gark, i find that most of the time, i use a chop return when possible. my forehand is a real problem for me, as i tore my labrum/rotator a number of years ago,and have a more limited range of movement than a lot of folks.
unfortunately, once an opponent finds this out, i get LOTS of cross court forehand shots.i can't return them with the classic topspin power shots, so i play a little further back and hope they slow down on the descent. then i try to drop 'em as close as possible to the net.the raquet that i'm currently using was a gift, and requires little energy to send the ball rocketting across. however, it's a bear to slow things down and hard to control.
