My advice would be a recreational racket, Donic and Butterfly are available from here, and would be good. Stay away from anatomic handles, they're hard to find; try to stay shakehand. The Donic 400 is very inexpensive, if your son already knows the kind of game he wants to play (offensive or defensive) then a better paddle may be in order; if he's not decided, this is a good start. As far as balls go, I'd stay with three star; the price difference for 2 star or 1 star isn't enough to warrant them unless you're stocking a robot. If he's serious about wanting to play well, you should get a coach, and he'll recommend the right equipment for your son. |
