Thanks for all the quick replies, just another thing, I dont live in the US, I live in the UK.

That is to say that I am not sure if any sports shop in my area will glue rubbers on for me etc.

@ Alex, when i play with no sponge, it always feels odd to me, my brother however abides by playing without spongs and only ever plays pimples.

I'll have a look into some of the suggestions you guys have made when i get the chance.
