If you are a shakehand player, this spot is most likely a thumb mark from your grip. This has happened to me and many other plasma players I know. This is not a problem, don't worry! Anyways you shouldn't be hitting the ball down that close to the handle. Buying a new sheet because of this is a waste of money. Only buy a new rubber sheet if you think yours is wearing out. BTW, this seems to happen more with Plasma than other rubbers, it doesnt make a difference.
