XIOM Omega IV Pro

Save $3.00 (6%)

Select color/thickness:

• Extra playing properties by new carbo sponge and top layer
• Additional clicking feel for sharper control
• Extra spin with new chemical composition

Historical evolution towards full "speed-glue" aggression. Based on Hyper Elasto technology the new top sheet matched with upgraded Carbo Sponge offers extra-ordinary playing properties. Feel at the ball contact fully assimilate the clicking sensation generated by speed glues. New chemical composition and additional built-in tension make the ball more spinning and its trajectory significantly higher. OMEGA IV PRO stretches the ball from opponent's court very fiercely after the bounce as if launched from speed-glued rubber.

Reviews of XIOM Omega IV Pro (52)

Played in max thickness on Xiom Zetro Quad and Septear on forehand. Didnt really like it on backhand personally as too low throw for me to backhand loop with confidence. Would be good if you were just looking to push safe, block passive and punchblock on backhand. Really matches well with soft blades hinoki top in particular. Most similar feeling to speed glued Bryce I have found. Though similarly with speed glued Bryce I found this lower throw rubber forced me to play one way: get into topspin ASAP, offensive and fast until the point ends. This is where the rubber shines though I prefer newer generation rubbers where topsheet grabs the ball more and allows a more varied and imo more enjoyable table tennis experience. For comparison purposes which may be helpful for others: lighter weight, a touch slower, less spin at low-med speed/serves, lower throw than Rasant Powergrip 2.1.
This is faster, more spinnier, more click feeling, catapult, similar throw to than Palio AK47 Max. As AK47 Red is slower and noticeably lighter this may give the impression it is higher throw vs Omega IV Pro though only as you can brush and hit harder with AK47 Red.

A relatively firm and grippy topsheet combines with a firm sponge (47.5 ESN hardness) to give high spin and speed potential. Paired on a Petr Korbel blade, it gives consistent results on flicks, pushes, smashes, loops and hits. Lifting backspin is effective. The ball does not slip off the rubber even in humid weather and when loop driving with a very closed racket face. Offensive shots, properly executed, will simply skid and shoot off the opponent's side!
May not be helpful to beginners because sound stroke mechanics are required. One needs to hit into the rubber for best results. For the improving player, this rubber gives clear feedback in feel and sound.
Compared to Xiom Vega Pro, the chief difference is Vega Pro has a supple topsheet, even though both Vega Pro and Omega lV Pro have the same published sponge hardness. With Vega Pro, the feel is like the ball 'plays' on the rubber for a moment before shooting out. With the Omega lV Pro, the feel is more immediate.
The rubber is priced approximately 25% cheaper than the latest tensors. My rubber had to be replaced after about 90 hours.
Though this rubber has been around for 10 years, it is still an excellent attacking rubber for intermediate players.

Great rubber for offensive game. I found it to be little better than MX-P. It took me no time to get used to it. It doesn't lose the spin even when you hit topspin with full speed. Generates lot of spin during Serves too. Highly recommended!

I have Omega IV Pro on Adidas Challenge Speed& Xiom Zetro Quad. C-Pen blades..Reluctant to use T05 because of playing style &personal preference.I have and like T80very much glued on harder blades.Omega IV Pro is an excellent offensive rubber, spinny ,speedy and with great control in blocks.IMO Xiom is great company with exciting new products(great R&D).sometime they introduce their products too fast paced.

I don't really like this rubber on my BH (Tibhar SPW blade), i think its just too hard sponge for me. Maybe on FH it would be much better. It's fast and hard, lacking nice feeling. It can produce nice spin but it requires very good technique imo.

good rubber but kinda lack of spin compare to tenergy series..for spin tenery>xiom
but for control n block I prefer this rubber.
the speed n bounce/loop kinda like T64 but the throw angle a bit lower
Overall I prefer this rubber cause it's easier to block

A perfect rubber for topspin and aggressive play. I just love it

Hard rubber. It's great in speed and blocking rebound in a straight line, but I did not like it's serve.

This is a very fast rubber which can produce heavy spin when needed. The greatest strength of this rubber is that it can produce consistently powerful topsins with a strong forehand stroke, however the forehand stroke is best when combined with a powerful turning motion of the body. This makes a very good forehand rubber and lasts very long so no need to replace it for many months. I have had a sheet for six months and train for tournaments about 10 hours a week and the sheet still plays like new

I've used Tenergy 05, 05fx, 64, 64fx and long been a fan of Butterfly from the early1980's. Today i became no longer a fan of Butterfly. Xiom Omega IV Pro is awesome. My top spin loaded looping and driving opened a new era and dimension where almost nobody can receive my ball. Highly highly recommended. You'll know what i mean if you use it.

hard to control. Awesome spin

Very nice rubber. Lacks some spin but all other attributes is Humble Pie.

You can put this rubber on your FH or BH. An "easy to use" rubber, but to achieve the full potentials of this rubber, you need to have a good swing stroke.
It has good control, dynamic linearity & lenient for all type of players. To create a decent heavy loop or top spin, ball should deep enough on the top sheet & penetrate adequately to interact with its black carbo sponge. In short, proper dwell of the ball on this rubber should be accomplished for you to create a pretty good spin.
Perfect for stiff hard blades.

An amazing rubber with incredible speed.I recently bought a tenergy 05 and compared it with this.I found that this is a little bit more faster with more spin than the t05.

I used this as my FH rubber for last 3 years, very good spin, speed, low throw, loops dip after hitting other side if table. I didn't think I would find better but have recently switched to Omega V Tour, which whilst not having the same destructive power as IV Pro, has more gears and more control. IV Pro is a very good rubber and suited for aggressive attack

I am around 1500 rating and use this rubber in 2.0 on FH on a Xiom Aria blade (5-ply wood). Coming from Vega Pro, Omega IV Pro has a noticeably harder sponge and faster speed. When flat hitting, you get a satisfying crack of the sponge and when looping a nice click.

Flat hits, smashes and blocks: This rubber performs really well here. Blocks borrow all of the speed and spin of opponent's shot, and propel the ball back on the table. Smashes and drives are fun and satisfying.

Push: The fast speed and hard sponge make service return harder to control, but the pushes are spinny and fast. After some adjustment I could drop them short over the net too. Requires a lot of finesse for the short game.

Loop: Like Vega Pro, this rubber really grabs the ball and imparts tremendous spin. The sponge adds a lot more speed than Vega Pro. The result is lethal loops, but if you make sub-optimal contact you'll be punished.

Update: This rubber is incredibly powerful, but just too fast for me to manage. I went back to Vega Pro and am much more confident now.
