Kung, That's not true. LP's do not behave in the same was as regular inverted. The way in which LP's add spin, is by the pips deforming under the pressure of the incoming ball, then recoiling and 'flicking' the ball forward with added spin (eg incoming topspin becomes outgoing backspin with even more spin - actually spin continuation and not strictly speaking spin reversal at all) If there is a big sponge underneath the pips the dwell time (time of impact) will increase and the pips will deform less. With OX pips, you get the least dwell time, and the pips are forced to deform most and thus have a greater 'spin reversal effect'. |
