I hate to ask, but was wondering about your rating... If you are a 1800+ power looper, with excellent form, footwork, and consistency, by all means give any of the recommended rubbers a whirl. If you are a sub 1600 player, you'd be better off with "less exciting" rubber. Most of the rubbers recommended are WAY fast, with relatively little control. IMHO, most would be likely to hurt your game if you are below 1800 or so. I know this opinion isn't overwhelmingly popular, but I see way too many relative novices whacking away ineffectively with fast blades and speed glued super rubber. I suppose they think that the 1 in 5 mega-shots that land make up for the 4 that miss the table by feet... bes |
