To peel any rubbers, soft/medium/hard this is the procedure I follow that works very well and gets even better with practise.
.Lay the rubber on a flat surface, rubber side down.
.Put the palm of your left hand across the sponge to steady it.
.Using the nail of your middle finger on the right hand scratch away at the very edge of the sponge.
.You will begin to expose clean sponge.
Use the finger end of the same finger to roll back the glue a fraction. You must do this in very quick, short rubs. The ideal is to find the glue form a slight tent.
.When you have pulled about 1 cm back use the thumb and first finger to pull the glue FORWARDS. Then bring in the middle finger again and use it to rub the glue skin where it meets the sponge.
.All the time you need to bring the skin away by stripping it towards you and not away. If you roll away you will get craters.
.Practise on the hardest sponges with the greatest amount of build up at your club.
