To answer your other questions, I would say the feel of the balsa is on the firm side, certainly not as flexible as the butterfly "soft" feel blades like the timo boll. On the other hand I don't feel like it is particularly fast, although I have to say that I don't think I have enough experience yet to be able to tell the difference. I would be eager to know your opinion on this once you've been using it for a while.
