It is relevant to the end line, not the side lines. From the laws: 2.5.8 A player obstructs the ball if he, or anything he wears or carries, touches it in play when it is above or travelling towards the playing surface and has not passed beyond his end line, not having touched his court since last being struck by his opponent. 2.10 A POINT 2.10.1 Unless the rally is a let, a player shall score a point 2.10.1.5 if his opponent obstructs the ball |
