throw makes me somehow more difficult to controll it. But it depends on your style, I think many people like that because it is easier to get the ball over the net. Spin - DHS produces more, I'd say about 10-15%. It is not a huge difference but I can feel it. Conclusion - very good rubber, good for beginners and forgives mistakes. On the other hand you can buy much cheaper rubbers with more spin and controll (for example DHS Skyline 2 TG2 Neo). 8/10 (I'd rate it 9/10 if it wasn't so expensive).
EDIT (November 2011): I have to modify my Tenergy review. I originally wrote "it is good for beginners" but it really is not. I was using it for a longer time now and i must say this rubber is fast (but not extra fast), but I can't controll it because I have troubles with it's high throw. Additionally, I can't get a ball over the net so easily like with Rakza. I don't know, this rubber probably doesn't fit to my style.

Huge catapult, medium-high throw but long trajectory. If you brush a bit more, the ball shoots a lot forward anyway, it doesn't go upward as you expect. So it's good for mid distance but in my opinion it's a bad rubber for close to table loopers. It's hard to powerloop a half-long ball. And counterloop tends to shoot too straight and go to net.
This rubber was hard to "understand" on the very first time that I tried it. After 2 weeks of training, I realized that the arc of this rubber is damn high!
I have used many rubbers like mark V, sriver, coppa gold, coppa platin, coppa tagora, bryce list goes on but nothing beats this rubber great control with great spin and speed very good for offensive :)
i've used this rubber, but it doesn't fit in my game.. it's too fast for me and heavy.. and also it's a very expensive rubber, . it's good for offensive players.
Lets face it this is the industry standard by which all other rubbers in the world are compared. When it was $45 dollars a sheet I would hold my nose bite the bullet and really enjoy playing with a rubber that was going to have two great months of performance one not so great month then shell out another $45 to replace it. Now that it's $75 per sheet it's out of my tolerance. T05 gets a 7 out of 10 instead of a 10 out of 10 cause I look at all table tennis equipment through the prism of value. There are now better values out there. Way to go Butterfly.
This is a great rubber with outstanding spin and legendary status within the table tennis equipment market. It allows for great control whilst still being ridiculously fast and spinny, and has quite a high throw. When combined with an offensive blade it becomes quite a weapon.
The prohibiting factor is the high price, luckily it isn't as fragile as some of the tensor rubbers.

This is the best post speedglue ban rubber, for the consistent topspin player. It has an unique mid hardness sponge which is very bouncy and a hard very grippy topsheet. This combination results in extreme explosive topspins when the player use hard strokes to reach the sponge. However the player need some practice to play well with it because of the high spin reaction and the high throw. Unfortunately, this incredible rubber is too overpriced nowadays, then I need to search for alternatives.
very spinny rubber, but poor feeling. need to be very careful to control it. speed is ok only, the price is crazy! I dont think i will buy this again, cause i find a few rubber is cheaper and (better) than this.
This rubber is incredibly fast and capable of doing some lightning shots. The rubber is extremely grippy and not tacky at all. I found that you have to hit the ball quite flat otherwise it's easy to send long off the table. You can really feel a catapult effect and the ball accelerates off the table. Very consistent if struck well and the rubber seems very durable. I have no doubt that this rubber will take my game to the next level, I'm using it on the timo boll spirit blade. I'm not sure whether it's worth it for the price as I haven't tried many other rubbers but believe me when I say it's an awesome rubber for the attacking player. It's ok at pushes etc but can tend to send the ball a bit high so it's definitely for a player that loves to loop and attack fast. I'd say get a sheet of this stuff and try it out because there may be nothing else like this rubber!
Topspin is very very good with this. I think its the best 'half distance' rubber. Best for forehand. If you want something like this but you attack nearly of the table, you can better get yasaka rakza 7.
It is most offensive and legend rubber in Butterfly production ever.
most excellent in ( control, spin and speed )
I can't say something else about Butterfly Tenergy 05.
Just buy one and play with it to it talks about itself.

$73.99 for one sheet in the usa so even if it is the best rubber out there its not worth it even for the most serious club/tournament player im done with butterfly and i hope other brands benefit from the outrageous prices of not just tenergy but butterfly blades and all rubbers and lets hope it doesnt start getting donic and others to raise there prices!!
I'm using this rubber on my primorac carbon n i find it when i am doing some topspin,it goes out of table. then, i switch to 729 CA Attacking Carbon blade with palio macro pro at my BH and the result is, I find it very very impressive with its speed n spin as well as its control. i manage to make a quick topspin with a low spin on the table but when makin a serves,i found it rather useless coz i couldn't make a short backspin serves n it always goes long to the opp side.anyway, this rubber goods for topspin attacking strategy, not for defensive styles.
If your rating is higher than 1700 you should be able to control this no problem. best rubber without glue that i've used in a while. cost an arm + leg.
if you don't feel like paying $65, get the bty catapult, which is a descent alternative.

Tenergy is by far the best rubber i have ever played with. But if Butterfly doesn't get their prices under control, they wont be selling anymore. Because who is going to spend $65.00 dollars a sheet, not including shipping. So thats over 130 dollars for both sides to be covered. But if you can find this rubber for the right price. Buy it!!
Fast but hard to control. Suitable for forehand only. Good for serving, blocking and smashing but hard to loop. Not advice for beginners.
Ahhh! Tenergy 05. In my opinion, Tenergy 05 is a very fast rubber and if your power loops and loop drives are very strong no matter what rubber you use, lookout because Tenergy might end up being just too fast for you. You will end up seeing too many of your shots going out of the table because of the uncontrollable power. If your basic strokes are well established and you would like to add the extra speed and spin to your game, then Tenergy 05 may be your answer. Another thing is that, I don't feel very good about using Tenergy 05 because of the price, its too expensive a rubber to have to keep replacing. It does not last very long even if you clean and cover the topsheet with protectors. If Butterfly were to lower the price to about $30-40 it would be worth it. The price alone for this product is too much of a hassle for how long it doe!
s not last.
s not last.
I use tenergy 05 in my forehand and i love playing with it, tenergy 05 gives me all the speed i need in my offensive game and a lot of spin, still, you need to train a lot to control that spin.
It is great to serve, to block but is slower than tenergy 64.
I think tenergy 05 is a great rubber.

I have been using this rubber for quite some time now and it feels great on my backhand. Although this rubber is very fast and generally well controlled, it is not very durable. I have to frequently change my rubber (About every 2 months) because i play about 6-7 times a week for 2-3 hour spans. This rubber is pretty spinny and i suggest it for anybody that plays a big loop game. it is a very good offensive rubber and fast enough to help you keep up with fast counter loop players. However, once you start using this rubber, be prepared to pay a lot of money to frequently change it.
I use this on both my forehand and backhand and it's lovely to play with, perfect for my style. However i do find it difficult to stick the odd chop in there if i want to change it up, but then i guess its not directed at that style of play. Playing against chop however is delightful. Smashing good. Blocking great...basically buy one and be impressed and never go back!
YO BLUD DONT LISTEN TO ANY WASTEMANS THIS IS THE 1 AND ONLY RUBBER THE BEST RUBBER OUT OF THE BUTTERFLY AND ANY OTHER MAKE YOU CAN NOT BEAT THIS RUBBER WEL NOT YET ITS 100% PERFECT WEN I MEAN PERFECR I MEAN PERFECT
Nice rubber. Fast, spinny and controlled. The perfect rubber for my top spin game.
If you're into loops and spins, this is the rubber for you! Awesome counter looping and really good even distant from the table. The high angle carries the ball over the net even away from the table.
This has the highest throw angle non-tacky rubber I've used, everything else feels mid throw compared to this one. No tensor compares to this.

Cons - Expensive. Big time.
I don't mind the weight, but my personal feel.
Pros - Goes fast if you want it to go fast. Slows down for you if you want it to. It doesn't have much of a crispy feel not like T25, but the overall feel is great. The control is manageable, and if you wield this weapon correctly, it would improve your game. You would be able to loop most of the spin given by your opponent, and the feel during smashing/drives are fantastic. No cons except the price. Could go down a notch.

Used this when it first came out end o 2008 and was amazed. After getting my EJ on its now 2015 and I'm back to tenergy 05. My skill level has improved exponentially and I find this rubber better then ever. Have this on a BTY ALC 2.1 on both sides and its a beast. All I can say is it's like the modern day Shriver.
After all the comparisons of this rubber, I had HIGH expectations for this stuff. I was NOT disappointed! I use a Persson Dotec OFF blade. The combination is a force to be reckoned with. The rubber has very good response to spin.
I am a pinhold player, so I put an anti-spin on the other side of the blade. This combination provides me with the BEST of both offense and defense. I takes awhile to get used to the limited touch required for this rubber, but it performs with a very aggressive "pop" that is super hard for my opponents to return.

I wish i could blend this rubber with boost tc to make some super rubber boost is faster but less spin boost throw angle way lower or straight wich make the other player left chasing the ball tenergy good for close boost mid got ten 05 on a viscaria fh
It is a good rubber, or even a classic rubber. Good control while having high speed but not sacrificing a lot of spin. I think it will be ideal for soft blades. One disadvantage is that high speed only appear when hitting hard.
I use this on both sides of my Donic Persson Power Carbon Senso blade. It's a fast combination and you don't get much dwell time but that's a compromise I'm willing to take.
Tenergy 05 is a very good near to the table to mid distance rubber. The first 2-3 months I really had to struggle to make my blocks and pushes to work. Now i block fast with accuracy and my pushes work as they always did before. It's fairly easy to control your game with Tenergy 05 but it's not recommendable for beginners!

This is a good rubber a bit pricy but well worth it. It is a good mid distance looping rubber took me a while to get use to it before i was using a bryce speed and a bryce hard sponge on a korbel blade. Now im using tenergy onboth sides of my timo boll alc.
Very good for flat attackers or near the table, but also for those who want a fast and spinny rubber.
The Tenergy 05 is a great rubber. The best that I tested until now. Take a time to get used to control it, but, finally, I can loop with heavy spin in my forehand and my backhand has an aggressive topspin.
the tenergy 05 is by far the best rubber i have ever used its fast and spinny so the ball goes back with great effect and speed about the control i found it great had no problem at performing any stroke wherever i wanted it in the table im using it with a timo boll tricarbon and i love it is very fast and powerfull about its weight its kinda heavy but its doesnt matter because its perfect. blocking is almost automatic the trow angle is high but so high, i have have both on mi fh and bh tnergy 05 and the catapult effect that they produce is incredible i love it on my bh .
so, i live in a very humid place and I've had a bit of problems gluing it really... i've been trying to glue it since monday, today, wensday, i was able to glue it but it only stayed glued for one practice, i practice two/three times a day and i can't be allways gluing it, please someone help me. BUT, the first impression of it was the best, really. it had good speed due to the carbon layers of the blade and amazing spin and block, really the best rubber ever, I recomend it to everyone ;D
thanks
thanks
the tenergy 05 is one of the fastest , spinniest, and most powerful rubber i have used. it is very bounce though. when i used my bryce fx after using tenergy 05, it felt like the weakest rubber ever! it would just go to the net.
good rubber not the most spin and not the most speedy of rubbers but can do every offensive style well. it is like a euro and chinese fused together (made in japan). i used this rubber for quit some time, which i usually don't do w/most rubbers, but it kept me satisfied longer than most rubbers.
One of the best rubber for spin and speed. Serves are also very spinny with T05. But I found it's hard to control this monster. It's not very tolerant and the ball can land anywhere, out of the table or into the net, when you make just a slight mistake. Short game is not good, but not bad, either. Smash and loopdrive are super hard to control, perhaps because of the "spring sponge". Very durable, I've played mine for 4 months now and it is still in good condition. I think this rubber is better for a control-loop game, like Timo Boll's.
This rubbers is awesome!
is fast, it has an incredible spin and you have control of the game near the table with this rubber.
Is great to serve and to looping but isn´t good to chop.
It requires a good blade and practice, to play well with this rubber :)

Hi there i just boughtDonic Appelgren Allplay Senso V1 with Butterfly Tengegy 05 for a FH and and Donic Quattro A'conda Soft for a BH... I have to say this rubber is perfect, simply love it... i have to admit that have have only used it to training once, just got it yesterday same day as training...
here is my view.
normally i have some serius trubles with returning the ball when the opponent serves but with this BH i can just like that... the Fh tengegy 05 i can loop even a real good backspin serve if it comes long. another thing i saw with this new bat and rubbers was that my loops with my old bat where very slow and the opponent could block em og loop back with really no stuggles... with this rubber in my FH my loops just gets A LOT of speed and most times the opponent dont take em... really this is a serius rubber...
all i can say is a super rubber a super compination.. and i have only play for a litlle more than a year... still im playing with a team and goes pretty good.

in my opinion, tenergy 05 is the best looping rubber to have. i like using this on amultart and mizutani blades. it is very good characteristic to loop on your forehand. it is very fast, as fast as speed glued rubbers. the topsheet is not very tacky, so it does no have max spin, but more than enough to do very deep spinny loops. the angle the ball hits off the rubber is very high, noticeably higher than most other rubbers. this makes tenergy 05 a very good rubber for looping underspin balls, because you can really lift it up and over teh net. it is okay for blocking, a little hard to control if you do not have good feeling.
I'm currently using this on a butterfly balsa X5 blade and am impressed.
Fast loops are easily executed with precision and quite a lot of spin. 10/10
Chopping is managable. 7/10
Pushes/Smashes: 9/10
Blocks will almost automatically be agressive due to the catapult effect. 9/10
Highly recommended for offensive loopers!

The Tenergy 05 is an excepcional rubber. It's very spin frienly, it's powerful, but you can control the ball with it easily.
It's definitly the best rubber for the speed glue ban era.
If you are looking for an offensive rubber for your top spin or looping style of play, the 05 will be the right answer for you.

T05 is an excellent rubber. Here is what I have found to be true of this rubber. One, it is not as heavy as others make it out to be. I think the weight it manageable. Two, although the price is high, it is well worth the money. Just make sure you take care of it and it will last a long time. Compared to the T25 the T05 has a slightly softer topsheet and the pimples are smaller. The result is that it is better for a mid-distance game b/c the rubber is springier. Also the T05 is more spiny that the T25 but only slightly. T05 throws the ball higher while T25 has medium-low throw. When I hit and looped with the T05 I had to pulled back just a little and concentrate more on controlling my swing otherwise the ball would go long and off the table. However, loops with T05 are faster than anything I've ever played with. I say this b/c when I was doing a looping drill with my coach the ball was coming back to so fast that I almost didn't have enough time to get ready for the second or third shot. The pace T05 puts on the ball was so dramatic it forced me to be quicker in returning to the ready position. Blocks with T05 are stable and fast. Serves are spiny but the T25 is better for serves and for serve return b/c the low throw angle. Still the spin on the T05 is remarkable and gets the job done just fine. Pushing is also very easy and my pushes have a lower trajectory as well as consistency they did not have before. In my opinion, the T05 is better for backhand b/c it allows you to spin and loop very well as well as block and drives with speed and accuracy. On the forehand it is incredibly powerful but you do have to dial your own personal power down ever so slightly to keep the ball on the table. T25 will give you the same power but better control and placement on the forehand and you can put your all into a shot and 9 times out of 10 it will land. T05. Great rubber. I'm sticking with it.
A great rubber! I put it on my Butterfly Ishlion, which is a very light blade, and it makes a decent combination. After using DONIC Desto F1, comparing it with this one, Tenergy 05 is faster and more controllable, but makes less spin and is much heavier. Very good rubber, though! Expensive!
One of the better built-in speed glue rubbers that I have used so far. Amazing for looping, counterlooping and counter rallies. Blocking was also amazing with this rubber. It's a lot more forgiving than I thought it would be. The only problem is the rubber's short game. I expected it to be a little more similar to chinese rubbers and have a better short game, but that was not the case. I was able to get good spin on serves as well. Overall, it's very good for serves, rallies, loops and blocks but lacks the short game.
THIS RUBBER IS AMAZING! THE BALL CONTROL IS GREAT AND IT HAS AWESOME SPEED! IT GIVES THE PRECISION CONTROL NECESSARY TO MAKE THOSE AWE-INSPIRING SHOTS AND WILL CERTAINLY IMPORVE YOUR GAME! IT DID FOR ME!
Tenergy 05 is a fast rubber. But great for All-rounders and offensive players. The high arc loops are incredible, you will feel the catapult effect. It's one of the best durable rubbers.
Tenergy 05 is a best at short-game, cause isn't the fast rubber. The fast short-game make Tenergy 05 still controlled to play.
Tenergy 05 works fine on almost every blade. On the Michael Maze blade your blocks are amazing. Counterloops are incredible.
On TBS looping is amazing, it's slightly better than the Michael Maze.

No, I didn't liked it very much. The throw was to high, and the sponge to hard.
The first loop and serves are great, but after that I couldn't do much. Blocking was ok, a bit difficult at the beginning but you will get used to it quite quickly.
Flicks were ok, although difficult to master because of the high trhow.
If you don't mind a high throw rubber with a lot of spin it is a good rubber. if you want to play fast, and have a lower throw this isn't the rubber for you.

Get the cons out of the way first - heavy, expensive.
Other than that, it's an exceptional piece of equipment. The sponge isn't quite like anything else on the market. It's controlled on slower touch shots, but really lets rip with anything harder. Feels hardish to the touch, but behaves far softer.
And the spin potential is massive - much more than the non-tacky surface would suggest. So you get some of the advantages of traditional chinese tacky rubbers (easy spin on serves and loops), but with great blocking and driving ability.
One word of warning - it's fast. Not as fast as a heavily glued Sriver, but certainly faster than most vanilla non-glued rubbers. If you're not used to glueing up, some adjustment is required. And the throw angle is quite high.

Very good rubber with high speed, unbelievable spin and good control, worth the money! Just buy it!
The Tenergy series really rocks! This rubber really shines in respect to spin, speed and catapult. The high trow angle makes it easy to initiate attack, the spin and speed can cause your opponent serious problems. When playing this rubber, the blade is a crucial issue. For a topspin player (and that's who tis rubber is for) who plays with serious amount of spin and feeling, I would suggest a Photino, than the catapult effect makes it an outstanding combination and the ability to generate massive spin is unique. More direct players and hard hitters may prefer it on a Amultart, though I think for such a guy the spin qualities are not needed. Only downside to me is that it is sensitive to incoming spin when you are not active. This needs real expertise and you have to play a very active block play (meaning tiny counterloops) at least. A must try! If it doesn't play well, think of changing the blade.
I thought that the hype about tenergy was to much but i have to admit that it is an exceptional rubber,
Its a medium to hard sponge and the speed is amazing, it is very controlable also in short gameplay and the spin is very good although on a nittaky violin you have to brush it well.
To hit with tenergy is great to, you can place the ball where you want it, and blocking is no problem at all to although you might hve to adjust your angle a bit deu to the speed and the medium high throw angle, i cant wait for the 64 wich is softer and even more controllable they say.

Speed is good, controllable, slower than high speed rubbers. Spin is not bad. So far it's been impossible for something to be really spinny and really fast at the same time. Tacky rubbers have the spin, euro/japanese rubbers have the speed.
Tenergy 05 tries to put these two together. The spin does not match tacky stuff and it's not very fast, but it's close. Currently it's the best or at least, one of best rubbers at combining spin and speed.
The sponge is rated 36, touching it with your finger it feels medium. However, when you're hitting/looping it feels very soft, like playing with a 33 degree sponge. Touch shots are easy to control and keep low. This rubber has gears!
Overall, I would like more spin and a harder sponge, but I shouldn't ask for too much. It's currently one of the best rubbers available on the market. I rate it 10/10.

Tenergy 05 did not perform well for me on the T-4 so I transplanted it to a Donic Chuan Senso Carbon.
Oh Yeah!! This is one great sheet o' rubber for top spin play, more for aggressive play than all around I think. It has at least as many gears as I am capable of asking it for and gives solid performance at any distance from the table.
05 excels at over the table loops and fast loops taken at the top of the bounce.
Good blocking and short game, smashing was good as far as I tested it, didn't do anything really challenging though.
Compared to Boost TC on the T-4, Tenergy 05 on the Chuan feels harder of course, and seems to be less controllable when under pressure and struggling to remain in the point. I liked the Tenergy/ Chuan combo better for close to the table attack and the T-4/TC combo better from mid distance. Both set-ups are good for either distance but the Tenergy gave a more positive feeling at the table while the TC was truly explosive from mid-distance, incredible speed and spin!
Update: After more time spent with the Tenergy/Chuan combo I am getting as good or better speed from mid-court as with the T-4/Boost combo.
The difference is now down to the "wilder" bounce with the Boost; side spin takes more effect with the Boost making for less predictable bounces. The Tenergy tends to have a straighter, more forward going bounce.

This rubber is amazing! It makes a pretender look semi-professional. Ball control is excellent even with a fast rubber. The amount of spin is quite impressive for this bestie boy! Might take a few hours playing to get use to type of rubber, especially if you're not use to this much power and spin. Expensive, but worth every penny.
The Tenergy 05 Black 2.1 mm is a great sheet of rubber for the looping player. Its best used on forehand since it has a high throw and its really spinny. I extremely like it because it is so easy to counteract different kinds of spin, especially underspin, with its high throw. I just do a normal loop with Tenergy and it will counter even the heaviest underspin, of which i could not counter with other rubbers. It is a great choice for the intermediate to advanced players, but is not a great rubber for novices. This is a must-try for more experienced players!
GREAT RUBBER, VERY FAST AND VERY GOOD BALL CONTROL, PERFECT FOR BACKHAND AND FOREHAND TOPSPIN. I IMPROVED MY GAME A LOT USING THIS RUBBER FOR OVER A WEEK ONLY. WORTH THE MONEY.
One of the latests best rubbers by butterfly. It´s spring sponge is quite hard, and control and spin are great. It´s feeling is more alike than best chinese rubbers, but Tenergy isn´t not Tacky, just very grippy. It´s best characteristics are durable, and superb for short game, blocks, chops, services and returns, but isn´t slow at all. However, It´s not as fast as others brands rubbers with "built in speed glue effect" but it has a better balance, and much more control. Don´t think this is Commom chinese rubber by BTY, it´s an alive rubber that doesn´t neeed to be reglue.
The weak points are that it isn´t affordable at all, extremely expensive for a TT rubber and also weights really much.
For me, the best Butterfly rubber for the glue-ban era.

Finally! I answer to all my praiers considering a rubber that actually felt like it was glued, without being soft and mushy like he...y! It also has spin! That's not usual for rubbers with built in speed glue effect. It has a strange sponge, it feels hard in the short game, but softens up when you put more power into a shot (like looping). Good sound, actually really great glue feel (it's not like glued up mambo, which explodes like a firecracker, but it actually feels like a glued up hard rubber) and really spinny when needed. It's a little fast when it's brand new (I play it on a Maze OFF) but it slows down after a couple of days, and plays great! I'm struggling a bit with getting the spin I want on serves, but it pushes and loops great! I had to adjust to blocking with it, it was very springy, and had a very high throw compared to glued Bryce, but after a while it went smooth. Now I can't wait to try out the Tenergy 25 which should come to my house in about a week!
Since the release of Tenergy in April, I have used over 6 different sheets of Tenergy 2.1. As usual from Butterfly, the quality of the product is very high.
The topsheet is VERY grippy, probably the spiniest non Chinese top sheet I have ever used. I was hooked onto this rubber with my first hit. This is truly a one of a kind rubber, during a loop, the ball sinks in very nicely into the sponge and catapults it back with massive amounts of spin and plentiful speed.
The rubber has a very high throw angle, making it very easy to loop kill underspin balls, but that also increases the difficulty in counterlooping.
This rubber costs $65 retail in the US, but it is worth every cent, it is much more durable compared to the $45 tensors. This IS the ultimate glue substitute (so far).

This rubber is fast, spinny, and perfect for a looping and attacking style game. It has only 1 thing that is not very big, but it sometimes pops the ball a little high if you are not careful with your chops, but who would be choping with this rubber.
No problems blocking, smashing, looping, or any attack possible. If u use slower rubbers unglued like sriver etc, it will be a little fast at first and you will have to adjust throw angle and stroke a bit.
Over all great rubber for my attacking style, though a little heavy. Ide recommend it to any one once the price lowers a slight bit.

I was sold the moment i had my first hit with this rubber. The rubber has an incredible feeling of sucking the ball and then catapulting it out at great speed, much more so than the softer Solcion.
Strangely, Tenergy gives out a much shorter arc in distance compared to other rubbers I've used in the past, making it much more forgiving when I go for a kill shot over the table.
Although this is not a tensor, it certainly is fast enough to play like one, but Tenergy has a much better short game. Overall, it is not the fastest rubber there is, but definitely one more the easiest one to play with in its speed class.
