I have a lot of problems with the serves of a local club player. Whenever he serves, he will grasp the ball inside his palm (like holding a tight fist) and with the ball pointing downward. Then he will switch his fist upside down with the palm pointing upward and then opens his palm while he starts throwing the ball upwards. The problem is that he does it so fast and with the ball inside his fist (before he serves) I have troubles seeing where the ball is every time he serves. Consequently, I lost quite a few points because of that. I concult several experienced players in my club, they do not seem to think his serve is illegal beacuse they say no rules saying he cannot cover up the ball with his fist before he serves as long as he toss it up when he serves.

What do you all think?
