Purchased September 2016. Megaspin offered the best price on this model.
Purchase was for a high school setting. Students have PRT - Personal Responsibility Time during lunch and study periods where there are some recreational options such as Table Tennis. The tables we originally purchased four years ago were very sturdy looking and had the nice 1 inch playing surface. However, the tack welds in various places and the flimsy hinges left us constantly repairing and patching together. So we were looking for replacement tables that would be longer-lasting, professional looking and which played well.
After researching a number of brands and levels of tables I decided to order two different tables from competitors and compare them. One I ordered was this Joola Tour 2500 model from Megaspin. The other was ordered from a competitor which appeared similarly strong, playable and sharp looking.
The Joola Touring 2500 model from Megaspin arrived first, within two to three days, shipping was free. We were surprised how soon it arrived. The driver for the shipper they used was super helpful and brought the table right to where we wanted it in the school. The table came in very protective packaging. Because I had read so many reviews on various tables that had arrived damaged or missing items, I opened and inspected the table before letting the driver leave. He was very understanding and the table surface was in perfect condition and everything was in order.
I had one of our students help me assemble the table and set it up. I gave him the opportunity to play the initial game on the table which he was proud to have won. I read the description of the assembly procedure and looked at the photos but did not find them that helpful. However, the assembly was so simple and straightforward we really did not need directions. It took about 20 minutes.
The past several days, students have enjoyed playing on the table and appreciate the way it looks and plays. The casters are very solid and roll easily over carpet and tile. The locking mechanisms on the wheels are sturdy and easy to operate. The dual-locking mechanism used when table is in fold up position keeps the top very secure while moving to storage spot at the end of each school day. With two clips to release when setting the table up from the folded position, it takes a hand and a foot to accomplish while manipulating the table top with the other hand. Easily accomplished for one adult person who is conscientious. For students, I will prefer two to set up.
We are very pleased with the table presently. The clip-on net really does connect both sides and insures they are the same height. The heavy, one-inch thick table top provides excellent play. We trust that it will be very durable and provide many years of student use. The real test will be how the table endures over time under the heavy use and daily set-up and takedown in our school setting.
The other brand table ordered from another company still has not arrived. So far, the Joola table from Megaspin is winning the comparison. We are beginning to think we might have been wiser to have just ordered both tables from Megaspin.
