My principal gripe with robots is that they do the same thing every time , if there was a robot on the market that would , for example , put top spin on two balls followed by chop on the next , and on different areas of the table too , then I would buy that machine !
Robots have limited use , they are mainly for beginners , and as far as I'm aware , no top flight professionals use them , their preference is to practise with tricksy humans . A robot that could accurately mimic human unpredictability would be a massive step forward for table tennis robots , and for the field of robotics too.
