Twiddling means flipping sides of the racket during the point. I would add some strategy against long pips. Many people play long pips in what's called the up/down game. Really deceptive long pips aren't able to change spin...they only pass it through. So if you give a heavy backspin you know you'll get a topspin back and vice-versa. So, one strategy is to chop, loop, chop, loop. Of course another is to keep as little spin on the ball as possible and try to flathit everything. The worst thing you can do is like serve sidespin or loop with sidepsin, unless you're good at keeping track of it. If you continually reloop you'll keep adding to the backspin you get back and it will become harder and harder to lift. |
