MA LIN SOFT CARBON has the same outer veneer as the famous EXTRA blade. Its medium soft characteristics is appreciated by players who want increased ball feel.
In SOFT CARBON Yasaka is using a special, very thin Carbon fibre to improve the speed and enlarge the Sweet-spot.
Together with the thicker wooden middle veneer it gives good power.
The combination of the “power part” (carbon+thicker middle veneer) and the softer outer veneer makes Ma Lin SOFT CARBON the perfect choice for power players who need a good ball feel for best performance.

Reviews of Yasaka Ma Lin Soft Carbon - Chinese Penhold (32)
It should cost half of the retail price. Sanwei Fextra7 owns this blade and its 4 times cheaper, both in terms of speed and quality, and its all wood, this carbon here is almost non existent, but it adds to stiffnes and tiny bit of speed while losing a little bit of feeling compared to non carbon version - Yasaka Sweden Extra, where SE loses is in the flex, because the flex there forces you to correct the angle of the blade harder and harder, it is not very direct in blocks etc, that is improved with Ma Lin Soft Carbon. The handle is nicely trimmed, but other than that, it is bad craftsmanship. The "EYES" are on both sides and they protrude out of the handle, which is annoying. And the handle is not sanded. Weird. Tiny splinters of wood are present, but very minor. The blade came varnished so you need strong glue to keep the rubber on. I can play really well with it, control is there, but the feeling is missing. It is like you hit with folded newspaper or I dunno a book. I will try different rubbers and come back to this review later to update it, because I put some Ten05FX on it at the start. Speed is kinda pathetic for a carbon blade. I mean it is so ez for people to just put these weak shots back it is insane. I really can't recommend it at this point. There are way cheaper blades and way better. Can't even recommend it for beginners, because blade lacks the feel. Outer layer is Anigre, but it doesn't give good crisp feeling even though it is almost as hard as KOTO, and KOTO outer blades give nice and crisp feedback. Weird. It is not bad by any means, but nothing to write home about either. You can have good placement with it and produce good spin, dwell is allright, but lacks the feedback for beginner blade and for intermediate it is just too slow imo.
EDIT1: mine weighs 92g. I mean c'mon... At least it is balanced, sort of. Maybe tad head heave with rubbers.
Overall, it's a very good blade with a specific character. Its strongest point is definitely the short game. On soft touches, pushes, and serves, the control is very decent, providing a nice feedback that gives you a lot of confidence. The power development is also very linear; you don't get any surprising or uncontrollable "kicks," which makes looping very predictable.
?However, my main observation is about the quality of the vibration, especially on high-impact shots. When blocking powerful loops, the feedback can feel quite "dry" and harsh. It gives a sense of lacking firmness, and I found it a bit uncomfortable compared to more premium blades. It feels like the blade transmits all the raw vibration, without the "filtering" effect you get from top-tier inner-carbon blades, which tend to provide a much "cleaner" and more stable feeling on impact.
?So, for me, the MLSC is a good blade for a controlled offensive game that prioritizes touch and linear acceleration. But for players who are very sensitive to feedback, I think the raw vibration on powerful exchanges might feel less refined than what you'd find in the top tier of composite blades.
I have an intermediate-level game, and it is excellent for a controlled game, probably due to its plies that make it soft. The feel. You can sense the impact. Very good for all kinds of play. I use it with Rakza X on the backhand and Rakza Z on the drive. Short play over the table and not too far away. Flat and top. It’s not for fast off+ play because you’d lose power. A good blade to keep for years.
I love this blade. It is not a fast blade, but the feeling is so nice and it feed back is excellent. I think it is a very nice choice if you want to step up from your all around blade.
Good blade for allaround players , good control and nice feeling for the balls , not hard blade and not too fast .
