Most soft rubbers that will take glue should do you fine. I like Magna. Its not designed as a tacky/sticky rubber, but the topsheet is grippier than your standard euro looping rubber.

If not, as you say, desto, f1-2(not 3 if you are glueing), sriver, Bryce FX, Tango, to name a few will suit you(dependent of level of control you want)
